    So this truss you have built can span , end to end 48’ with no middle posts ?

      @MrPostFrame  11 месяцев назад

      This one will have a couple posts 16’ from each end. I talked to my engineer and he’d probably approve it for free span depending on location (snow load).

      That’s a well built truss then … do you have a video of the metal plates attached and in place ?

    Are the structural screws enough to hold it together or are the metal connectors needed?

    From the sound of it, you needed a new blade.

      Still waiting on county permits! I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll get to put it up!

    This is why boat builders have been using lofting floors for thousands of years. Of course, now they use full size prints. But it came out very nice.

    Great thing about RUclips is you can compare a lot of others doing the same thing but others might be better than you. Good job but you are not on the same level as some timber frame craftsmen like The Beam Guy who not only lumbers, mills & creates wood jointerny in his heavy timber designs. No craftsmanship shown other than cutting wood!!! Not even a true truss design.

      Absolutely! That's the great thing about RUclips. I don't consider myself a timber frame craftsman or professional. The goal of my channel is to educate and equip other DIYers when it comes to building post frame structures. I priced this out and two timber companies wanted $15-20K to construct. I'm going to build it for roughly 1/3 of that price. Thanks, Dennis!

    Why only one truss?

    • @srchubz

      for a porch area, assuming the visible front one

    • @MrPostFrame
      @MrPostFrame  11 месяцев назад +2

      This is for their open porch area that extends off the back of the structure. Since it is open and exposed they decided to go with a large timber truss instead of the standard truss.
