My Kurt and Nirvana Playlist - Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, Foo Fighters
• Kurt Cobain, Nirvana, ...

Kurt Cobain, in full Kurt Donald Cobain, (born February 20, 1967, Aberdeen, Washington, U.S.-died April 5, 1994, Seattle, Washington), American rock musician who rose to fame as the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the seminal grunge band Nirvana.
Cobain had a generally happy childhood until his parents divorced when he was nine years old. After that event, he was frequently troubled and angry, and his emotional pain became a subject of, and catalyst for, much of his later music. As a teenager, he moved between various relatives’ houses, stayed with friends’ parents, and occasionally slept under bridges while he began to use drugs and take part in petty vandalism as forms of teenage rebellion. Cobain was musically inclined from an early age, and in the mid-1980s he began to play with members of the local “sludge rock” band the Melvins (who would themselves go on to earn a measure of national fame in the 1990s). In 1985 he created a homemade tape of some songs with the drummer of the Melvins that later caught the attention of local bassist Krist Novoselic. Cobain and Novoselic formed Nirvana in 1987 and thereafter recruited a series of drummers to record demo tapes with them and play small shows throughout the Northwest.
One of the group’s demo tapes found its way to Jonathan Poneman of the Seattle independent record label Sub Pop, which signed the band to produce its first single, “Love Buzz”, in 1988 and its first album, Bleach, in 1989. The album had a unique (and soon-to-be signature) sound that mixed the rawness of punk rock with pop hooks, and the group soon became a target of major record labels. With new drummer Dave Grohl (who joined the band in 1990) Nirvana released its major-label debut, Nevermind (1991), which featured the hit single “Smells like Teen Spirit”; it became the first alternative-rock album to achieve widespread popularity with a mainstream audience. Nevermind catapulted Nirvana to worldwide fame, and Cobain came to be hailed as the voice of his generation, a title that he was never comfortable with.
In 1992 Cobain married Courtney Love, then the leader of the band Hole, and the couple had a daughter that same year. The following year Nirvana released its final studio album, In Utero, in which Cobain railed against his fame. Cobain had long suffered from depression and chronic stomach pain. He treated his issues with drugs: Cobain was a frequent user of heroin in the years after Nirvana’s breakthrough, and he took a variety of painkillers in an attempt to numb his constant stomach agony. In March 1994 he was hospitalized in Rome after overdosing and slipping into a coma. One month later he snuck out of a Los Angeles-area drug treatment centre and returned to his Seattle home. His life ended on April 8th, 1994. - Развлечения
I'm a year older than Kurt. What a talented young man he was. Sometimes I think he didn't realize how talented he was, and how people love him.
If he did realise it, he wouldn’t have liked it, that’s the person he was.
Kurt had his whole life ahead of him and gone too soon .. very sad ..My Uber driver is from Seattle and he was telling me all the local places Nirvana played and how he met his wife at a Nirvana concert Fascinating . Thank you Scott for persevering history of Kurt , A lot of us grow up listening too ✌️✌️✌️ out
Courtney did it
I think most intuitive people can figure that out it’s a shame mostly for his daughter. She seems alright though. In this business you have to be intelligent and creative but who would’ve thought it was also full of psychopaths. It seems like he was self destructive in a way so he suffered for his art but definitely met his match by falling for her
The irony of Aberdeen using Kurt Cobain and Nirvana as a tourist attraction should never be lost on anyone, knowing how they deeply hated that place. Our little group has always been and and always will, until the end. Love you Scott and your efforts and everything you do.
I'm not entirely sure that Kurt always hated Aberdeen/Montesano/Hoquiam. I think he loved it as a child, up until the 'legendary divorce'. From then on, the area was kind of tarnished for him. Mind you, it was a pretty depressing place, even at the best of times.
There were many people living there that Kurt had nothing in common with- uneducated, working class battlers- in the logging and/or fishing industries- with their trucker caps, domestic violence and alcoholism.
Obviously there were a few like-minded people around, like Krist Novaselic, Buzz Osbourne and a few others, but it really wasn't until Kurt moved to Olympia that he started to meet people more on his level. After that, he never looked back.
yes i thought of that too, it's like he died but the horrible town lives on and is stronger for having destroyed him.
Wow! Nirvana was so influential to me and my wife, married in 1993 and ready to celebrate #30 this September. Thanks Scott for putting this one together! Love your content!
That's pretty cool! Happy anniversary! Crack out some 'In Utero' and rock out haha "-)
Nirvana is my favourite band of all time. Anything with Nirvana in the title, I'm watching (as long as it's based on respect for the band that is.)
This was another great video, Scott! Thanks so much for sharing, I love how much you love Nirvana.
You can see the joy in your eyes & hear it in your voice when you are at a Kurt/Nirvana location. It was just kismet that you went to the Eagles Hall & you were able to go inside. Much thanks to Harmony for his time & putting your card in the display board. It was such a kind gesture. Scott, you captured another unique perspective to Kurt’s life. Appreciate you, as always. Take care.
Nirvana is one of my favourite bands too , I always get excited when I see these videos you do . Thanks Scott for sharing this ❤️
He was a precious little boy and handsome growing up. I have never seen any pics other than the Kurt everyone knows. Thanks for the video, Scott! 💙. RIP, Kurt!
Scott, my friend, I always love learning & seeing more about Kurt. It's so interesting. He/Nirvana was one of my favorite bands. It just makes me feel so sad that he is gone & not in this world making more great music. We love you, Kurt...REST IN PEACE ❤❤
I love the video's of Kurt Cobain. Thank you for making this. It's awesome. 💞
There's a church above my home that flashes their preaching hours on an electronic sign. Then it says, "Come As You Are". I always sing Nirvana as I pass it.
that’s amazing
yes!! another scott on tape video! also loved the livestream yesterday ❤️
Thank you so much !
Just want to say that I appreciate the work and research you put into your videos. I know it can be exhausting and time consuming. Thank you Scott for taking us on some cool rides! ❤
Thanks for this, Scott! ALWAYS interested in anything Cobain.
Would I be correct in thinking that his very first home was actually a garage that was remodeled into a small house, formerly a garage of the house that was his second home? It doesn’t seem to be much bigger than a one car garage.
That’s probably true it does indeed look like a garage !
Hi Scott awesome video as always I absolutely love Nirvana there are one my favorite bands ever ❤thanks for sharing this you are absolutely the best ❤
Kurt was the Best!
He changed the World!!
Whoa. The “as you are” on the guitar memorial. That gave me immediate feels. 😢 hard to believe he’s been gone so long. .Another great video!
This video was so awesome! Thank you for taking us through the town from where Kurt was born to where he would play in Nirvana. A very unique video indeed. Well done! Kurt lives on through us!!!
Many thanks for taking us along on this journey. I had heard many years ago that popular kids of the school gave him the dubious distinction of a guy most likely to shoot up the high school. That really hits a nerve with me and many others who were the outcast in their schools. Kurt was just a quiet guy who opened his heart to everybody. I recall hearing about how he was ostracized for befriending a fellow student who was gay. People really are despicable. I say this a lot but I’ll say it again. I wish he was alive.
Most of us do.
Lord he was so attractive. If he lived I wonder if he'd have given me a chance after his divorce which he was trying to do.
The world needs Kurt back.
You have high aspirations.
That town is so cute. Some of those views were just beautiful. I love that little house (the 2nd one) his family moved into. I also absolutely love that memorial stone to Kurt at the memorial park! Seems like he was huge impact on many people. Congrats to the class of 2023. The days feel like forever, but you all made it! Thanks for a great video, Scott. You made me a fan!
I’m glad you’re now a fan Flo! And thank you so much for your support and generosity always !
R.I.P Kurt. It's amazing the mark he left on the world in such a short span of time.
Nice! I'm looking forward to watching this!

Great video, thank you! Loved your personality coming through as well, haven't had a good giggle in a while. Thanks for being authentic. Peace out bro ♡
I live in Tacoma. Im a couple yrs younger than Kurt. But they were so big back in the day. I absolutely love all your video's about Kurt. My daughters dad worked with Kim, his sister. I meet her once. She looked just like her brother. I swear they looked like twins. RIP Kurt🕊🕊🕊🕊
The little house is the garage of the bigger house converted into a house from the looks of it. Could be wrong but it looks like it to me.
Love your channel and, please would you do a Chris Cornell video?
I love Kurt and, Chris was proud of the Seattle sound!!!
Loved this video. Kurt as a little baby and his beginnings. Wow he moved Alot!
I have a feeling they were renters.
So sad to see the happy pictures of him as a kid before the sad nonsmiling ones when he's older. Awesome video Scott. 👏
Sadly without drugs he wld ve been happier and licked depression. I m thinking.

RIP Kurt Cobain and I liked and shared this video 📹 out your welcome Scott.
Awesome stuff Scott. Love when you do videos on my favorite musician Kurt Cobain. Really good stuff I thought Kurt's old house burnt down but it wasn't his house it was a museum of some sort. Love you Scott and thank you so much for taking the time to make these amazing vlogs/videos. Have a great day my friend and Come As You Are.
Thank you John #nirvanaforever
Hi Scott, enjoyed my first time on live with you yesterday. You even read one of my posts out loud. I told you that I had a procedure done on Friday and I was all in pain but still came on to your live cast last night. Keep up the great videos. You give great info. On your videos and I love the way you leave rocks. You should come to Calgary and do a video on the Hart family. Take care! Debbie from Calgary
Thank you Debbie! And if you search my channel you will find a video filmed in Calgary about the Hart family ❤️
I was born in 1976 and I love Nirvana 🎉 Thanks for the videos 😊Scott x love from England 🏴
I love the Kurt videos, I like all the videos tho. ❤✌️
You are really on the prowl Scotty.
Love that Welcome to Aberdeen Sign!!! Great Video, Bravo Scott.
My favorite video yet! I was born on Kurt’s 4th birthday. It was amazing to see where he was born and where he spent his childhood. I MUST make it up there to see all of this! ❤
Respect thank you for bringing us back there!
I'll be honest I'm not a huge Nirvana fan. I have to give credit where credit is due. Kurt and his life are very interesting. He was before his time in the music industry. He led the grudge period into the success it was. If he were here today there is no telling where he'd be. He was an icon in life and is a legend in death. It's very sad to think of the shining star that he was, was taken from the sky the way it did. RIP Kurt. Love too Francis Bean.
Love the Kurt Cobain videos.
Thank you for sharing this journey with us.
Good Evening Scott 🙋🏽. 👍🏽😃
Thank you, Scott for this fantastic impromptu video. I've watched many videos and documentaries on kurt Cobain and Nirvana, but I enjoy yours the best. There's a sort of bond, a sort of connection I always sense from yours. Keep up the great work!

Those houses are small but they look so quaint and peaceful. The little neighborhood looks clean and like a nice place for kids to grow up.

Did you ever visit the site of their first concert in 1987 under the name Skid Row?It is the World Theater in Tacoma 56th and M Street it is now a church but the building still stands. They played there 6 times under the name Pen Cap Chew,Bliss,Ted Ed Fred and finally under the name Nirvana in 1988.
Not yet 😊
Hi Scott it’s Debbie from Calgary. Thanks for the info on the Hart video I found it and watched it. I live down the street from the Hart house. I remember that day he died, very sad indeed. I also thought that it was wrong they continued the event after the accident. And I saw you left a rock on his grave, awesome! I know the dungeon room. Hope you can come back to Calgary one day again, maybe for our Stampede. Take care. Debbie
Great to see mate! Big love from London x

Aww how cute, even when he was little aww x
I love alll your kurt and nirvana videos. Thank you for all the info. I will get there one day... hopefully rent out the pear appartment too
I still don't think Kurt Cobain took his own life
He didn't. Follow the money trail
CL has a rediculously long criminal history
He may not have known that " abandonment" is a BPD / histrionics most vulnerable point. However, the 38 million may have assuaged her guilt. One other was involved; it's easy to kill a junkie.
❤
I was just there last weekend I want to go back every few months the feeling I had was chilling and amazing
Another amazing video! Thanks again, Scott!
Harmony is a great name!
I think so too !
Great Video Scott
that was cool how you got to see two more of his houses from your friend that is great to see more of his history and that bridge has a lot of memories to bad it cant talk.. and it was funny how you said about the doctors get to park closer to the hospital instead of the patients they sure don't care about how patients need to get in faster. That guy that let you in Harvey? was a sweet guy to let you in to see the first concert they played in but that city sure had a lot of fires i wonder why but thanks for sharing with us!!
Wow it’s beautiful there!! It’s hard to cope with addiction especially when you’re a rock star and have access to anything you want!! RIP Kurt Cobain!!
Hey Scott I saw your first video at the pear st apt and I name dropped you lol I was able to get in for 3 days on his birthday weekend this year it was such a cool experience and she was super cool
i remember here in Australia the best way at the time to hear this sort of music was to sit up on the weekends and watch a show called rage. They played music basicaly till the sun came up. I was learning guitar i would sit up smoke a little pot play around with my guitar and find all this incredible music. This was before a radio station called triple j came to my town so it was rage or commercial radio which i didnt like much. The first 2 times i heard smells like teen spirit it blew my mind. I would record songs on video to show friends , i was always trying to shove new music down my friends throats and that song blew my mind i was so excited to show my friends this new sound , My playing got better i played localy with friends there was a bit of a grunge explosion here and man do i miss playing those huge house parties, and parties in this forest nearby and im certain Nirvana fuelled most of it
Great video! I’ve been to those places of Kurt. Aberdeen is a trip.
