It's a variety of honeydew melon, called golden honeydew here in the US, Bayo. Not usually as common to get as the common green honeydew, probably why you've never seen them. But my grocery store here occasionally does have them. The ones over here are more fleshy inside with a much smaller cavity..
I just took the fruit, with confidence, after watching your video. I am not adventurous when it comes to new foods but i am glad I did try it. According to my children, it tastes like a combination of apple, watermelon and mango altogether.

Golden Melon... closest I have seen and tasted is Honey Dew.. used to load my fridge when I was in Texas.. looks mighty delicious ! Ice cold

Hmmm, very interesting! That sooo looks like squash (USA) from the outside, but sounds like you're biting into a delicious apple. I can't imagine biting into squash like that. Would love to try it; looks good! I don't recall ever coming across that fruit while living in 9ja as a kid. If it's honeydew, like some others have commented, it's interesting that 9ja's is yellow in color, but here in the U.S. it's green. Thanks for sharing o, aburo.

You certainly got a great deal for 3 melons. It's certainly not that inexpensive where I live. It's called golden melon, Asian melon or Korean melon. It's different from the golden honey dew melon. I relate the taste more to a juicy crunchy sweet bosc pear.

😂🤣😂Surprised you've not heard of golden melon,it's related to cantaloupe,l eat it here in England every time,especially summertime.We don't eat the skin here but from what l know of watermelon, the skin has more of the nutrition than the main bulb if you can juice the skin...

In fact God is wanderful and dynamic in His creations.
Is not more than 5 years I knew about it. My first taste of it. I ended up eating it along with the seeds. Moreover the fruit is nice and unique in its triple taste of apple, guava and water mellon.

It looks like a canary melon. We have them at farmer's markets here in the 🇺🇸 but not so much in grocery stores.
