Extremely educational. Following the wheel of the feeding pyramid, and seasonal changes and circle of life. So vibrant and mysterious. Absolutely amazing variety of biodiversity in this northern most peninsula of Japan. The brown bear cub sliding down the hill - magical. Foxes on ice - unexpected. Beautiful narration and production. Weeks and months of filming I expect, in extreme conditions. Thank you for bringing the world into our homes. ❤

For example, in Subsaharan Africa, there are are many fishing owls, like the Pel's fishing owl
Another example can be the Brown fish owl that can be found from Malaysia to India
As for eagles hunting in tropical forests, the harpy eagly from South America is commonly found in forests from Brazil to central America...

While this video isn’t about people, it should be said that Japan’s treatment of the Ainu people has been little better than the treatment the first persons of North America received. Japan has, even up to the end of the 20th Century, worked to stamp out Ainu identity, language, and culture in its pursuit of the racist concepts of a Japanese monoculture.

by looking to the size-difference between the steller and white tailed eagle you really see how hugh those stellers are. I've seen white tailed eagles myself and those are already quite big birds. Their nick-name in my country is "flying doors" because of their big wings, so that says already something about the size of white tailed. They are already bigger then bald eagles I've seen too.

These days drones make it easier to measure the volume of a whale(but it's not exact). They have records of size/weight of harvested whales by scientists and whaling ships, giving them average densities(it's not exact). So it's an educated estimate.

You're wrong by literal definition. If they didn't capitalize it and it's their own name that they came up with, then it's not supposed to have a capital. Ipso facto, they did it correctly. If you're gonna get mad about that, then you have to get angry about every company name that isn't a proper word you'd find in the dictionary. That's every bit is incorrect for the language.

The climate change thing is the most overblown media sensation ever. For 40 years, I've listen to people make prediction after prediction of doom and gloom, and absolutely all of them have failed to come true. And the climate change crowd who go to those summits, etc. certainly don't act like there's a climate crisis in their own lives. When the rich people who, pound the table about it start acting like there's a crisis, then maybe I'll pay attention. Until then, I'll go buy some coastal real estate right next to Obama.

@@jasondashney Well you're not alone in those views Jason. Many share your scepticism.
However, have you looked at the well documented evidence of major glacier melt, Indian Ocean and Pacific islands now beneath the rising sea level? And there's that old Ozone Layer, depleting from CO2 and more Methane, that we heard about back in the 70s .... have you noticed the well recorded increase in wild fires, desertification and extreme climate conditions forcing populations to migrate or die? Do you remember last August SE England reaching a record 40' C -- near to home for many? More extremes n many parts, Tsunamis and the rest ,,,,,
And, just for now, the rapid increase amongst 'developed' societies, in sales of air conditioners - to withstand what millions EXPERIENCE as more extreme weather, heat and its dangers? Then the rising death rates of children in 'poor' communities, especially when eg African crops fail due to intense heat and water shortage, even deep aquifers showing signs of significant reduction? ~~~ to name a few for you, for now, off the top of my little head.
