Maybe the frequency selected should have been 109.5. AV ILS. Ident IAV not AV which is AV VOR 116.1

Glad it helped James, I'll be uploading these 'full' versions of my vlogs over time so hope they'll continue to be of use. Thanks for watching and commenting, Stef.

Well done...work looks pretty high doing this IFR stuff! Really enjoyed the extended version. I reckon it would be helpful to have a bit of an overview at the start of your flight planned route and expected approaches.

Hey RJW, that's great feedback thanks. I can definitely look to add that some flight planning and approach overviews to the next Full Flight version. Appreciate that, cheers, Stef.

What!!...no Steve...no Glide Scope? I mean...how's a guy gonna cope I thought.....ADMIRABLY Stef...I loved it. I know nothing about what you are doing tbh sat there twiddling this and that and having so many folk chattering away...I'd be confused like crazy, I'd never make being a pilot.... But you made it look effortless...! Keep up the great work. Hoping winter does not set it too badly down your way so you get many many happy hours flying :)

Hey Roy, thanks mate. Yes it's weird with no Steve next to me, but his voice is always in my head! He would have told me "number one, fly the plane" which is why I decided to keep it straight and level at a safe altitude and then go from there. Every flight is a new learning experience! Hope you're well mate.

    Absolutely great video as always!
I was wondering what the flight time is from Moorabbin to Warrnambool?
    Cheers

In a straight line it was pretty much one hour, but I did have a good tailwind between 20-30Kts. Thanks for watching.

Did you have no glideslope because you were tuned to the VOR instead of the ILS?

      I think so,cause ils was109.5

Hi Stef, great video, thank you. Great to see how well you handled the GS failure. Purely from an academic perspective, did you also have the option at that point of converting the ILS approach to the localiser approach when you couldn't pick up the glide slope (AIP ENR 1.5 para 7.2b)? Thanks again.

Hello, yes absolutely - with the localiser identified and established I could have flown a LOC approach. That would have been a good choice for a landing, however as I was intending to go missed and was fairly high by the time I decided the GS was inactive for me, it would have been a big 'dive and drive' to get down! So I decided to stay at 3000 and head onwards from there. But yes, definitely an option to revise the minima and fly the LOC approach. Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.

Hahaha now I know why I always get bouncing when landing.
    Because I'm in Australia!

Hey Brad, I try and do as much as I can :) but I’m just renting this aircraft in the video. Are you a pilot, or learning to fly? Thanks for watching, Stef 👍
