To me it is just fascinating how man can immediately feel the Power and Quality of Baby-Floor. It is not at all a surprise that she went up her way to be called Queen of Metal - and that she truly is.
You see Sa'eed, Floor's poetry life stood still when she joined Nightwish. There she met a fellow poet Tuomas. But before with After forever and her own band Revamp and now her solo debut, she was and is a songwriter in heart and soul; undeniable! That she is perhaps the best singer in her genre in the world at this moment is coincident. A once in a century coincident that is so to say. Greetings from the country above yours.
After Forever was one of the early pioneers in the genre that would become known as symphonic metal. Floor joined them as a backup singer in 1997 when she was 16 years old. She soon became lead. They produced several albums until they disbanded in 2009. Floor recently put some After Forever music videos up on her YT channel, re-mastered in HD. My favorite is their 2006 hit "Energize Me": ruclips.net/video/nXjBEfFOSVI/видео.html . Even back then, all the qualities that we know and love about Floor were evident.
Man that was fast Saeed, Thank You ......Glad you liked it . After Forever was an amazing band , Floor was devestated when they decided to end . More coffee and AF coming
Awesome request and reaction, Saeed! Love hearing the roots of where the Goddess of Metal started! I envy those who were already fans of her way back then. Last year Floor released her first ever solo album. I think you'd really enjoy the track "My Paragon," the music video of which features two younger versions of Floor. Very creative music video and a great song.
Floor's singing with After Forever was mostly operatic. On the first few albums she was in the credits as Soprano rather than Vocals. For more AF, I'll recommend one of my favorites; Come. Great combo of her operatic and power singing. Also lyrics written by Floor. Sounds like being lured to something sinister, but it's all "in your mind".
Wow!!! Thank you for introducing me to this song. I'm kind of late to the after Forever party, and I did not know this one..... What a unique talent....
I Love Floor since 2002. Man, I would like to suggest so many things she has done. Without a doubt, she is the best singer of all time. You've already heard Evoke, Estranged, Monolith of doubt, among others by after forever, or Disdain, Neurasthenia by revamp. listen, they're amazing. Thank you very much for remembering this magical time for Floor.
After Forever is so underrated. This all album is great, my personal favorite songs are Monolith of Doubt (I do recommend also the 2002 live version: ruclips.net/video/3TmKHkQx45U/видео.html ), Emphasis, Estranged and Forlorn Hope
She was 19 when they recorded this album. One of my favourites live After Forever is Follow in the cry 2004 at Pinkpop ruclips.net/video/BNZvf0aur8o/видео.htmlsi=vwOfKXQQGfsHFcrX Her singing technics and voice developed a lot that time
I'm fairly sure that the lead instrument is the English horn - an oboe. It has a more melancholic sound than most other woodwinds. The lyrics was written by Floor, while the music was composed jointly by Floor, Mark and Sander. As I understand their music writing process, Floor would produce the lyrical melody while the guitars and other parts were written by the rest.
I would not mind if there was a box set with After Forever cd's (hey, I am 64, I like to collect physical music object instead of streaming, and my vinyl player has long been disconnected). Strange enough, for a moment the vocals made me think of Greg Lake singing on the first King Crimson album, Epitaph.
Even though she was only 20 when this album came out she was already evolving into the goddess that she is today. After Forever started as a prog-metal band, but Floor talked them into changing it to symphonic metal. This was the result. She was 16 when she started fronting for them.
@@SaeedReacts. sorry to say that, but it is the other way round. If you want, they started like a "symphonic" band but after Mark Jansen was left, they implemented progressive elements. I am quite sure Floor brought that from Ayreon/Star One projects...
and this is why the current floor with nightiwish is just a fractured fragment of herself. not hard to understand why it broke her so much when they disbanded 😞
It sounds like an oboe? Very progressive in their early recordings. Here is one to hear the more intense young Floor. ruclips.net/video/rhC3UrghELs/видео.html - After Forever - Equally Destructive Live at Masters Of Rock (2007)
@@SaeedReacts. While we're on the subject of Floor's past, you might be interested in a completely different side of Floor. After "After Forever" she founded "Revamp". You'll be surprised - but be careful: you won't expect it... start with the song: Disdain (live by Graspop - 2010) - Nightwish fans love this too... ruclips.net/video/iNSf64M9uA0/видео.htmlsi=674KdfAr-_8qbpd4
I found Floor from colleagues in training with me in Job Corp all the way back in 2002 I've been a fan of Floor since that day more than i am a member of the NightWish Army... Just saying

Wow! Thanks for sharing that. Amazing writing on this one. And the vocals 🤯. Groetjes!
After Forever was such an underated band… and Floor ❤️

I was right at my laptop when i got the notification 😀. Thanks for this one! Really enjoyed it. Great lyrics and music!
@@SaeedReacts.They'll be more coffee and After Forever to come ......they were every bit as good as Nightwish at that time
Oboe is what is carrying the music in the early part. Such a beautiful, mournful sounding instrument.
Thanks so much! Yes it does sound mournful. Really beautiful.

Great song. Definitely want to hear some of her solo music as well. Thanks for watching.
Floor always was complete and amazing.
The band is very good too, they deserved better luck.

This is my favorite After forever song, glad you reacted to that one first
Beautiful song.
Mine Too!
The GODDESS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Thanks for joining me at this party where i am also very late for 😅
@@SaeedReacts. And I love your "R" in "FlooR". I could not reproduce that 😅🫣
Cuz theeeeeeeeereee is sooooo muuuuuch… more of After Forever to explore!😁
Definitely want to explore more 😀

Very beautiful
The Queen at the start of her reign!🤘🎸
Love this song. Entire album is a masterpiece 💙👌

I recommend a Pinkpop 2004 version of Monolith
I Concur
I was going to request Forlorn Hope but I chose this instead .....next time

This is a true masterpiece... what else to say?
The end is cut because it goes immediately into another song
Ooh, thanks for letting me know! Great song

Thanks for this info! Really love the sound of that instrument in this song.
The cut off is so harsh cause it immediately flows into another song (Zenith) in the album 🎵 Another amazing song!
Thanks for letting me know.
I’m corrected, that instrument seems to be a oebo 🫢
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this info.
Sorry, no that is an oboe, not a bassoon. Irma Kort is in the album credits for playing oboe on Intrinsic.
“Wondering if Nightwish fans are watching this”…I am a NW fan, but this is better❤
Dont have to wonder anymore then 😀❤️
You have to do Forlorn Hope from this album...just as epic.
I'm going to buy that next

Indeed! A hired gun, making way more money while doing way less. I guess she’s happy with that. But those who know her from way back are not.

Bro you gotta check out more After forever and Revamp live video's and music video's. That will be cool.
I think the instrument is oboe

She is amazing. Will check out her solo stuff too. Only reacted to 2 covers she did, but will do more.
❤
❤️
Shouldn't that be an Oboe?
I just looked it up. I think we call it a Hobo in Dutch.
