Hi sir, I got the same horizontal band problem on my 65" C9 and after using it for 11 months in Taiwan. Got new panel replaced by LG technician within 2 working days(2 visits). But unfortunately the new panel start to appear vertical band on the left side of my screen after just 2 days of use which is something entirely different from previous problem. I was freaking out and can't believed just how LUCKY I am getting 2 bad panel in a row! Called the LG service and they were also shocked to know the new panel is also malfunctioned in such short time. I got another panel replaced with 2 days(1 visit) as well, and I really hope this one will survive for years to come. During the replacement one thing caught my eyes was the barcode label of all 3 panels showing they were all made from the same LG Vietnam factory which is not what they clamed from factory in Korea. I'm not having any issue with the fact the OLED panel wasn't from Korea but is it possible that all the malfunctioned paneled were made from the Vietnam factory? So I wonder if yours were made from Vietnam too?
I have the LG OLED77CXPUA and the smaller OLED65GXPUA. I purchased the 77 inch one on November 23, 2020, on November 30th I had the permanent vertical bar. A tech came out and ordered a new panel for it. Hopefully it will be here soon. I can still watch the tv and sometimes it isn't even noticeable. Like you I am going to be a little upset to watch the tech take it apart after I spent $3,500 on it. I have had no issues with the smaller one which is about 6 months old now. Previously I only brought Samsung tv's but the last two had issues where they would turn off or lock on occasin after a couple years. Plus these have fantastic pictures.
Lucky you... in the Czech Republic, LG has no service technicians, only "authorised service centers". So I had to haul the TV there, and now its my second (working) day of waiting just for a repair quote. And apparently it takes up to 10 working days to get a replacement panel from Poland (where they manufacture them). Oh and of course I have to go and pick the TV up. :D
LG and Samsung don't seem the most reliable brands anymore, I'd rather pay a couple of 100 bucks more now and get a Sony for example. With my 3 year old Samsung LCD TV the reflectors came lose causing white circles on my screen whenever it's a bright background... Seems they only make them to last until the warranty expires.
My LG O LED 55” C1 XTZ purchased in Oct 2021 initially shows horizontal lines on the picture and after that when tv was turned on it goes off itself .Then again when it was turned on it shows black screen with small three red lines on upper left on screen. The LG technician diagnosed the problem and said that there is problem in screen and they have to change it. The concerned technician from LG also said that they will also change T-con board and all other components . Please guide me if screen is faulty why they are changing all other components and they said the components will be deposited in company I questioned them why they are replacing all this , they said that new screen will not set with the old components as it is a OLED . I shall be highly thankful to you if you can help me
very helpful video thanks man...I have question: is anything happened to tv like the panel is hitting by something or anything like that or the panel is broke by itself
I had the same experience some days ago with my c9, but unfortunately they forgot to transfer those 4 pieces that support the tv on the wall, and now they are coming back next week to reopen the tv to put them on place. With this uncomfortable situation I’m doubting everything, and even been reflecting in the fact if the panels that they use to replace on on the c9s are not panels from de previous year c8 since they are so similar. Let’s be real how can I know there’s a difference, is there any way?
I totally agree with you and your concerns. I'm also worried that they've installed a C8 panel or some other panel, that's why I would've preferred a total TV replacement. I definitely feel the picture quality isn't as sharp and as crisp as before, but I can`t prove anything. I know the C8 panel is suppose to be darker. I've just lodged a complaint with LG and stated that the picture quality isn't the same as before.
After I spoke to one of Lg`s service center managers again he told me some of the holes on the back of the panel are in different places and the serial code has a different letter at the end to distinguish between different models. A C8 panel should have EL and C9 should have EM at the end of the serial number. He said they wouldn't`t risk their reputation to give me a C8 panel.
Sure! It would've only taken a day or 2, but because it was a holiday it took almost a week. They were fast, but what It comes down to is if they have an official LG repair /customer service center in your country. This was one of the reasons I chose LG over Sony. Sony contracts work out to other TV companies here in Taiwan..
