The scholarship about “biblical” times helped me finally break away from Christianity and seek a spirituality that made sense to me. I’m still on that road - modifying my belief system as new ideas resonate with me - but they have to resonate with me to my core. This channel has helped me move toward a place where I am less critical of those who are steeped in traditional religious beliefs. I have moments when all the judgment seems to be gone and then I read about something not very good that someone has done in the name of religion and the judgment creeps back in. But I’m making progress - I know intellectually that the judgment serves no purpose but I haven’t yet been able to let it go emotionally.
I always believed souls like Buddha, Jesus, Moses, Muhammad, Krishna are at that level where writing something or not writing something doesn’t matter. They loved and showed compassion and kindness as their religion. That’s all that mattered. What Man does with their message is the free will of man. They don’t think in success/failure or win/lose mindset. It’s all about love like you say John.
Presently, the only thing I believe is that we should love each other - everything else is debatable. I have been leaning this way for many years, and watching your videos has strengthened my conviction even more. I am grateful I found your channel. I first saw you on a different channel & I've been watching both of your channels ever since.
I now live in a loving world.. just by changing my thoughts to be loving..much love many blessings as always smile 😁 I am the light and the way fallow me.
"In the beginning was the Word ... " I wonder what the word was? Love, maybe? We sure have confused things over time by dividing the one Word into a zillion words. Thanks for making things so simple, John. You make so much sense. 🙏
Many religions reference a sound in the beginning, as the start of everything. The Word. The Om/Aum. Hue. Even science speculates about "the Big Bang". I interpret "the Word" as Spirit essence of Creation, not in a so called holy concept but as a fact. An atom splitting into 2 then again splitting and then recombining etc as it is represented on the periodic table.
I read The Gospel of Thomas, I read The Jesus you didn't Know by Phillip Yancy, I graduated the course of the ELCA Lay Minister and was our substitute pastor. Let's just say One doesn't know if the shoe fits until he wears it a while. Like you a recovering Catholic, I'm a recovering Christian and am greatfull of your friendship with Jeshua. Your messaging is inspiring to expose the great teacher he was and still is .
Oh! Thank you, thank you, thank you for answering this question! 🙏💜😊 I am on a learning road and the more and more I feel and think about the present moment and love, the more joyful I am. ¡Gracias!
I took a course in 1986 called Jesus and Interpretation at York University taught by James Breech, l told him that parables are a Buddhist tradition, he claimed that there was no contact between the two cultures, in 1988 it came out that the silk road was much older, so his theory didn't age well. I heard he may have left the university after that but l don't really know. It is quite amazing now that there is so much more scholarship on the early years of Jesus now. Back then, we were just analyzing the authenticity of which parables had the same author
I enjoy listening to Bart Ehrman break down things in the bible. He is mostly critical of it, primarily regarding inaccuracies which is entirely true. He is an athiest I believe but he is an actual biblical historian, not the type a biblical scholar that is biased on the side of Christianity. I enjoy his takes on things.
He was an evangelical Christian all the way through learning Greek and reading the earliest copies of biblical text. Eventually this deep dive made him rethink his beliefs. But he still loves the bible as literature and is very much a scholar of it.
@@davidbritnn Ueah Ive heard him say that he was a hardcore fundamentalist himself at one point. Ive listened to several of his interviews and debates and always enjoy his knowledge and views on things
Hi there, I feel being judgemental is a totaly normal thing for the ego mind which we all have as a human. And the reason for this negativity is always that we feel seperate from god. That we miss his/her love so much. So, let's be gentle with ourselfs and make peace with these enoying thoughts that often fill our heads. Lots of love.😀💖
Yeshua probably didnt expect a whole religion to be created from his life story. He was about changing lives and hearts in his present incarnation. He was also very much about simplicity and carrying about screeds of writing would have been an encumberance with all his travelling I imagine.
Have you read the Gospels of the Essene's? It left a big impact on me about the detoxing Jesus had these people go through like through air ,water, sun and earth cleansing them. And the talk about the Father God and Mother Earth and eating from their table. Could you speak on this a little ? Do you remember in your experience Jesus detoxing people like it speaks of in the Essene Gospels ?
Oftentimes, master teachers who were followed by students did not personally write their teachings down, but had a student-scribe that wrote down whatever was needed. It is believed by some that Thomas was the scribe of Yeshua's group. There is a Gospel of Thomas that has been found, though many years after Thomas's time. A popular author named Gary Renard has many books and videos available. He believes he was Thomas, and one of his books has the version of the Gospel of Thomas that he believes is close to the original meaning. (It's in English, so we are looking for meaning in this case, I would think.) Gary Renard's books: "Disappearance of the Universe," "Your Immortal Reality," "Love Has Forgotten No One," and "The Lifetimes When Jesus and Buddha Knew Each Other" are all super popular and fun to read.
The Gospel message, to me, is the Good news of God's [Prime Creator] Love for all creation, humanity, male, female, all forms of life because they are all of that essence, spirit in some form of manifestation, by many names. The fact is, all are connected, not separate. I rejoice in the truth being revealed again. Becoming One is the consciousness we desire because the Kingdom of God is within. It never left. We can bask in that beautiful light always shining with confidence whereby we know and can feel it from/within our hearts.❣💥
How can we more “easily” view everyone equally in love without immediately jumping to conclusions, as we have been programmed to do by our society since we were young? I desire to love all humans equally, and find myself struggling with those who are cruel to others, let alone my brain immediately filters people into good people and those to avoid, when we are all of God. Any suggestions? Loved this message, and love you John of New. Your content is so enlightening and refreshing.
I understand how you feel. Maybe if I give you a little insight into my experience you will find it helpful. The people that are hurtful and destructive to others I “leave to God” which means I say at this point in time I am having a hard time reconciling my feels towards them and I don’t want to do harm to them or myself by engaging in anger and hate. In time I get an understanding of circumstances that lead people to behave negatively towards others. I separate the actions from the soul. This does not mean you then engage with them because that is harmful to you. First and foremost love and protect your mind, body, heart and soul. Going forward I always ask myself if my thoughts, words and actions are in alignment with loving kindness towards myself and others. If so I am at peace. If not it just means I’m still on my journey to wholeness. Just the fact that you want to be more loving means you are on the right track. Be kind to yourself 😊
Beautiful words from maureenb. And remember, don't take on the whole world at once 😊 just deal with each person as you encounter them and choose to be loving in your actions and words. I've had to deal with a few very difficult people in my life. I had to let go of the anger and choose to love them (in my head, but also not acting in anger when dealing with them). In many cases, they just drifted out of my life. I hope that makes sense.

I wonder what your opinion is of the book the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi? I read it in the early 70s and it seemed to resonate with me. I must have lost my copy, so I just ordered a new hardback copy to reread. Thanks for your wisdom and insight. And keeping it short simple and sweet. These days, I seem to be almost addicted to watching spiritual RUclips channels. Most of the discussions seem to go on for at least an hour or more, which can be interesting. But I feel that their messages could be condensed down without losing The essential messages.
all channeled messages come through the filter of the one channeling. the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus the Christ by Levi was channeled in 1908 in the early days of theosophical society. take what you like throw away the rest.
Don't know what you know about Mormon/LDS tradition, but it does say that "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly." There is an acknowledgement that the Bible has been through translations, etc. and things may have been lost or altered along the way.
Maybe Jesus didn't want his words written in stone for those in power to use as weapons against the people. Jesus was all about the love, the principle of loving God and each other, not how many sacrifices were required or how to worship on the sabbath. Follow the principles not the words that can be taken out of context and twisted to "prove " almost anything.

John, What is your take on the 'shift to a new earth' others are talking about? Are we literally going to shift to a new physical earth, by the choices we make, and the awareness of those choices - so much so, that those who make vastly different choices, or who choose a much different path than the one we are on, will no longer be in 'our reality' or our 'new earth' that we have shifted to? It is being said that the new earth already exists. I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask here.

Yes, I am of the Christian faith but have considered myself to be more spiritual than religious. I have many questions.
