Amazingly 40+ years old. Still irresistably fresh and even live is arranged remarkably close to the album version to the extent that as it finishes, I'm expecting it to run into New Europeans! Great stuff as ever.
A very self-confident start to an album from 1980 ... You have to come up with this idea first, to start an album with a 7-minute instrumental ... outstanding 🥰
First saw them do that track at Lincoln Drill Hall in 1980! It's still as amazing and the hairs stood on my neck again when Billy did his solo. Thanks for posting it.
As far as I'm aware Ultravox never toured Australia, Midge did tour either just before or just after Band-Aid. I didn't go, hoping that Ultravox would make it here. I finally saw Midge when he toured in 2019, his show was one of the last before we got locked down due to Covid.
Ultravox did tour Australia 🇦🇺 in February 1982. They played the Capitol Theatre in Sydney snd it was brilliant. Was a 15 year kid and Astraydne live blew my mind.
With the exception of theme for great cities this has to be one of the best instrumentals there ever been written

Great stuff as ever.
Better live than the album which is absolutely amazing. Saw them twice live and they were still the bes concerts I have seen to date.
A perfect instrumental, just perfect. Done so well Live
It's an outstanding live version, 30 yrs. after its release ... great performance 🥰
I was there for this! The best collection of musicians ever assembled, bar none.

Theme for Great Cities by Simple Minds and this gem are 2 of the best instrumentals ever made.
@@delby66 Yes, definitely! I totally agree 🥰🤗
Ultravox, I discovered you in my second youth and Astradyne is my favorite.
This is called a masterpiece, pure art
Wonderful masterclasses of musical brilliance...Truly Awesome
Years ago on RUclips, someone paired this with the journey to the moon scene from 2001. It was like it was written for that movie. Both masterpieces.
My favorite songs brilliant track!
All in ultravox is good.Vocals,synths,drums.
No vocals it’s an instrumental
Величайший музыкант!
Superb...if it wasnt for them and magazine then godknows where I wouldve ended up.

awesome tune!
2:51 - the late David Bowie in the audience appreciating Billy Currie's solo violin work - a typical Ultravox fan.
LOL!
Nice!
I enjoy looking how warren cann play drums.
Wir spielen die alten E-MAX mit Effekt-Boards von Roland.
Rest in peace Criss
The video plays twice but once without sound
Did we see David Bowie in the audience? @ 02.51 ?

If carling made instrumentals

Ah, so much better without the crap visuals on Ultravoxer's posting. Now I can see the band.
Crap--The sound died.
Es geht nicht darum.
