Just got mine in the mail today. This thing is a BEAST. Great highs, thundering lows, plenty of power for all but the very largest venues. I love the easy to use controls... this thing has everything I could ever hope for. I think this is the best column array speaker on the market.
Thanks for the demo. It is the only sound demo I can find on this model. Of course it is limited by the recording and playback device but hey.... Think I will go and find one at a local dealer to test. Solo or Duo, this could be enough !
See my comments above.. but if you're just having one for a direct plug in guitar and mic scenario then you'll be really impressed - sound is as good as the Bose and is a LOT more powerful!
Ah, wish you had tested the loudness of a microphone! The JBL Eon One, is loud but with amazing fidelity when you plug in a mixer, but due to weak Mic pre-amps, the volume of a microphone plugged directly into it, is pitifully inadequate.
@@Realanda ok since you asked, I listened to the Bose L1 compact and was not impressed. So bought an Eon One without listening to it, directly from JBL. It won't win a beauty contest that's for sure. Heavy too at about 30 pounds without the column array. I plug mics and ( music through a Bluetooth receiver ) into a Mackie mixer. With that the sound is superb in fidelity. But now the Stagepas 1X has come to the market. I have not tested it but am sure it will be great. The Eon One Pro should be very good also but I've not tested it). JBL claims newly designed mic preamps on it. Bottom line, be sure to carefully audition (test and listen to) a PA speaker before you buy!
I've bought two these to work as part of a band scenario as well as just using one for solo stuff. I have found problems straight away with them though - if i want to use an external desk (in this case a Mackie ProFX12v2) then the preferred method to connect it is via XLRs from desk LEFT & RIGHT into the LINK input on the back of the unit.. but when you use this method for some reason it disables the Master Volumes on the units and will only go as loud as the desk allows - which isn't loud enough for a decent gig. However, after speaking to a Yamaha techie yesterday he suggested I input from the desk into one of the actual instrument/mic inputs (which DOES give you volume control).... this causes two new problems: if you choose to use the LINE level button then the signal is so weak that it's unusable, but using the MIC level button then goes the other way and the signal from the desk is too high and will distort... but there's no way to balance it all and have good volume. So far I'm not happy with it all. If I plug instruments directly into the Stagepas then there's plenty of scope for volume.. but having two of them I really need an answer to the problem of using them affective as a front of house PA system. Help? I sold my two Bose L1 Compacts for these (as these have the Bluetooth and Reverb built it) and although the sound is very comparable and they ARE more powerful if used directly, I'm feeling frustrated with them and still have a week to send them back. Any ideas?
Try going from Mackie (either XLR or 1/4" TRS) out to Left side 1k stereo 1/4" TRS inputs. Then from 1k Left unit out from Link out to the right side Link input on the other 1k. That's what the manual seems to suggest. On the left 1k, turn stereo on, on the right 1k unit leave stereo off.
@@matthewi.minnick5845 Thanks Matthew - I'll try that method... surely I'd need to use both the inputs though (Left and Right) otherwise I'll not be getting a stereo signal from the desk?
@@Bigtel1970 how did it go? On my Mackie ProFX4 to JBL Eon One connection, I use twin 1/4" cables to connect. It was awful using either of the XLR mic/line inputs. I guess the Line in really only works for guitars and instruments like that and not for mixers. If you did the same with one of your 1X units, and used XLR from "Link Out" on one to the Link -in on the other, I imagine you'd get a very satisfactory outcome?
How it sound`s? In specs 119db is low, stage pass 400i play`s 125db and that is nice level for 8` driver! I see that you have rcf in shop, can you compare it to RCF evox 8? Nice video!
The Evox 8 sounds better, a bit smoother in the top end, it has a different approach, the Yamaha still sounds good, but the crossover is set much higher, so the sub is doing more work than an Evox8, thats why the smoother response, but the Evox 8 does not have a mixer or streaming ability. Plus a bit more expensive. If you are using your own mixer, and don't mind the extra cost, I would do the Evox8. I think the Evox Jmix8 is more of a equivalent to the Stagepas
@@rockinrobin8821 The Jmix8/J8 have a plastic body for the sub, where the Stagepas is a wood box, so I prefer the sound of the Stagepas on the bottom end. Now for the top end, or higher frequencies, I prefer the RCF tops. But once again this is my opinion from what I have heard, these will perform differently in different situations. They are both very good units, The Jmix8, mixer section is allot more robust
if you connect 2 together, you can have it operate as a Left and Right stereo system based off of one of the mixer sections, or a dual mono, which will double the current channel count
Hi , does the monitor send keep the fx in the mix ? Also can the main mix be pulled down to nothing without effecting the monitor volume ? Thank You for your addressing these questions. Bud.
@@Bigtel1970 Hi found a real one in a shop today The answer is yes to both of my questions. FX stays in the monitor mix and monitor is unaffected by the main volume. So I'm very pleased. I wonder what happens when 2 are linked together. ??
@@budthebusker That's good news... If you use two linked together I'm not sure which one would become the MASTER and even if it would output ALL channels from both units into the monitor. The only drawback I've seen from the monitor function is that there are no individual channel send volumes. Might not matter too much as it possibly just emulates the same mix as what goes 'out front'.. I'll give it a go later this evening!
Melquis Alvares they are 2 different types of speakers , so you can’t really compare them unless it’s based off of a use situation. For volume , the DBR15 will win, for coverage, portability , built in mixer with effects, Bluetooth streaming , at a lower volume, the STAGEPAS
Thanks for this so many reviews but few do quality sound checks i could feel the bass through my comp speakers so it must have been bassey in real life and that was with just one so two would sound epic.
Can i connect two stagepas 1k (stereo mode) and then connect to.each one of.them another one, making a total of 4 stagepas working at the same.time with same sound source (mixer). If yes and adding one sub of 18", you can handle a party of 150 plus people including electronic music....is it possible? Thanks and sorry my poor english.
Stagepas has a monitor out, so you can hook that up and either add more units or subs, but since they are a line array, when you put them too close, you will cause phasing and overlapping, which will change the sound over 200 hz, so placement is very critical, with more
We test all our speakers with every playback option since we know, everyone will be using them differently. That being said, even with a lower quality playback, it was immpressive

How's the sound compared to a Bose L1C? Does it kick more?
See my comments above.. but if you're just having one for a direct plug in guitar and mic scenario then you'll be really impressed - sound is as good as the Bose and is a LOT more powerful!
the only downside is the eq. they should put separate hign and low level not combined. rather than that its all good to go.
They should update the SW and at least allow 3-band EQ via the app.
You can use a device for Audio and other device for control. Yamaha Stagepas 1K is an excellent sistem.

Yes it can, but it all depends on the size of the room, the crowd, and what type of music and at what volume
