Additional tip: If you believe a trick is easy, it will be easier to learn because you are more optimistic towards trianing it and therefore train it more, and you also probably commit better at each attempt which means you are training it more efficiently too. Just gotta make sure you are trining in a safe manner. You should not feel very scared before each attempt. If you do you are trying something that you are not properly ready for mentally. Slow down and take a few steps back and come back better prepared.
Little bit of trivia: the moonkick has always been a defined gainer with a defined hook in tricking. Then the term became confusing when the cheat/slant gainer started gaining (yay, puns!) popularity amongst freerunners, who sometimes called it "kick the moon" because of the slanted angle that made the trail leg kinda look like it was throwing a kick upon landing.
Yeah I have always known that freerunners call a sloppy tucked gainer kick the moon. Always so cringe when someone calls that thing a moonkick but you can't blame anyone for not knowing that 🤷🏻♂️
@@johzuke1 I swear I had to make a reeeally hard effort not to write "freerunners, notorious for lacking any concept of what an actual kick is [...]". 😂
@@AndreaRodolfoNadia Trickers, who are notorious for only ever kicking the air, gate keep kicks.😜 No hard feelings though, most of us know our kicks are bad.
This is a total corruption of the truth. The move in tricking known as Kick the Moon is a facsimile of the capoeira kick Chuta na Lua which predates tricking by many years. In Chuta na Lua you trace the shape of a crescent moon with the lead leg i.e. you KICK the shape of the MOON. Trickers started adding the hook in the late 2000s and for some reason this misinformation has been adopted in certain circles as the background of the original kick.
I have done triple cork but I can't do moon kick, I'm trying to learn gainer semi frontswing but I can't seem to make my gainer sideways. I always flip over my body too much which throws my momentum into the floor. I'll try maybe learn swing 7 cause that seems easier but I think I've tried those before and they also don't make any sense. Any other tips to force my body to learn how to flip sideways?

Thankyou for this tip! I wanted/needed my moon kick to be a little better or enough :>
Love the presentation! And if it's easy, even better. Got to get this one this year.

Invest one session in just the swing 7 and making that into a moon kick. You got this man!
Perfect love
