  • Welcome back to ONE ROLL. Took one of the favorites out to the Tokyo/Ginza area and shoot around sundown.
    If you know me I love this film and I had a lot of fun shooting it, and thinking about the living city that is Tokyo.
    Enjoy!
    Animations by: Craig Mederios / crgmdrs
    Music by: Lofi Geek, LATASHÁ, DJ Williams, DJ Freedem, and NoMBe.
    Filmed on the Canon EOS R
    Thanks again for watching!

    Thank you for the lovely tour of Ginza and the great pictures. This is probably the best 'non technical' film on Lomo 800 I've seen. It clearly shows the allround capacity and quality of the film. I've bought some recently and now I will not be hesitant to try it out anymore. Arigato !

      Of course! Thanks I'm glad you like my approach. I feel that there are a lot of channels out there that are greatly technical and I really appreciate them. Here I really just want to give an impression or feeling about the film and what one could use it for. Thanks for picking up on it and enjoy your film!

      Thanks! Yeah the Lomo 800 is such a great film. I actually shot three rolls of the color negative 400 in medium format this weekend. The results are pretty nice and I will be presenting some in a my next video. Overall I'm pretty impressed with both offerings.

    I've just recently tried Lomo 800, it definitely has a distinctive look which I like. I've used Portra 800 quite a bit because I found it to be the most "pushable" film for very low light situations. Not sure how pushable Lomo 800 is, I need to test it a bit more. Thanks for the video...

      Thanks! Yeah I'm not sure. I don't push any films, but that would be interesting to to see! Let me know what you find out! Maybe I'll have to give it a try!

    I think Lomo800 is actually Kodak Gold 800. Long ago, Kodak Gold was available in 100, 200, 400 and 800. The Containers are the same that Kodak uses, Kodak got problems with delivery of Kodak Gold this year, so Lomo did and Kodak raises the price and so Lomo did💁‍♂️

    I never been interested by the lomo 800 but I like how it turned out in your video. I might try it in the futur. Also where do you go to develop and scan your films ?

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  3 года назад +1

      Thank you. I have found it to be a very versatile film and used it in many different situations. I develop my film at a tiny 1 hour lab and scan at home on an Epson v600 using Silverfast. I may actually make a video on how I scan and edit in the near future!

    • @robinsanphotography
      @robinsanphotography 3 года назад +1

      @@CLOCKCOUNTRY aaah nice! Does your lab developp also b&w in an hour ? Haha funny i was really going to buy the v600 on mercari until yesterday xD I saw a video about the plustek optic (dont remember the name). Im only shooting on 35mm and i dont have to many place for a scan as big as the v600 haha. But im interesting to see your video about your scan method 👌

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  3 года назад

      @@robinsanphotography Unfortunately they have to send out the b&w but only takes a few days. It's in Koenji, under the Chuo Line. I like the epson for 35mm because the film strip holders do a good job on keeping the film flat. I guess the downside is time. It takes such a long time. Medium format is pretty hard and it really depends if my negatives are really curled up or not. Either way I get by with it Those plustek look good tho!

    I dont knw photography. But why are you using camera that uses film ? why dont you use digital camera ? Is there something special about camera that uses film ?

    • @CLOCKCOUNTRY
      @CLOCKCOUNTRY  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for asking. I use both digital and film. I don't know if there is something special about a camera that uses film, but more often I like the results that I get from shooting film.
      That said, recently I have become more interested in shooting my digital camera and the images I can make from it.
      Maybe this would clarify how I feel about film and digital: With film it seems like I make so many decisions before the shutter is fired. From what film I choose to how I want to expose it, its done before hand. With digital I feel like a lot of an images distinguishing features come afterwards. This may be different for other photographers but for me this is how I think about it when I'm taking pictures.
