Fun fact: Jean Smart, the other actress nominated in the same category for this same show, won a different Emmy that night for a different show, Hacks (go watch it it’s so good)
All 7 episodes of mare of easttown are worth watching. It is well written, and all the characters are very well played. it's not your typical crime drama show.
It was such a good character, so it's very fitting that such a fine character actor won the award. Nicholson is wonderful and I hope she does a great many more movies and series as good as that one.
Jean Smart was always the frontrunner for Lead Actress in a Comedy, which is probably why a lot of voters didn’t feel inclined to vote for her in this category. I understand folks rooting for Hahn. WandaVision was very popular, and her character and a few of her scenes were “iconic”. But it just wasn’t an awards worthy role. Elisabeth Olsen was the only actor in that series who should have stood a chance at winning. I also wouldn’t have minded seeing Renee winning. But Hamilton really had no business competing in these categories.
Hahn should have won since Wandavision really was a limited series and Mare is in preproduction for a season 2. Winslet confirmed it right after she won. Mare and other shows like it keep gaming the system to win awards. It just cheapens the Emmys and make it look rigged.
This was a tough one for me! I watch Hamilton, Mare Of Easttown, and WandaVision religiously, so when I heard Renee Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, Juliane, Jean Smart AND Kathryn Hahn were nominated I was truly impartial.
What an incredible show. Everyone is amazing on it and I went through it when the people that died on the show did. Bc I ended up caring about these characters. That's what a great show does.
I cannot believe they choose pretty much the spoiler twist as an extract for Julianne Nicholson....whos the idiot who did that? But I think Jean Smart was more outstanding in this serie
I really thought this was Hahn’s time, and I can’t imagine how happy our world would be for her if she had remained the winner, but it is not anything to dim the light on how absolutely heartbreaking and emotionally powerful Julianne Nicholson was in Mare. My choice is always gonna be Hahn, but Nicholson had the way better episode submission and deserved that win 100%. Hahn will have her time my fellow Hahn Stans, we just gotta wait a little longer then we had hoped.
And look how respectable and happy she was for Julianne as a fellow under appreciated actress getting her spotlight moment. It breaks my heart that Hahn didn’t but amazing win nonetheless.
@@Michael-xi9nb Not only does each video use different clips and songs, but the amount of seconds also varies. The algorithm is so messed up that it's hard to tell what will get blocked and what won't. Anyway, considering they uploaded the backstage interviews with Brett and Julianne, I doubt they forgot to upload their speeches.
Category fraud. Mare is prepping for a season 2 just like Big Little Lies. The Mare cast should have been in the regular drama categories. Hahn, Bettany, and Michela Cole were robbed. I hope the Academy finally gets a clue and do away with these limited series categories and put these shows in the regular comedy and drama series categories, expand the field to ten, and introduce preferential ballot just like the Oscars. These executives keep playing "we're a limited series" BS until they win Emmys and then they renew their series.
@@Grace-rj8gd no you don't know what you're talking about. Wandavision had a beginning, middle, and end. Hahn getting a spinoff which with an entirely different story and lead character is completely different. In that case you would be saying All in the Family and The Jeffersons are the same show which would be complete nonsense.
The final episode of Mare of Easttown proves why she won
Her crying was maybe the best I’ve ever seen. It made my body hurt just to watch.
Facts
I completely agree. It sent chills down my spine.
Facts! I literally felt her pain while watching her especially in that kitchen scene. So well deserved!
The last episode of Mare clinched it for me. Extremely authentic, nuanced, gut wrenching performance
I don't wanna see any slander towards Julianne, SHE DESERVES THIS SO MUCH!
Slander means false accusations that damage a person’s reputation. Maybe you meant something more like ‘shade?’
She is incredible
She nailed that last episode. Delivered all the emotions so authentically.

About damm time her talent got recognized! This woman has being given amazing performances for years.
I'm genuinely upset that she's so underacknowledged compared to other actresses like what the crap
The most deserved award of the night!!!
Mare of Easttown deserves every award it won. This show was incredible!
Can I just say, how I admire Kate’s husband being so authentically happy for Julienne? Rare guy moment.🙌🏼
that was soooo cute!!!

Finally! It took so long to post this one. Congrats to Julianne! She’s finally getting the credit she deserves.
She was sublime in Mare. Well-deserved!
Kate and Julianne's friendship is what i live for
I love Kathryn Hahn but I thought Julianne Nicholson also deserved it. I wish it was a tie.
But Jean smart deserves more than both of them
@@ritamacwan9901 She won for Lead Actress in a Comedy though.

I remember Julianne Nicholson from Law and Order: Criminal Intent and from Black Mass. Now she’s won an emmy and maybe one day an Oscar. Time flies.

Such an incredible actress👏 she conveys pain and grief like no other.. I remember her in August:Osage County💔!
Well deserved👌!
Julianne deserves this so much. Bravo Mare of Easttown 🎉🎉🎉

IS RYAN! MY RYAN! MY RYAN!
This was a really great series!! A must see!!
She was great in August Osage County.
The way she ran towards Kathryn 😭
I saw her over 20 years ago in “Tully”, and have been a fan ever since.
I love how her hands are shivering
An award for crying in the last episode of the series
I saw her for the first time in Monos, a colombian film and she was great. So deserved this award.
I love you Kathrin Hann 😭❤
Kate is so happy for her
It obviously was gonna be her or Kathryn Hahn
It would’ve been a well deserved win either way
I first saw her in an episode of ER and she was brilliant then. Well deserved for Mare!
Well deserved. Amazing show. 👏👍
AMAZING PERFORMANCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Last episode of Mare seal the deal!
Always found her very attractive.
What an amazing performance ! Well deserved !
Omg...I loved her in eyewitness
She broke my heart
She's great in August: Osage County, and her daughter's name is Phoebe? Double great!!

For this video, you mean? I'm guessing that they got copyright claims for using those clips and songs.

At least this one should go to Kathryn hahn. They just insult wandavision by not giving them any major awards....😫😫😫
Hanh was a meme.
It's Marvel what do you expect hahaha
As they should
Maybe Hahn lost because she killed Sparky the Dog.
Hopefully, she will have another opportunity with the upcoming Agatha show.

Technically wandavision isn't a limited series either since there's gonna be sequels and spinoffs
