Would be interesting to see more specific breakdowns of neutral - here's how to bait and counter a fox that drills a lot, raw upsmashes a lot, grabs a lot, etc
The best way to counter that stuff is to preemptively think about them doing it before they do. If I know a fox wants to usmash I'll run in and shield followed by a grab if they hit my shield or an aerial if they miss. Fox dair is probably one of his best moves on falcon but if you notice fox is spamming it, you can sdi pretty consistently if you're looking out for it or if they go for late drill to counter your sdi you can insta short hop uair to catch him while he's jumping.
Just wanted to give some feedback on this video. Thanks for making this, I found it pretty interesting. I think the actual video content in the first half is mostly distracting and not related at all to what you are talking about. I feel like your rate of speech is really high and you give a lot of info out really fast, which might be more suited to having like an open google document typing these things out as another idea of how to present them. That could also be nice for players to have as a resource in their own learning process. Those concepts pop up on the screen just briefly, but not for long enough imo. Basically I think the video in the beginning distracts more than adds. The 2nd half of the video though is great, because we actually get to see some concepts you mentioned in real time and see your thought process which is gold. Hearing top players think out loud and process actions on screen like that was very cool. You are suited to speaking quickly about a fast paced game like Melee, so more content like that could be really cool for other matchups as well. Introducing the first part as like a basis with maybe a different visual presentation might be nicer, and then head into the action where we now have the ability to reference these notes while watching you play. Hope this helps and look forward to more.
Always keep in mind that Falcon's greatest asset is that his raw movement is FAST (duh). Remember you outrun the entire cast, and you can basically kill the momentum of any character schmoving on you by simply running and/or jumping away to another part of the stage to give yourself some room to reset and force the opponent to approach again, or find an opening for your own approach of course.
Would be nice to do some replay reviews because all I learned from this is that the Fox you played rolled and spot dodged a lot and you looked too take advantage of it. It also looked like after they lost 2 stocks in the first game they were so flustered they couldn't press buttons. Even just a freeze before you make a decision and explain a few options you had and why you took the one you did would be cool.
it would be cool if you could give us a replay analysis slow-motion vs fox and tell us when you are going for a read or a reaction /what you're thinking for options in the moment
I'd love to watch you do a "guess the fox" by watching anonymized top player slippi vods, and then for each one you get correct, you show the falcon counterplay to their favorite neutral openings. For each one you get wrong you take a shot
Only the most raw Falcon wisdom from Shoutouts2Jesus, you love to see it.
LETS GOOOO THE BEST FALCON GUIDES ON RUclips !!!!!!

Great stuff, can't wait for more vids
Lmao, the cat was in your way on that last stock and you still rocked your first opponent! What a legend!
Huge fan of the analysis, i'll watch every part of this series if you'll keep uploading

Fire vid, would be awesome to see more of that live commentary as you play opponents for future vids

love that! keep it up bro!
LETS GOOOOOO
Loved the catcam😂
Falcon vs top tiers look so oppressive. But the beauty of Melee is you can kill them with a few interactions.
Live adaptation commentary is so good
Picked up melee and falcon due to you.
this BGM. YESH.
Would love to see another video like this on Falco/lasers or Marth.

👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

YOOOOOOOO Love you s2j
i enjoyed the video
let’s fucking goooooo
What's the sports psychology anime he mentions? Never got round to watching the Ping Pong one if that's what he's on about.
Ye ping pong the animation. Absolutely ace anime. Probably top 10 all time for almost everyone who's watched it
Pretty good perspective
Good stuff
Hell yeah content
hilarious
Who would win S2J or Shroomed
Can you make more matchup guides pls
More unranked netplay please
+1
I miss my wife
just commentating games is enough. picking players apart and looking for players with more depth to explore would be a good watch
this is dope, love ur shit johnny but you didn't have to do that netplay fox like that lmfao 💀
make more!!
Wouldn’t want a S2J edge guarding guide
I'm not used to hearing S2J talk this much
