A: Yes, but I would need coaching, practice and money to fund my efforts. Hard when you have a mortgage to pay and kids to keep clothed and fed. PS, I turn 44 on Monday and play off 1.5 🏴⛳️🏌🏼♂️
Nothings holding me back Rick! apart from talent and the funding I'm right there! I'm only 46 and playing off 15. I'll see you in Q School next year buddy!
Nargh. I'm an old knacker ex-forces, with a bad back. Fair play to those who choose this life. Seems to be a lot of hurry up and wait - much like the British army LOL I do enjoy the videos Rick - great job mate.
This is a really cool mini-documentary, and I love that this is the direction you are going. You are gaining access to places many of us cant get to, so seeing the inner workings is super interesting.
Love this. Don't think Q School gets the exposure that it should. It's one of the best tournaments with some really hungry player all fighting for a dream.
Q School is captivating. Players from all over the world, looking for that life-changing break. It's cutthroat, raw and real. I love watching the best in the world on the major tours, but it doesn't have the human appeal of guys who are battling to make it there.
Great video, love this direction of content, Rick. Fair play to the boys who made it through it really must be tough to have your livelihood on the line like that!
I brick it when my dad and mates are watching me off the tee, never mind this! A great insight into what top end golf looks like, a very interesting one this.
Sick video Rick! Would love to see more of these type of vids, following lads trying to make it pro and what they go through. It's so interesting to see how they prepare, the training they do, what the life is like when they make it etc. Love it, great work.
Great video. Fantastic quality and the insights into the process and pressure is amazing. I would be freaking out with the amount of pressure these guys go through.
Yeah I still have a chance to do it if I wanted too. I just missed my opportunity to help raise my experience level as a whole with tournament golf. Mental and a bit of distance is a little concern but just playing tournaments is the biggest thing, and I have a lot coming up soon I’ll be ready for
Really cool video Rick. Would be really awesome if you get to do a more in-depth (covering training/the preliminary rounds/etc) documentary w/ a handful of players at next year’s Q school. Also, pretty fantastic camerawork (and editing?) by Craig. Really top quality
Except for the several significantly out of focus close-ups, I agree. Fix that with some better manual focus in interviews and you have a really top quality show.
stumbled across this one Rick whilst heading down a wikihole on Augusta Masters, so cool to see Jeff Winthers and others from back in 2018 knowing now what they have achieved now. Do another one for 2022, go on :)
Love the videos Rick! I was wondering if you could do some video's on a structured practice for the whole game, and some on videos about on course strategies? Great stuff keep it up!
I only started playing golf two year ago and your vids are awesome if I have a problem with my game I just look you up how mad that you learned me to play golf without even meeting me 👍🏻
What a great video Rick! A old friend of mine is teeing it up in the US Champions Tour Q School next week - good luck and top job to anyone who attempts to play in these events. Thanks for posting.
Actions speak louder than words!!! You have to earn your dreams!!! Never let anyone stop you from taking action. Never give up. Those guys that made it earned it because they worked hard and in the moment they were extremely confident.
Rick!! This was an amazing video. It really shows how difficult and the pressure upon you to join the tour. It would be amazing to play on the tour, but how would you even go about getting to the stage of Q school?
Hi Rick do you do swing analysis ?? And if so I was wondering if my swing is quite right ? Low and left I’m being told at the mo to get the best impact / follow thru position? If not Would be great to see a video on this as I’m getting mixed messages !! Cheers rick great channel 😁
I like the new approach to PGA tour by playing WEB. com tour, no more Q school. Cousin went to Q school in the US three times, great golfer emotionally killed him by pressure & putting life on hold until he gave it up. US had thousands of guys trying every year. That's why you need the minor league like the web.com to get experience in front of the people & media. Informative Rick, general public does have an understanding how the process works.
Hi Rick! Thank you for all the work you do producing quality instructional and informational videos. I am really enjoying them. Now, concerning swing analyzers, between the Garmin TruSwing or SwingTip, which solution do you prefer and why? Are there other solutions you would recommend over these two options? Thanks in advance for your response. Rod from Portland, OR USA.
Having the European tour as the ultimate goal, are there any other tours that you can play as a professional to give you confidence and hone your skills before attempting Q School?
Great Video Rick, Luckily I did the same in 1984 and missed my card , then came back in 85 an managed to get it. I really feel for those Guys that missed. It is hard to explain to people what pressure that is ..
Great video Rick, I watched Liam's channel a couple of days ago when he introduced Dan. He looks like a good player and its going to cost a lot of money on tour, he better start wining some money.

Rick Shiels Golf can u do some more junior events/ teeing it up with/witb

I do enjoy the videos Rick - great job mate.
My age and im determined to go to q school and quailfy. Gavin Moynihan plays at my home course. So i get to learn a lot of him
This is a hidden Rick Shiels gem that I have not discovered yet. Glad I did
Right!! How have I not seen this?
This is a really cool mini-documentary, and I love that this is the direction you are going. You are gaining access to places many of us cant get to, so seeing the inner workings is super interesting.
Thanks so much for the kind words Paul. Really glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Have watched your videos for several years and this may be my favorite. A unique look at the game that we'd otherwise not get a chance to see.
Very true, it's a real grind out there!
When I saw the title for a second I thought Rick was going pro
😂
That's why it's called clickbait.
I have faith in him
Christian Sobczak he is already pro, he's just not a tour pro
Great video Rick , what these guys put themselves through to qualify is amazing , be keeping an eye out next year for the 3 qualifiers you followed.
Thanks Lee! Me too, can't wait to see how the guys get on!
Great video, love this direction of content, Rick. Fair play to the boys who made it through it really must be tough to have your livelihood on the line like that!
Great work Rick, and your growing team. Really enjoyed it!
I brick it when my dad and mates are watching me off the tee, never mind this! A great insight into what top end golf looks like, a very interesting one this.
Thanks so much 👍

Very good video Rick showing things we don´t usually see on regular TV and how hard is to make it to the European Tour
Great content Rick. Love the behind the scenes vantage and the honest Q&A after to see where these guys are at. Keep 'em coming!
Rick this is a really good video. Not only do you play a good round, your on camera stuff is outstanding. Really enjoy it. Thanks
Thanks David!
Great video. Fantastic quality and the insights into the process and pressure is amazing.
I would be freaking out with the amount of pressure these guys go through.
I was nervous for the guys playing in it and I'm just sitting here watching on my phone haha 😅
haha I hear you Matt!
Great video Rick, very insightful into what a golfer has to go through to get on a tour, good luck to all those who graciously took part in this video

Great vid would love to see the you tubers vlog their way through the qualifiers see what happens
Yeah I still have a chance to do it if I wanted too. I just missed my opportunity to help raise my experience level as a whole with tournament golf. Mental and a bit of distance is a little concern but just playing tournaments is the biggest thing, and I have a lot coming up soon I’ll be ready for
another top video rick.really does show how hard it is to get on the tour, never mind to then win on that stage.
Awesome video, so different to the other standard videos out there, you're just on a different level Rick! Keep it up!

Great video rick. This is probably your best video. Very cinematic and stylish. Clean clean clean
Really cool video Rick. Would be really awesome if you get to do a more in-depth (covering training/the preliminary rounds/etc) documentary w/ a handful of players at next year’s Q school. Also, pretty fantastic camerawork (and editing?) by Craig. Really top quality

Neat to see the back story a bit more.
Really enjoyed your insight to the qualifying school.
Quality video Rick. Something a bit different. Good luck to the three that qualified.
“The thinking started and the pressure got to me”. Now ain’t that a truly revealing statement?
Would love to see more videos like this.
Loved this. One of my favorite uploads from you.
Nice little insight, thanks for showing it.
Really enjoyed the vid, As others have commented the standard required just to get a tour card is astonishing.
That was a great vid. We don’t get to see these up and comers like this. It would be cool if you could do a couple of these a year.
Awesome video per usual! Q School doesn't get the credit it deserves.
Cheers! 👍
great content, love these inside looks, keep it up mate

Well done, Rick! Your videos keep getting better and better. Yeah, what a pressure cooker Q school must be.

Fantastic video. Really enjoyed the raw emotion 💪
Thanks Benjamin! 👍
First time I've seen this Rick, but would be great of you could do a follow up on the 3 boys who qualified for their cards.
Rick!! This was an amazing video. It really shows how difficult and the pressure upon you to join the tour. It would be amazing to play on the tour, but how would you even go about getting to the stage of Q school?

Good video, a mini documentary. I hope you follow the three next year on your channel .
Having the European tour as the ultimate goal, are there any other tours that you can play as a professional to give you confidence and hone your skills before attempting Q School?
Hey Rick, great video! Was wondering what brand sunglasses you were wearing?
Great Video Rick, Luckily I did the same in 1984 and missed my card , then came back in 85 an managed to get it. I really feel for those Guys that missed. It is hard to explain to people what pressure that is ..
playing competively is fun but i love just being at the range hitting and teaching.
What a great video really shows how 18 holes can make or break a golfers dreams
It does indeed! Some serious pressure!
Nice video Rick! Great insight
Thanks so much for the kind comment Peter!
Great video Rick, I watched Liam's channel a couple of days ago when he introduced Dan. He looks like a good player and its going to cost a lot of money on tour, he better start wining some money.
