    I really enjoy this trick. I'd appreciate any suggestions as to how to set this up with a shuffled deck whilst being watched. It doesn't feel like it should be too hard with a quick calculation, cull and false shuffles and cuts

    • @ULearnMagic
      @ULearnMagic  Год назад +1

      Some professionals are extremely bold and will just move cards around in front of an audience. They may act like they are looking for jokers or checking the deck or something. Then sometimes a false shuffle afterward to erase any doubts. I was always shocked when I first heard this, but I guess some guys are bold enough and work quickly and have the personality for it, and say that if you are just bold about things, you’d be surprised what actually flies in real life. I think Paul Gordon does this, and never really culls cards. Another option I’ve heard is to move the cards around, then say, “actually I’ll do a different trick” and pretend like you decided to do something different. Hope this helps at all. Thanks for watching!

    Is there a way to make this work with the cards face down instead of face up when you do the final reveal???

    • @ULearnMagic
      @ULearnMagic  Год назад +1

      The only thing I can think of is to possibly before the final reveal, do an overhand shuffle with the cards face up and run them off singly (one at a time) till about halfway through the deck and then throw the remaining pack on top. This will create the same order going down from the top as was going from the bottom of the deck with them face up. The only drawback is it will be a slightly lengthy shuffle so you will need to be good at pattering and do some talking during the procedure. Another option might be to just turn it facedown and deal from the bottom if you can justify it. If you want to be really bold you could do all bottom deals with the deck face down lol, but you better be pretty good at that 😄

    Thanks for teaching me a card trick. I just personally don’t like that using the cut cards and grabbing the one to the right of the cut could be called out

    Excellent ACAAN! Can the spectators choose any numbers from 1-52? If not, what range? Thanks 👍

    • @ULearnMagic
      @ULearnMagic  Год назад +2

      Thanks Darren! They can do up to 25 or 26 and I think it will still might work? BUT it may actually get a little dicey above 20, plus it gets into long counting, so I always limit it to a number between 1-20. Feel free to try a number up to like 25 though and let me know if that still works! Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!

      @@marcvr8686 Generally self-working is for beginners and this is my favorite of the self-working ACAAN. I wouldn’t underestimate it though, I performed it years ago and it got pretty good reactions. (Just remember what laymen think is good is usually not the same as magicians) 😊
      This was taped around time we were recovering from COVID, so I’m sure my voice was off. Thanks for noticing! ☺️

      @@ULearnMagic Haha, thanks for your reply :)
      Can you maybe have a look at Jason Ladayne's "self-working" acaan with the number and suit, but after he shuffles he takes 2 random cards and the number of cards dealt is decided by seemingly unloaded dice?
      It really stuns me and I really wanna learn it, but I can't find any tutorials online.. 😭
      Would love to hear your reaction! :)

      No problem! And thanks for watching! I had a look at a Jason Ladayne "self-working" acaan, but he didn't use dice in it. (But he did use two random cards, so maybe this is the one you are talking about). I don't know his method, but I had two methods in mind after watching it, or 2 ways I would do it, but after rewatching I did not see him using these. My thoughts are that this is some kind of new card control he is using. The 2 random cards might be pencil dotted so he can pull these out from the spread. And then he's getting the selected card in the position he needs somehow. I might come out with my own video on how I would do the trick to accomplish the same result. Cheers!

      @@ULearnMagic I thought the same :)
      I've searched the internet on other guys doing that trick, and one of them commented that there was only 15-30 secs preparation needed for a deck on only 3 cards, and then you could use it for your lifetime.
      He didn't specify the preparation, but as it is such little effort it should be a little mark from pencils I think. You can distinguish the value and suit card from the last card by putting the pencil marks in opposite corners.
      How he finds and controls the card to that certain location is still a mystery though 🥺
      The trick with dice I was talking about will be linked in my next comment:

    Doesnt work at all. Besides, what if the 2 cards selected were the same suit? eg 9 of spades and 2 of spades.
