Delicious with quality toppings. Sling a rope or extention cord under to fish it across. Its a nut, i think if ya peel it, there is something in there. Thanks for the video.

    Something I do when arriving at a site, before I even pull in, check I don’t have any power issues. First is checking the pedestal case isn’t hot, i.e. bad wiring. Then I’ll drive into the site and before doing anything else (i.e. chocking/levelling), I’ll plug the shore power into our electrical management system and check it’s happy. THEN I’ll set up and unhitch. I’d rather discover a shore power issue before I set up.

    • @PavingNewPaths
      @PavingNewPaths  Год назад +3

      That's a great tip and something we do as well! In 3 years of fulltime travel and over 150 campgrounds we have only had one site where the pedestal had problems! Not everything we do makes it on the videos!

  • @jamesbitb
    @jamesbitb Год назад +2

    Those falling from the tree look like Black Walnut. I know some of the things like the poles annoy you, yet I see why they are needed. I have seen many people just tear up the grass surfaces well of the entrance pads even when it wasn't needed. You negotiated all of them without a problem. I agree with the check-in at that KOA and the clearance issues. But really most of the obstacles you point out I don't even see as a challenge, just a marker like a curb on a paved road.

    • @PavingNewPaths
      @PavingNewPaths  Год назад +3

      I understand why they are using them as well, but the way they do it often times makes for either and difficult parking or difficult departure! It's not just a big rig thing either, a person with a 28ft bumper pull will be the same length as me and often times have more trouble than me negotiating these things! The point is not that I was able to navigate them with no problems, I should be able to I pull this thing fulltime I get a lot of practice, but what about the guy that only pulls his rig a few times a year? There has got to be a better way of laying camprounds out where you don't have to put up marker poles at every corner!

    • @jamesbitb
      @jamesbitb Год назад +2

      @@PavingNewPaths Actually I am pretty sure its the guy that only tows a few times a year tearing up the grass is why they are there.

    • @PavingNewPaths
      @PavingNewPaths  Год назад +3

      If they would build the campground with roads and sites set up correctly then there would be no need to drive on the grass to get in the site! And if there is no need to drive on the grass to get in the site then there is no need to put a pole there! The problem is not the pole its the design of the road and the site!

  • @johnstark4723
    @johnstark4723 Год назад +2

    Walnuts is what those things are. And i wish i had warned you about the Wal-Mart you went to. I'd have suggested the Greenfield one over Lawrence. It's a high crime area.
    And a little note about the creek that runs through the campground. Hancock County has 4 campgrounds, and that creek runs through 3 of them.

    • @PavingNewPaths
      @PavingNewPaths  Год назад +2

      We didn't know what they were, but they will get you if the wind starts blowing! That creek was pretty cool but also super inconvenient if you are trying to walk back and forth between the two sides of the park!

    • @johnstark4723
      @johnstark4723 Год назад +1

      @PavingNewPaths S&H is the same but even harder to turn around in with big rigs. They too are on both sides of the creek. Heartland is the easiest to maneuver around but can be a bit tight at times. The other campground is about impossible to get around with large trailers.

    You were in my neck of the woods, kinda. I live in Dayton. Your kids are all too cute! She did sound just like her mom how everything is cute 😄. Did you guys try Gold Star Chili or Skyline Chili while in Cincinnati? I hope you enjoy Kentucky, its always so laid back & slower paced there when i used to go visit my family in Bardstown.

      We heard all about it and didn't get a chance to try it out! We actually just did outside fun when in Ohio and we decided not to go explore downtown Cincinatti! I can tell you we are already loving the fall change in this part of the country!

    Well you two look refreshed. Hope you are all 100% feeling better. Funny we just left a campsite with the same challenges that you had. A hair pin turn to get to our site, you know how that goes when you tow a big rig, slow and steady. Plus our power was also on the passenger side of the rig. But our sewer dump was under the rig….. go figure!!! What were they thinking???

    Wow KOA's have gotten really expensive. I can realate to the whole restraunt indession. It take us 20 minutes to decide where we want to eat. On top of that we end up throwing out food because it goes bad. If you do the numbers it is crazy how much money you would save by changing your life style. We are in the midst of changing that. As I stated before we are downsizing and can hardly wait to start our RV life style. Another great video guys.

      We started this year off really good eating right and not spending money on eating out! Then somewhere along the east coast we started eating out and enjoying the local restaurant's and it spun out of control on us! So now we are back to eating better and working out again! Yes KOA's have gotten really expensive!

    I’m sorry, but you’re always complaining about campgrounds putting poles or planting trees or other things in your way. Yet you’re driving a 4 door F350 pulling what I think you said was a 45ft beast!!! Do you think maybe it’s you?? Granted it’s a beautiful rig and you do have a family living full time in it, but still not everyone drives that kind of rig. Cut the campgrounds some slack!! FYI I do like the videos!!😊

    • @PavingNewPaths
      @PavingNewPaths  Год назад +6

      I do like to give them a hard time because they need to stop making it hard for everyone to get to their sites! Did you know that a 28 ft bumper pull hooked to a 3/4ton short bed truck is just as long as me? But since I am a fifth wheel it is actually easier for me to get in the sites than a the guy with the 28ft rig hooked to his bumper! So before you say the problem is the guy with the 45ft rig, you should understand we are not as big as you think we are, and the things we point out are things that would help anyone!

    • @RobertMurray-b1e
      @RobertMurray-b1e Год назад +2

      @@PavingNewPaths please understand I wasn’t trying to be mean. I actually only do bumper pulls. And yes I actually used to pull a 32ft double slide beast, so that hooked to my 4 door truck was 53ft long. Yes I’ve been in some very tight situations and what was I thinking predicaments. But I only had myself to blame. That’s also why after my wife died I downsized and now pulling only a 20 footer! Much easier for me to handle on my own! 😁😁

      @PavingNewPaths hehehe, yeah, and me with a 35' bumper pull and 3/4 ton HD, I know the fun it can be 😅. Just like where I'm parked now. One person couldn't believe I put it in this spot and they don't see how I will get out when I leave. Just takes practice 😉
