Bought one a couple weeks ago and installed it in my '21 CVO Black Hole Road Glide. It is an awesome upgrade from the OEM radio and is working beautifully. Headed out on a ride from WA to AK in about 3 weeks and glad I'll be riding with the head unit.

Jay I have always appreciated your honesty, HD is doing exactly like your said, they sell products with the idea of we the customer coming back to them for upgrade after upgrade, they do it with their radios, they even do it with their bikes. You buy a bike and spend 5k upgrading it, they charge 50 bucks to flash a radio at least and you know what they charge to upgrade to their next level anything audio, it's crazy. God Bless Jay.
I upgraded to the Sony ax7000 three years ago; rode in all kinds of rainy situations, sprayed water on it while washing the bike, and never had an issue with it operating in the rain, and it still works great today. My major complaint with the Sony is the screen is hard to see in bright sunlight, which is a safety concern when crushing the miles in high-traffic areas; additionally, the limited thumb control options and having to touch the screen to change selections on the screen while moving are safety concerns. What sold me on the Si are the better screen, bike info, and control options. I ordered the new Si radio from your shop a few days ago and can't wait to receive it and to get it installed.
I installed this as my last upgrade to my stereo. After knowing what I know now, this should be the first upgrade. The difference is so much better, it doesn't even seem possible
Well it looks like this is it! Nice features and much better sound. Level equalization is definitely a great feature because you want your music playing even weather it be usb, Bluetooth, or radio etc. two thumbs up!

Just for the record Jay, I'm beginning to think it was an installer error on the original unit. Nevertheless thank you for your professionalism. Also I am so tempted to upgrade to the SI from the + but my Dakota Digital gauges show me all of the information that the SI does so it would be overkill. lol. Great video My Man and keep up the good work. 🙌🏾
You had me excited until you said it doesn’t support wireless headsets. That’s a deal killer. The reason people don’t have a whim is because of the horrid support and quality for anything but the HD branded Sena.
It’s more complicated and costly than you would think, if enough people ask for it there may be a higher priced unit with those features in the future, they have already amazed me with everything this radio can do at its price point
Let me know if they decide to survey the market to understand the need for wireless comms support. I’d be happy to put the word out on our podcast. The number 1 complaint that always comes up in the Boom GTS unit is it’s lack of industry standard support for wireless comms. The architectural design of that unit for comms is out of date and alignment with modern tech. Not to mention there are a ton of riders who wear full faced helmets or don’t want to blast crap in public while they are riding.
@@bartb7790 Same here. I run Cardo and not having support for that with CarPlay on my RGS is the one thing that I hate with the bike. There’s simply no excuse to not support industry standards these days. Pay the licensing for the codecs and profiles and be done with it. The HD solution is outdated and was when they released it.
As of today, January 3rd I spoke with the tech at idatalink, the gauge issue is only on 21-22 models and is being worked on, a new firmware for the rr module will be available soon to correct these issues.
I got the 1st one from you for my 19 EGS and love it. All my buddies like it better than they're factory radio. Maybe I should've waited for this version. Lol
I'd really like to see a complete Bluetooth headset solution through the radio. If I am using my Bluetooth headset to listen to audio and I ask Siri to make a call or do anything CarPlay, it defaults all audio to the radio which isn't connected to my Bluetooth headset. If this radio is purpose-built for a motorcycle, please make the radio integrate with Bluetooth headsets so the rider doesn't have to fiddle with their phone to get the audio connections rerouted to the Bluetooth headset. Jay, I know your company doesn't make the radio but you have their ear. Thanks!
Hi Fantastic video! i have already bought 2 14+ for me and my buddy! we love it! my other buddy who rides a Road Glide CVO is on the fence. He says if you could include a comparison on how it fairs in the sun compared to the GTS, he just might hop on the SI bandwagon! Do IT!
@@volunteeraudio Does this new SI model have a reverse screen video option like the GTS for those extreme super bight days? Also how good is the screen display from direct sunlight? Thanks
@@dcdell2008 we did a brightness test on the 98-13 roadglide radio to show just how well it does in sunlight, the Soundstream is brighter than the gts radio and uses an optically bonded screen to make it easier to see
I was one of the many who "upgraded" my GT BOOM audio to a Sony unit about 3 years ago. Just like you said in the video It works until it doesn't. Any water on it and it goes berserk. The company that I bought it from folded so I have no support anymore. I am seriously considering pulling the trigger on this. I've got a JM Rokker 800w amp and 4 speakers on my 15' Ultra LTD and music is a priority for me so this looks to be a great investment.
Sounds like you were a fat head cycle’s customer for your Sony HU, just like I was! I bought from them; it got soaked when washing ( didn’t get very wet actually) and spazzed out. Fatheads sent me a replacement. 2nd one got fried in a rain storm ( even after I bought the 200$ Biketronics waterproof cover for the Sony ) Fatheads wouldn’t cover it twice but Sony did the second time!! The third Sony was still playing when I sold that bike. Bought a 16 cvo road glide. Bought used gts when they first made it so older bikes could use them. Later bought the soundstream when it first came out. It’s a great hu. But now I won’t the si version. lol this hobby is stupid expensive 😂
From what you have described of the New SI, I am glad I bit the bullet and preordered one, now I can't wait to get mine. Will you make a announcement that you have received your shipment?
Wow what an awesome Head really nice features beats the heck out of the GTS I have I also am sold I might have to save up some sheckles for it, I have a 2021 RG Special with the RF amp in the rear bag and speakers all around
Great info! The radio is awesome, it’s like having a Powevision inside the radio built in and much more! If they partner up w Dynojet I’m sure the could load new tunes thru the radio. I wish they would use the old style oil pressure sensor from 13 down touring bikes and built in an oil pressure gauge! The oil pressure switch is only $38 and easy to replace to make the oil pressure gauge work if it was available on the screen.
Oil pressure has worked on every bike I have tested including 2014 Electra glide and 2014 Streetglide, the only one so far that did not have an oil pressure sensor was the 14 Electra glide police
@@volunteeraudio I understand it has oil pressure switch that tells if the bike has oil pressure and notifies you if it does not. What I mean is the older 13 down bikes had an actual oil pressure gauge that used a different type of oil pressure switch that constantly read oil pressure and you can see if your oil was dropping due to oil pump failure. Thanks for reply. I’ll be calling you tomorrow to purchase some harness and amp kit for 2019 Street Glide!
@@volunteeraudio I’ll call you tomorrow, maybe it’s better for me to buy this radio instead of flashing my GTS radio. I was going to install Hertz speakers and Rockford amp. I already have them from my old bike.
2018 SGS, boom 2 amp and speakers. this is a direct Plug and Play? That's what held me off on the original sound stream. the TOTAL cost to replace everything was a little steep for my pocket. I like the idea of getting the head unit and it work with I have and then upgrade later. So that is my purchase question. Direct plug and play with what I already have. thanks
I bought one of these and it's been nothing but problems. This past trip to Sturgis it disconnected 37 times! On the way back to Milwaukee it disconnected 42 times. I've spent 2K on this trying to repair it replacing everything. I've had to remove the fairing 9 times trying to fix it. I will never recoup the money spent. I wish I would have just left the GT radio in the bike.
@@stephenk6991 this is not a normal reported problem but if your radio disconnects from your phone it is a cable or phone issue, 99 percent of the time it is the quality of cable used to connect the phone. It must be a charge / sync cable. Call our tech support at 1-844-30AUDIO for more info
They should have two USB ports or make it so your phone connects wirelessly for Android auto / Apple car play. Need that USB port for a thumb drive to have music when you lose cell service. Lots of poor reception up here in NH. Love my system loud and clear!
Great video Jay! Real quick I like all the features this radio has. I also have the same 2022 bluesteel cvo RG you were demonstrating the radio on. Is the Navigation only going to come from Android auto or car play? Is there no Navigation on the radio itself as the stock has? Just curious. Thanks.
Correct, Harley nav is always out of date and gets you lost, by using Apple Maps, Waze or google maps you have the best nav, always up to date and has live traffic
@@icrobicrob2718 wrong, this is false info, the phones have embedded gps chips just like a a garmin gps with no need for cell service while using navigation, map must be started while in service but will continue working outside of cell range
I guess I’m the weird guy that uses the wireless headset with the WHIM. Too bad they ignored this functionality, maybe on the next model. This is the best looking aftermarket unit I’ve seen.
Awesome video. Thank You. I have a "22 Road Glide Limited with BOOM GTS and 4 speakers. My wife and I ride a lot together and are currently using wired headsets to listen to audio and communicate with each other. I am aware there are no Bluetooth coms. Are wired headsets supported?
I'd love a new system but there are no installers in my area. I don't trust tearing my street glide down, much rather have someone who's performed this a few times.

I cant seem to be able to contact anyone by phone or email not sure if you’re all on vacation or what But its not at all what i expected from your company
Did you guys get the new radios in yet? I know you have a lot of work setting everything up once you get them in I say take your time get it right as I know you will . Just hope they’re not hung up somewhere. Thanks happy new year.

Damn, I hate that I saw this very awesome video!! Now, I need to save some beans to upgrade my GTS on my 2019 Ultra. Will I be able to use this with e HD Sena50S in helmet system without issue? I recently went full faced after 35 years of a bottle cap helmet. Great video and marketing to convince me!! I think I heard that the WHIM and headset for music, and carplay doesn't work with this? If so, will it work in the future?
This model does not retain any brand headset through the radio, it will not send audio or nav prompts to your headset, obviously you can still talk to others and take calls directly from your headset
Well, I'm gonna have to start saving up. I've been hesitant to move away from my GTS for several reasons. One was the functionality of the thumb controls. How well does this connect Bluetooth to communications headsets? I also use Harley's Navigation to plan my trips. This is seamless using there app and sends the route to my GTS/Navigation. This allows me to change my route each day quickly if needed while on the road, so I would have to workout how to plan in a different manner. Gonna have to give this some serious consideration. If I decide to go this route I'll be coming to see you guys.
You can plan your trip on google maps or Apple Maps on your phone, once at your bike your ready to go, and the phone nav is always up to date and monitors traffic. This radio does not connect to wireless headsets
@@volunteeraudio I was commenting before I competed the video. I do have the WHIM and use the headset for audio on longer trips. Still I am very interested in this new radio, due to all the newer features. Do you think there will be a way to connect to headsets in the future?
@@volunteeraudio Hope that they are working on wireless headset connection. Not having that is only reason I would not make the change. Like all the other features.
I ride cross country on a road glide ultra and the wife and I use the corded headsets for music and intercom; will it work with any one of these head units?
No the hdhu14+ and hdhu14si models do not support headsets, wired or wireless. The new V2 coming in January supports wireless headsets and will be the best radio available
Then you need to watch our video about V2 Soundstream Reserve V2! Every Feature You Have Ever Wanted In A 2014-2023 Harley Davidson® Radio! ruclips.net/video/XEmgXkwB5Ik/видео.html
I would appreciate a direct honest review (and road test) with boom stage 2. Is this radio an amount of “upgrade” only, or the “solution” for the problems with boom stage 2?
Since you can enact the high pass filters you can solve the issue if too much low frequency bass blowing the speakers, the amps do put out more power when fed a much stronger input signal
I have a 2016 Ultra Limited. Is the “si,” going to show gauges on the screen or is that just on the newer model bikes. Because that’s one of the main reasons I waited for this to be released. That and it’s such an awesome radio.
We have people that drive much further, Mexico, Canada, Southern California etc, it’s just a fun trip to the smoky mountains and you get your audio upgraded while here
Awesome presentation. Just purchased a 2021 Road Glide Standard with Sound Stream. Everyone around me is drooling but I don’t know what I have. I know I have something great, I just don’t know how to access it. My screen doesn’t have the bike touch button but it does have three touch buttons on the left and right side, I’m running with an iPhone 13 Max. How can I determine if I have the data module on my bike so I can use Maps via CarPlay? ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy, Ret.
I would love to have a front and rear permanently mounted cameras on my bike. Even better if it had night recording also. Any recommendations to hook up to that radio?
This is our favorite camera system for Harley volunteeraudio.com/product/kenwood-stz-rf200wd-motorsports-dual-camera-recording-systemf. , it uses a phone app for viewing, it will not connect to the radio
In another video, I saw that you were talking about a Maestro MRr 2. module which could be programmed with an iPhone app. Did I understand well ? caer sweat your site you do not offer it for sale.
That module has been on backorder since December of 2021, you would also have to press a button on the mrr2 to connect via Bluetooth every time you connect which means the fairing would need to be removed
Did you have to change the main wiring harness on the 2014 police bike? They did not come with a stock radio connector or any factory provision to add a radio on the stock wire harness
Hi, the Soundstream Reserve HDHU.14Si looks amazing. I am from Israel and our radio frequencies (Europe) are different from those in the United States, is it possible to change the radio frequencies in the settings of the HDHU.14Si device so that they match the frequencies in Europe. Two examples: for the frequency 91.8 FM and also 96.6 FM.
I have a 2018 Street glide which the HD audio by Rockford was added to the bike like always sound good in the store but terrible on the road I made a mistake so this radio all I have to do is buy it plug it in and everything works the same or is there other things that I have to do like jumpers or other things that I know you talked about way back how do you eliminate the amp and all whatever thing else but I'm just looking to replace my head unit so this is just a plug and play for the HD audio by Rockford
Awesome radio...I should have waited...can you separate the Highpass filter front/rear? If not what do you recommend for a Hertz neo front and RG 6x9 in the lids?
Radio looks great. Question , when low on fuel comes on with stock radio , it asks do you want to find nearest gas station. Which is a great feature for when you’re out touring in a strange land. Will this radio do that I’m hoping ??
The low fuel warning can be set to appear but with up to date maps through apple or google you can select nearest station and find the closest by selecting it in your maps.
@@volunteeraudio thanks for responding. I was thinking that after I sent the question. Not a deal breaker , but it is nice just a touch of the button and it finds the nearest one. Still a great radio that I need. When the time comes , will definitely come your way. Love your channel.
Great video! Does anyone have any experience adding audio / nav to a new 2023 Harley FLHTP Police Electra Glide? I'm scheduled to pick up my new bike in a few days and wondering what challenge I may have or surprises as this bike comes with no speakers or head unit / antenna but looks to have a place in dash to mount items. I wonder if the wiring harness is in place being a Police model or even if finger controls or a place for an antenna are in place etc as I honestly forgot to look when buying the bike today. Now I'm wondering how doable is adding sound and Nav going to be to a police version?
Great video! Loved the demo on an FLHTP, but I have a question about the hand controls... Current setup: '20 FLHTP w/RDRS and factory hand controls, fairing and tour pack speakers with a Sony 7000 and the hand controls do diddly for the radio. Even tried to swap for lighted hand controls and ended up causing the horn to continuously sound. Would a swap to the 14Si w/ iDatalink allow for radio control at handlebars? Would I need to replace the hand controls? VERY INTERESTED in viability.
Watch this video, once you have the correct thumb controls installed the Si radio has amazing advanced thumb controls that will work with your police bike ruclips.net/video/feslmrNs0xQ/видео.html
Hi Jay! Good video, as always. I have a 2022 blue steel cvo RG. It came from factory with the HD rockford fosgate stage 2 system, fairing speakers, and lid speakers as like the one you installed on the cvo rg in your video. I added a tour pak and added the same rockford fosgate stage 2 speakers and their drop-in subwoofer with the secondary hd rockford fosgate amp to run them. I had to purchase the Bluetooth dongle to run this set up not sure if it communicates to the radio or to the primary amp. But was required to work the added system. Maybe it was to use the hd audio app? But anyway w ill this head unit be able to run those as well with the fade, eq, all the normal stuff, and does the sub control only work if you're hooked in through the rca connection?
@Volunteer Audio ok no worries on controlling sub with radio the hd audio app does volume for it my concern was I'd still be getting sound through all my speakers and sub.and being able to use equipment on the hdhu 14si I'm wanting to buy this and ready to pull trigger just neef to be sure that everything will have audio. Once I connect I know I can't return...lol, but if you do find out anything, please let me know. I spoke to Rick earlier, and he seems to think it will play through.. thank you for your reply
@Volunteer Audio I wish I was in the area you could test on mine lol but stuck here in Michigan. I'm gonna try do more research as well thanks again Jay!
It has better navigation that is always up to date, more accurate and accounts for traffic. Apple Maps, google maps or Waze . Harley factory navigation is terrible in comparison
What about the GPS? I am pissed odd with the stock one coming in my 2018 CVO Street Glide. It takes too much time to enter any address, it doesn’t allow voice orders (whether any cheaper car’s GPS allows it) and of course as it doesn’t have Apple Car you can’t send the address from your Iphone’s Google Maps!
It does not have built in navigation. Just like most new vehicles it has apple CarPlay and android auto which use google maps, Apple Maps or Waze. These are superior navigation apps to anything that could be built in and yes navigation works even outside of cell range because the smart phones have embedded gps chips that do not need cell towers to know your location. Simply start your route in cell range and it will continue outside of coverage. The radio does include a microphone that can be installed to do voice control or you can start the nav on your phone before you connect it to your bike.
I ride mostly with a full face and a Sena 30K HD edition headset so I can (sometimes) communicate hands free. I like having the CarPlay up while I'm riding but the controls for it suck. If I were to get the HDHU.14Si, what would I need to do to link it to my headset? Very interested and thanks for the video.
I have a friend running 2x 10’s and a set of drivers in the bags, 2x 8’s & 2x 6.5’s in the fairing both midrange along with tweeters. His old setup was running off the stock stereo with a DSP & he feels the need to use the DSP even if he purchases this stereo. He is convinced he needs the DSP to get comp level sound. Any thoughts? He has a 2015 Road Glide
It can be done without a dsp but there are many variables, if he is running the system active with multiple amps he would still need the dsp, if he is using passive crossovers in the tweeters it can be done without the dsp with good results
I have a 2018 Street Glide Special with the factory GT radio. I also have the Rockford Fosgate Stage 3 speakers and amp. Do you know if the SI will work with my setup? And would it be plug and play? Thanks!
I like it...however l have rockford 400w marine amp 4 RF 4 ohm speakers and boomaudio on my 2018 cvo roadglide. I bluetoothed my Spotify l downloaded an eq on my phone and at 125% my sound is clear and LOUD AF. I can hear it no problem, even with a full face helmet, my 131 stage 4 motor, bassani 2 into 1 exhaust and on 1 side a brother with a rg with a python exhaust and on the other side a brother with an sg with a thunder header ...if your product had been available last year ya'll could have saved me a buttload of cash for other upgrades and hookers. Nice product
I would like to know more about what you can do with the Nav are you able to load routes from an USB drive like the factory radio how about going an Video
It uses the navigation on your phone, you set your route on your phone either before you plug it into the bike or after it connected set your route on screen
Hey Jay.... Could you not Possibly source a unit that would make that Mike input convert to Bluetooth ? Then you could use Voice commands on CARPLAY ?? Link it to a SENA OR PACKTALK ...? Got my System .....SO HAPPY :)
It has Bluetooth, never seen an adapter that would just use the mic input, I have seen Bluetooth adapters for an aux input. There may be a future version that supports headsets if people keep asking for it but there is no way to add it to this radio
Depends on what year Harley, the radio displays what the engine computer can see, 14-16 has psi, 17-20 says ok, this is because Harley changed the sensor and ecm in 17 to only see if the oil pressure is above 10psi it says ok
I have a 2016 Ultra Limited CVO w/boom2. This radio works with both my current amps? The bike also has a USB in the cubby next to the radio, is this still operations with your new unit? It has the ability to play my music on the thumb drive and displays music info on my screen, this unit will do this as well?
I understand that the system does not support the bluetooth function for the microphone and the headset. But then, how can we receive route instructions from Carplay (Maps, Waze etc..) ? only in visual on screen, or in the HP ? If so, that's really not practical !
Why not stand alone gps?? Phone not reliable since alot of areas are still dead zones. Do they plan on releasing one with gps on radio and not relying on a phone
Phone is very reliable, all phones have embedded gps chips that do not rely on cell service, this is a false idea that navigation stops in dead zones. Simply start your route before driving into a dead zone and the maps are downloaded to your phone
It will fit the fairing, I would assume you would need a police bike radio harness to get the data turn on from the ecm and ability to add thumb controls
I wanted to know does this radio add the TPMS functionality to my 2015 Street Glide Special reading the specs it appears to but I would need to add the TPMS sensors to my wheels since it did not come with them.
Questions: The system doesn't have actual GPS navigation (with a GPS antenna, software, etc.)? It's only able to use your phone cell network for nav? Also, is it possible to add CB Radio functions? We use that a lot for group rides.
It does use the navigation from your phone but your cellular chip has an embedded gps chip also, this means navigation still works and is accurate even without cell service, there is no way to maintain cb
@@volunteeraudio my understanding of the system is that the cellular chip and embedded GPS chip is useless without cellular service. The phone needs to have access to mapping for the area you’re in before it can navigate. A standalone GPS does not; maps are preloaded. Unfortunately, the map database in a GPS requires updating every few years.
Would It be worth removing the HDHU14 for the HDHU14SI on a 2018 Street glide special? Can I use the HMP4D-SS Amplifier pre-wire for the 14 for the 14SI?
Harnessing would have to be changed on the amp, it’s really a cost vs feature question, if the added features merit the cost to you then yes, I love the HDHU14SI so far and I am swapping from the Hdhu14+ to it also

The hdhu14+ is a great radio, but I also am wanting the HDHU14SI in my own bike now lol
Thanks!
I have been relaying all the requests for headset capability 💪🤞🏻
@@volunteeraudio YOU ROCK! Thank you!
That's awesome Jay!
Need to get one in your bike Cue!
USPS delivered my pre order Today….yeee haaaa…Thx Jay
Thank you!
Just ordered mine yesterday can't wait to get it installed in my bike. The boom GTS was junk no matter what you do to it
Awesome, thank you
Looks awesome! I will order when they address the Bluetooth issue. I have all Sena Harley helmets, rider and passenger so for now I WHIM it.
Thank you for watching!
Do IT!
It’s brighter than the gts, have him compare to your radio, same screen tech
This is the one
Looks amazing, need it for Road Glide CVO 2018
This is a great radio for CVO!
From what you have described of the New SI, I am glad I bit the bullet and preordered one, now I can't wait to get mine. Will you make a announcement that you have received your shipment?
We expect them today, I will not do another video until backordered are filled
Wow what an awesome Head really nice features beats the heck out of the GTS I have I also am sold I might have to save up some sheckles for it, I have a 2021 RG Special with the RF amp in the rear bag and speakers all around
Thank you for watching!
Damn that looks good. Wish it was out when put a GTS in my 17 SGS.
Time to upgrade again
I have a 2022 EGS. No audio now except engine and wind sounds. Glad I waited to install infotainment system. This radio should do everything I want.
Absolutely
@@ncautolink this shows actual pressure on screen
@@volunteeraudio I’ll call you tomorrow, maybe it’s better for me to buy this radio instead of flashing my GTS radio. I was going to install Hertz speakers and Rockford amp. I already have them from my old bike.
So close to being a perfect replacement but falls just short with no wireless headset option. I’m a buyer once that wireless headset box is checked.

Direct plug and play with what I already have. thanks
Yes plug n play and retains boom audio stage 2
So looking forward to radio for my 03 electra gilde. I do this and have speakers put in bags.
Thank you for watching
Hi Jay, great videos and info. Just wondering what camera can be used with this radio?
Really any camera can be used, hertz has a new camera we will be using and we use this one also volunteeraudio.com/product/boyo-vtk501hd
Incredible!
It is, thank you for watching!
They should have two USB ports or make it so your phone connects wirelessly for Android auto / Apple car play. Need that USB port for a thumb drive to have music when you lose cell service. Lots of poor reception up here in NH. Love my system loud and clear!
We pass all these requests along for consideration on future models, thank you for watching!
If you lose your cell connection your Apple Maps, Waze, and Google are dead. Having the built in GPS will work anywhere.

I’ll pass the info on to Soundstream
Dang. I wish it had the CB and wireless headset.
V2 has wireless headsets, but no cb
Awesome video. Thank You. I have a "22 Road Glide Limited with BOOM GTS and 4 speakers. My wife and I ride a lot together and are currently using wired headsets to listen to audio and communicate with each other. I am aware there are no Bluetooth coms. Are wired headsets supported?
No wired or wireless headset capability
I saw it had IAT, but really enjoy seeing the ambient temp while riding. Is that option on the radio?
It has external air temp and ambient air temp as gauge options. One of the 2 should work as there are different options depending on engine ecm used
I'd love a new system but there are no installers in my area. I don't trust tearing my street glide down, much rather have someone who's performed this a few times.
Make a trip to Tennessee, we would be happy to do it
Jay, great info as always! 👍🏻 any talk of giving existing HDHU2014+ owners cursor control in android auto/car play? via the possible upgrade of the basic scosche module adaptor for new iDatalink Maestro module? 🙏🏻✊🏻🇬🇧

I ride cross country on a road glide ultra and the wife and I use the corded headsets for music and intercom; will it work with any one of these head units?
No the hdhu14+ and hdhu14si models do not support headsets, wired or wireless. The new V2 coming in January supports wireless headsets and will be the best radio available
@@volunteeraudio OK. My next trip isn't until may, so that's perfect. Thank you for the response.

Did you watch the video, I installed it on a 2014 police bike and yes the gauges work

How can I determine if I have the data module on my bike so I can use Maps via CarPlay? ET1(SS/SW/MTS) US Navy, Ret.
The model number is on the face of the radio, you probably have the hdhu14+
Apple CarPlay works by plugging your phone into the stock usb
I would love to have a front and rear permanently mounted cameras on my bike. Even better if it had night recording also. Any recommendations to hook up to that radio?
This is our favorite camera system for Harley volunteeraudio.com/product/kenwood-stz-rf200wd-motorsports-dual-camera-recording-systemf. , it uses a phone app for viewing, it will not connect to the radio
Can you eliminate the original gauge cluster and only use the head unit for the gauges?
If you do it may not start, and will store many diagnostic codes
In another video, I saw that you were talking about a Maestro MRr 2. module which could be programmed with an iPhone app. Did I understand well ? caer sweat your site you do not offer it for sale.
That module has been on backorder since December of 2021, you would also have to press a button on the mrr2 to connect via Bluetooth every time you connect which means the fairing would need to be removed
Did you have to change the main wiring harness on the 2014 police bike? They did not come with a stock radio connector or any factory provision to add a radio on the stock wire harness
You must add the police wiring ruclips.net/video/sCYuIFHTdzA/видео.html
Hi, the Soundstream Reserve HDHU.14Si looks amazing.
I am from Israel and our radio frequencies (Europe) are different from those in the United States, is it possible to change the radio frequencies in the settings of the HDHU.14Si device so that they match the frequencies in Europe. Two examples: for the frequency 91.8 FM and also 96.6 FM.
Yes once you pick your region it changes to European frequencies
The Harley head unit works.
Just not as well

The low fuel warning can be set to appear but with up to date maps through apple or google you can select nearest station and find the closest by selecting it in your maps.

Check out our video series on project five-0, our police bike, only difference is the controls that you buy
Watch this video, once you have the correct thumb controls installed the Si radio has amazing advanced thumb controls that will work with your police bike

I have not tested with factory sub add on yet, for sure the only way the radio would control it would be through rca
@@davidchamberlin9273 I think it will work but without testing it I cannot confirm that it will
@Volunteer Audio I wish I was in the area you could test on mine lol but stuck here in Michigan. I'm gonna try do more research as well thanks again Jay!
It has everything except a navigation system. I actually use my navigation.
I need a good marine radio... but I don't need all the HD adapters... and a good sunlight reduction screen...
This is it
What about the WHIM ? Do we still need to use that? Can you talk about headset connectivity?
This model does not support the whim or wireless headsets
I ride mostly with a full face and a Sena 30K HD edition headset so I can (sometimes) communicate hands free. I like having the CarPlay up while I'm riding but the controls for it suck. If I were to get the HDHU.14Si, what would I need to do to link it to my headset? Very interested and thanks for the video.
This radio does not send audio out to a headset
Thanks!
Yes it will work completely plug n play

are the issues with the touchscreen in rainy weather? Changing volume and / or radio stations .... ?
Anytime you have water on any touchscreen including your phone they have a hard time knowing what you are touching
Or Perhaps link Headset to Iphone and that would do it ? :) just for SIRI
It has Bluetooth, never seen an adapter that would just use the mic input, I have seen Bluetooth adapters for an aux input. There may be a future version that supports headsets if people keep asking for it but there is no way to add it to this radio
I’m curious, does this radio also have a weather band? I’m probably one of the few that actually uses it.
No weatherband but there are several great weather apps that are apple CarPlay apps, look at “on the way” weather app
Oil pressure shows only OK, or shows pressure in PSI too? Thks.
Yes, yes and yes!
I want to buy the radio from you but I need an installer that lives near me in Maryland. Do you have an installer network?
I do not, this radio is easy to install if you follow our step by step videos
I understand that the system does not support the bluetooth function for the microphone and the headset. But then, how can we receive route instructions from Carplay (Maps, Waze etc..) ? only in visual on screen, or in the HP ? If so, that's really not practical !
It plays through the bike speakers and has an included microphone to mount on the fairing
Would I even need my DSR1 still if I install this HU in my 22 RG ? Doesn’t sound like it
No you will not need a dsr1, I would go as far as to say it will sound better without it
Why not stand alone gps?? Phone not reliable since alot of areas are still dead zones. Do they plan on releasing one with gps on radio and not relying on a phone
Phone is very reliable, all phones have embedded gps chips that do not rely on cell service, this is a false idea that navigation stops in dead zones. Simply start your route before driving into a dead zone and the maps are downloaded to your phone
I’m trying to convert my 18 road king to a roadglide . Will this be compatible with my bike once I convert with my road king ?
It will fit the fairing, I would assume you would need a police bike radio harness to get the data turn on from the ecm and ability to add thumb controls
will gages work on 2014 street glide special
Yes
I noticed the gauges on the 14si in this video are red. Can they be changed from the default amber to another color?
Gauges are orange, that is the only gauge color option
I wanted to know does this radio add the TPMS functionality to my 2015 Street Glide Special reading the specs it appears to but I would need to add the TPMS sensors to my wheels since it did not come with them.
No, it only reads factory tpms data through the ecm
Will you still be able to use the turn signal buttons to "unlock" your bike if the fob fails?
This should not be affected
When the streaming Carplay add on is available can you let us know the part number
Yes we will launch a video going over the features
Would It be worth removing the HDHU14 for the HDHU14SI on a 2018 Street glide special? Can I use the HMP4D-SS Amplifier pre-wire for the 14 for the 14SI?
Harnessing would have to be changed on the amp, it’s really a cost vs feature question, if the added features merit the cost to you then yes, I love the HDHU14SI so far and I am swapping from the Hdhu14+ to it also
