Scotia is a Fisheries Research vessel owned by the Scottish Government. She operates in conjunction with the Aberdeen Marine Laboratory in Torry. I was born and brought up in Torry and spend my summer holidays fishing from the three piers on the south side of the channel. These were: a. The Banana pier across from where the video was shot b. The Old South Breakwater aka the "Skates Nose" c. The current South Breakwater Sadly, due to "elf and safety" concerns (aye, right) there is now no public access to any of theses piers
@@scottg2754 The full circuit of Greyhope Road by car has been closed for years due to the construction of the South Harbour. When they eventually opened the section at the South Harbour end, they simultaneously closed the section between the Junction with St Fitticks Road and the Torry battery. Twats!!!!
You did have a nice weather 🙂 2:26 That part over there was my favourite spot for shell collecting & spotting seals & dolphins. Such a pity they closed it to cars.

@@suzycat2026 access isn't easy there. I've been that side and there are some fences. That's a shame
If you can walk or cycle up it's good @@scottg2754 Easy access to the coast, I really miss that spot.
