If you take the TV series and IDW comics into perspective then Celestia is probably the most psychologically scarred character. Despite her inability to "stage act" she is great at putting up an act that she's perfect ... but a common troupe is that chasing perfection is impossible and doing so causes you to lose something. If the cannon of all the medias of MLP are true then Celestia starts as a loving older sister but training with Starswirl causes her to grow egotistical, and even a bully-ish to her own sister who isn't quick to learn magic, despite having more potential than Celestia when driven. When Luna is kidnapped by unknown forces of a dimension door, summoned by Luna after Celestia makes fun of her, Celestia is emotionally distraught and extremely guilt-ridden; especially since the ordeal resulted in Luna unknowingly being corrupted by the Pony of Shadows/the Nightmare Force - Miasma which in turn corrupts Luna when Celestia's turn-of-leaf results in negligence of her sister's abandonment. (Around the same time Celestia was escaping her problems via a alternate dimension portal to live out a life of self-indulgence and romance with the alternate Sombra ... no such feelings for her own Sombra). Forced to rule alone she had to show being perfect in spite of her own happiness. She even occasionally reverts to an early form of Daybreaker when she nearly kills Chrysalis and the Changelings, permanently damaging their natural forms. Like how Nightmare Moon is Luna's 'Authoritarian' desire for control, Daybreaker is Celestia's 'Anarchy' of being free from everything ... her own 'discord' if you will (XD). 1000 years of peace drained her until she found a perfect replacement in Twilight, who could accomplish the things she couldn't despite her know-how in doing it do to the large amount of political work she was force to be preoccupied with. This, coupled with growing too reliant on Twi and the Mane 6, led to constant defeats to villains ... and the exposure of her imperfection of perfectness to Twilight. Even Celestia is aware of ponies who question her rule and security, especially when it comes to constant invasions/enslavement that she can't stop despite that 1000 year peace. Twilight realizes this and now has to develop a means of protecting Equestria but not ending up alone/overworked like Celestia who delights in harmless pranks to show she isn't a demanding tyrant but a fun-loving ruler. Celestia has been viewed by many fans as "Useless," (myself included) but when you factor in all that then it does make her more sympathetic. No longer bound by a need to appear perfect and regal, especially to Twilight and the gang (Applejack is very perceptive), she can now let loose and act like a filly from time to time. She can kick those horseshoes off and fling that crown onto the ground ... her retirement. Perhaps we should see those 1000 years of Celestia pushing herself for peace, befriending and losing ponies who aided in that peace, ponies she attempted to fill her heart with only to see them pass on or fall to darkness. Exposing that would show ponies that they shouldn't rely on one to do everything for them, no matter how noble it is. Friendship is about experiencing together, the good, bad, easy, hard, etc. Only through that can Celestia finally retire and make up for lost time with her little sister ... maybe even retrain so Twi and the Mane 6 don't spend the rest of their lives cleaning up her messes from the past.
In my honest opinion, Celestia and Luna definitely needed the vacation they look in this episode. because even though they've put their plans for retirement and or to make Twilight the new ruler of Equestria on hold, the royal sisters don't know anything about living the life of normal civilians so this vacation was a good opportunity for them to gain experience in civilian life...and they can now use said experience for when they retire at series end.

"Between Dark and Dawn" AKA "A Royal Problem: Part 2". Gail Simone delivers a unique, hilarious, emotional, immensely entertaining, and highly memorable episode.
I do like how this portrays two types of vacationers: those who want to actively do stuff they've never tried before like an adrenaline junkie, and those who just want to sit back and relax, like sitting on the beach and reading a book. I honestly didn't think of the connection of her job when Luna was so fascinated by the post office. I loved the funny scene where Celestia is afraid of a flipping chicken. A chicken of all things! We have hydras, cragodiles, fully grown dragons, bugbears, Manticores, Nyriks, and sea serpents. But no... Celestia is afraid of a small poultry bird. Although I have a strong feeling that it may stem from a Cockatrice encounter, I really hope this little thing comes up again.

Best episode of season 9 so far! Luna excited about the post office and Celestia scared of chickens... so cute! ❤️ I did hope to get an episode about their childhood, but I will happily settle for this.
She was turned into stone by a cokatrice once when she was a filly. -> It makes this phrase of Discord even more interesting in retrospective: _"It's quite lonely being encased in stone,_ *but you wouldn't know that, would you?"* [MLP:FiM_S2E01] The Return of Harmony - Part 1: _"Twists & Turns"_
My favorite part is where they see a pony version of Wicked. Luna is enjoying the hell out of it while Celestia is bored with it. Considering how Luna is a lot like Elphaba and Celestia is a lot like Glinda, that really says A LOT, to the point where I'm really surprised you didn't mention that.
In my overall opinion I thought this episode was overwhelming but adorable. Seeing Celestia and Luna act they way did for an entire episode was weird but fun! and something I could definitely relate to when I vacation with my sisters. When I went on a 3 day 2 night to the Riau Islands with my older sister I was definitely like Luna, I primarily wanted to relax and enjoy our accommodations but my sister wanted to try all the crazy beach activities like jetskis and parasailing and go shopping. Or when I went to London with both my older sisters for a week and it was mostly doing things THEY both planned out. My oldest sister had a schedule she wanted to stick while my second sister wanted to go shopping and see the late Amy Winehouse's home to pay her respects. I only got one thing and that was to visit the famous London Zoo but we went and left so early I didn't even had time to fully experience the place. Not that I didn't have fun with my sisters and trying new things but it was exhausting dealing with two bossy older sisters who argued a lot. But going on vacation with just my sisters is rare and I rarely travel so I take what I can get i guess.
I think this was adorable : ) Also I loved Celestia burrying herself in the plushie pile in what I assume was F.A.O.Schwarz and Luna smiling at seeing Cellie hugging the plushies.
That sums up this season actually, since we've been seeing a lot of wild facial expressions. I guess with it being the last season, the animation team decided to just go for broke and hold absolutely nothing back
OMG I just watched the episode again last night and realized that Capper had a quiet cameo in Celestia and Luna's musical number, decked out in the cape and top hat Rarity gave him at the end of the movie.
There was an opera later. I loved seeing pony wiked though but was sad Celie seamed so bored : < Maybe she was just really annoyed at Luna crying on her / using her to wipe her eyes though.
Dude near the ending when the two sisters make up I actually popped a tear because it makes me miss spending time with my sister a bit..life is random sometimes.
What brings Celestia and Luna closer is them understanding each other about what they went though It wasn't easy for Celestia to be the big sister because when Luna became jealous of her. She turned into Nightmare Moon and cause she tried to caused eternal night for Equestia .Celestia had to banish her sibling to the moon. And it's not easy for luna being the younger sister because she always lived in the shadow of her older sister and never got recognized for her work or appreciated for it.
While I do think there were some missed opportunities with this episode, still think it's definitely worth watching Celestia and Luna so lively and adorable. Plus their song was pretty good too!
It's true we've seen the sister lesson many times here and in other media. But it's one of those that keeps coming back because it's relatable and even needed. And the delegation idea does seem like a different lesson than relying on friends to save the world.
I think the point of the Mane 6 having trouble with the Swantering (is that it?) was to show why Celestia and Luna hardly showed up for all those crises. A smart leader delegates management of the task to one best suited for the job.
at the beginning i feared it was gonna be an episode about the main 6 trying to do something about celestia and luna helping with pointless stuff but thankfully it went to a completly different direction and the end product was a really good and enjoyable episode.
I thought that it was strange that the main six struggled so much with the swan party. I mean Pinky Pie, Rarity and even AJ have all put together big events in the show before. Also....we got to see Luna naked!
It's because the swan one had a lot of pressure to publically meet expectations. Meanwhile things were going wrong that weren't on the list. Like the rubbish pile.
I actually have the theory that there was more to this than meets the eye. The way Celestia brought up they needed somebody to take over while they were on vacation and the swan thing seemed so pointless it makes me think that they purposely went overboard in the beginning to set everything up. I believe that they panned the entire thing to teach twilight and her friends how to handle being in charge. And if they happened to get a vacation while teaching the lesson, well that just happens to be a bonus. lol
Do you think it's possible they also made up the whole Royal Swanifying thing as part of their lesson, and got Fancy Pants and his group to play along? I mean, I know Equestria has had multiple celebrations over very specific things in the past, but throwing a celebration for the kingdom's swans? Even by this show's standards, that seems weirdly arbitrary.
I kind of think their Celestia and Luna's argument was quite well done. Having it was cliche, but the words used revealed a lot about their relationship and even the aspects of it that led to their rift a thousand years ago. There was a lot packed into a few lines there, and I especially was impressed with the implications that as much as Luna resented Celestia, deep down Celestia resented Luna over the fallout of sealing her away, namely "you think I like that kind of pressure? Being responsible for every little thing in Equestria and for you? What I want is to have a sister I can depend on!" and that she likely misinterpreted Luna's downward spiral as just being dark and gloomy, i.e. "you are never happy."
@@sethcarlow8363 Sorry, I didn't mean to direct it at you. I just want to point out that midlife crisis is a totally different thing from what Celestia and Luna show here. It's a feeling of lack of accomplishments and self-worth, not someone at middle age suddenly acting childish.
I really don't understand why you think it's weird, really. We've had hints of these personality notes from the princesses since the first Galloping Galla. Why would it be weird? Perhaps it is in a naive way, just like some people look at famous folks with some notion they're not people like everyone else... the only time they seem "on high" is when the forced perspective is on someone who doesn't know them other than the fact they are a ruler. Twilight may have started with that relationship, but it's far from it now. To me, this wasn't just about them stretching their wings, but also giving Twlight some room to test her own wings with what's coming in the future.
This episode is amazing 13/26 so far Season 9 is WAY BETTER THAN SEASON 8. I will see you next week for the MLP Special episode Doc. Season 9 DON'T LET ME DOWN SECOND HALF August 3rd.
I don't know what to say, i just love this episode and i can't wait to see what kind of fanfics come from this. Just because i think it's funny, i like to think that the falling star in this episode was one of the (bumblebee movie) Autobots crash landing somewhere. I know that does not have anything to do with this episode but i thought it was funny. Oh and also i LOVE the song in this episode.
It was nice to see Celestia and Luna enjoy some well-deserved vacation time before their retirement. Also, not sure if you noticed Dr. Wolf, but Capper had a cameo in the episode himself, during the first part of Celestia and Luna's duet.
I have an older sister and we both have high pressure jobs, we also have very little in common but we love each other very much, so this episode hit me in a number of ways because on a number of family of outings we have had that fight just not with flowing magical hair.
DID YOU NOTICED, DURING THE SONG, AT THE BACKGROUND, WHILE ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS APPEARED, CAPPER WAS THERE AND CELESTIA NOTICED!!! Characters from the movie are gonna appear on the series finale!!! I can't believe it!!! SOOO HYPED!!!!
I loved all the reactions from background ponies either in fear of the princesses or awestruck by their celebrity. But this episode felt like a version of A Goofy Movie, and many of the scenes may have very well been lifted and changed to fit the pony world.
By this point, there is only half season left. And for what I’ve read about the synopsis of the next episodes up until episode 18, only a few sound interesting. But, before the show ends, it REALLY needs to have two episodes: A Celestia and Luna backstory, and a Cadence backstory (maybe it can also sprinkle some backstory with how she and Shining Armor met and fell in love).
I had a lot of fun with this episode. I agree that it would have been nice to have Celestia and Luna show their "fun" side sooner, but better later than never, I suppose! One thing's for sure, though... So far the writers and animators have been firing on all cylinders! All is pointing out towards the season ending with a magnificent golden key, as the saying goes. I am not in a hurry to see that, though. This has been an amazing ride, this far. I know this train is heading towards its final destination, the end of its line, but I want to enjoy every bit of this last trip as much as I can.
I LOVED EVERY MOMENT AND IT REMINDED ME OF A TIME I WOULD DO ROAD TRIPS WITH MY SIX SISTERS DOING CRAZY NEW THINGS THAT LEAD TO LAUGHS! (I loved the song!!) And just knowing they love different things and wanting to have fun instead if of a routine was fun!! ~♡ #BestEpisodeEver
Methinks this, just like with A Royal Problem, brings up that barrier and tension between the sisters that had gone unresolved since the beginning of the series until now. I was even wondering if they might escalate things to the point of becoming Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon again, like one Starlight had feared.
I can't help imagining Celestia using that zipline mug in the middle of arbitrating a negotiation between two nobles. Imagine the look on Blueblood's face if he saw it!
I found it interesting to analyze what Luna said when the sisters fought. “You don’t want me to be happy” I wander if this fight is similar to the one(s) they had before or while luna was nightmare moon.
The biggest thing I focused on was the Bonbon with a different style hair having a picnic with 2 fillies. All I could think of was Lyra showing up asking what Bonbon is doing and who's kids are those, and Bonbon just having a look of shock on her face.
Ok, I was reminded of "Road To Friendship" here. Also, CAPPER SHOWED UP IN THE BACKGROUND AND I JUST REALIZED THAT BY WATCHING THIS! The song felt familiar, although I'm not sure if it was the One Small Thing title that it shared from the movie or what.
2 things : First, Wonderbolt riding... Is that their regular activities or did Celestia pull a couple strings ? Second, The Equestrian Postal Service... YOU. DON'T. MESS. WITH IT ! Based on what Luna said, these guys locate the recipient of the mail (through magic pro'bly) and then get to them... Even in the chaos dimension !!! There is no recourse ! No escape ! You WILL get your mail !!!
I was annoyed by their “savings” I basically thought that they were cringeworthy moments because they were forcing their way into non urgent situations that don’t REQUIRE their help. But, with your perspective makes it all clear that they might be going through a midlife crisis and I might be going through that because my mom went through it by shoving herself into what I was reading at the time, a 17 magazine where teen girls can get advice on certain topics that they might be going through, it never registered in my mind that my mom was going through a midlife crisis and was trying to relive her younger years before she goes through menopause and actually loses her youth. I might go back to this episode and see things from a different point of view.
I think it was pretty cool that we got us sister episode with the two Royal sisters and see how they act like sisters to each other I think the episode was pretty good
5:45: Remember this line from the season 9 premier: Rainbow Dash: "I call dibs on showing up in everypony's dreams!" Also, I still don't understand how Luna could have gotten sunburned when she's covered with fur.
Chris Teet Same way real life horses/ponies can get sunburnt, always have shade for your equine friends this summer and have some horse sunscreen for them Incase you plan to be in the sun in a longer period of time.
I never saw the synopsis so when I saw the episode name was Between Dawn and Dusk I thought it was referring to Twilight. Still loved the episode. Given how much Celestia likes ziplines and how high the throne is relative to the floor, maybe she'd install one in the throne room.
If I'm to be honest, this should have been the first Celestia/Luna centric episode back in Season 1. It just feels like this episode was made for the 2010-2011 Days of MLP.
well it proved that zip lining is a thing because it did not work out when the CMC tried to do it in the early seasons and it is interesting that celestia has a nack for thrills/action stuff
I loved it but it probably would have been better if we'd gotten this one right after Twilight got her wings. The only change I would have made for it is Luna puts Cadence in charge of the night and Twilight takes Celestia's duties so as not to overwhelm either and the Sisters could have a few days off.
While not without charms, this episode is retread like a discount Mexican tire. Even the song has a too familiar sound to it. Nothing wrong with it, it just... happened. Kind of like a season seven "well... now what do we do?" thing.
Not bad for an episode showing off the royal sisters. Their song is pretty catchy. A part of me really wishes that they should’ve done the exact same thing they did when applejack and rarity were in MainxHatton while Big Mac and Apple Bloom doing the sister social (having an episode of their own) I see an entire episode with the main 6 having an episode of their own just to set up the Swan celebration, then again you may have a good point that that it could be predictable. The sisters vacation time does remind me about how I go on vacation with my parents. Only because they would like to go to some of the other Side attractions between start and finish up our road trip. I have to admit some of these attractions were interesting. While some of them are in my opinion are a little boring, I can relate to celestia because I want a little excitement in our Adventure. In fact I’m hoping around October that I would be able to save enough money to invite my parents to the new Disney attraction galaxies edge. We’re only going to the one in Orlando Florida because we are Georgia and the first ration is in the opposite side of our country and stuff(just trying to think smart about our trip). I kind of figured that having a vacation alone it’s not really fun when you don’t have anyone to share it because there was one time I did have a vacation for myself and what their way to have this vacations and had all the solitude you need on an island. It was boring at first but very peaceful. Funny thing is that giant turtle creature reminds me of a Yu-Gi-Oh duel monsters card I saw one time, I Think the name is turtle Island, either way I’m glad they chose a smaller design for the turtle they’re using for this episode. Or they chose that design of one of those Pokémon‘s that looks like a turtle with A couple of trees on its back on its back.
This episode should be placed at the same beginning of this season, which should make the story of "Beginning of the End" a little less rushed (although I think now all this "rush" was intentional, at least form Celestia and Luna part).
Between Dark and Dawn is the best Season 9 episode so far. It also has the best Season 9 songs. That being said, I wouldn't say the sisters are having a mid-life crisis. They are immortal. They are more just getting tired of the Princess job and want a vacation. Also, they could retire too. People get tired of doing the same thing.
The only thing about a midlife crisis is that it at least suggests that there is a limit to the lifespan. Otherwise it might be a "change of life" crisis, but to give it a time designation like "midlife" does suggest that the end is in sight, no matter how far off it might be. Now it's never been actually established that the sisters will live forever, but I don't think it's been established that they will die, either. But yes, this has been a great episode for showing us more about the sisters when they aren't being officially royal, and for that alone it should be applauded. Tabitha and Nicole must have enjoyed being given a whole episode to play off of each other.
For me, this episode does top 'Frenemies' for the fact that we finally see Celestia and Luna out of their usual elements. The song was the best in the series thus far, too. As for Luna and Celestia on their own, I see that Luna's more into the art of acting and Celestia's become the Nathan Drake of MLP. Sorry, Daring Do
Yes some of them were pretty protectable and I feel like I seen that lesson before you could say it's a Deja vu I've just been in this place before Higher on the street And I know it's my time to go Calling you and the search is mystery Standing on my feet It's so hard when I try to be me uoooh! Sorry old joke 😅 But with all seriousness I actually did enjoyed this episode so much
This episode is a prime example of predictability not being a bad thing: we all knew Celestia and Luna would get back together and that Twilight and the others would get in over their heads... But it remains entertaining and impactful. Execution can indeed make up for repetition.
I find it interesting that Celestia - whose days are filled with peace and order - wants to experience a little chaos. Whilst Luna - with nightly dream patrols filled with chaos - wants a little peace and order.

I had to watch this episode early, & I saw it too. But I now wonder, if the liar is on maps, do others think it's abandoned?
@@Itachi17509 Now how did I forget to mention him?
Best episode of season 9 so far! Luna excited about the post office and Celestia scared of chickens... so cute! ❤️
I did hope to get an episode about their childhood, but I will happily settle for this.
Frenemies was great too!
raiokai that was hilarious

This was just a Buffet of meme faces, and I loved it
That sums up this season actually, since we've been seeing a lot of wild facial expressions. I guess with it being the last season, the animation team decided to just go for broke and hold absolutely nothing back
@@monsterjambrony when I was watching the episode, I actually thought they changed the animation because of the meme faces
@@monsterjambrony I wasn't trying to
I was surprised there was no mention of the sisters going to see Equestria's version of Wicked... or did that count as opera?
OMG I just watched the episode again last night and realized that Capper had a quiet cameo in Celestia and Luna's musical number, decked out in the cape and top hat Rarity gave him at the end of the movie.
I'm guessing that counts as opera.
There was an opera later. I loved seeing pony wiked though but was sad Celie seamed so bored : < Maybe she was just really annoyed at Luna crying on her / using her to wipe her eyes though.
@@davidheald7957 Wait what???? where!
@@eldergeek6077 Nah, there was another Opera they went to. There was a photo Luna got from it.

Did anyone notice that Luna’s hair went a little Nightmare-Moon-esqe when she and Celestia were arguing? I thought it was an interesting detail.
It's only because she removed her hairband at that moment. I don't read too much into it...
Luna's hair looks so cute in a bun!
I've always had a soft spot for episodes that take these two out of their usual "wise and regal" comfort zone :)
at the beginning i feared it was gonna be an episode about the main 6 trying to do something about celestia and luna helping with pointless stuff but thankfully it went to a completly different direction and the end product was a really good and enjoyable episode.
This episode was about the process! (And it was fun:D)
I'm just sad that Celestia's aide was nowhere to be seen in Canterlot Palace.
Between Dark and Dawn is most likely my favorite episode of S9 so far.
I would have called it a Swan Soiree. lol
Yeah for the longest time I thought her shoes were just her hooves
Lewd
@@Tokuman100That's what I'm thinking, thought I mentioned it too
@Gungelion - Oops, guess I overlooked that part.
I like the new attitude of Fancy Pants
He's basically Jay Gatsby sans Daisy Obsession
"you are never happy."
it was a good ep.
yeah it's a mid life crisis.
Every Pony's and Brony's have them.
it's good thing that we have DrWolf to help.
If you call this midlife crisis, it's an insult to people with midlife crisis.
@@Secret_Moon sorry.
I would never insult any one it makes me feel insulted
@@sethcarlow8363 Sorry, I didn't mean to direct it at you. I just want to point out that midlife crisis is a totally different thing from what Celestia and Luna show here. It's a feeling of lack of accomplishments and self-worth, not someone at middle age suddenly acting childish.
@@Secret_Moon it's okay.
have a nice week and weekend.
In my opinion, this episode has both Celestia and Luna at their silliest.
Yeah, the animators did some great facial expressions with the Royal Sisters! ^^
Also... "ZIIIIIP LIIIIIIIIIINE!" 😂
All the moments of celestia and luna I’ve seen in that episode were ponyriffic! The final season has honestly reached A+++++++++ in my book🌟💖
This episode is amazing 13/26 so far Season 9 is WAY BETTER THAN SEASON 8. I will see you next week for the MLP Special episode Doc. Season 9 DON'T LET ME DOWN SECOND HALF August 3rd.
And I bet there’s already memes about celestia being afraid of... CHICKENS!!!
the memes will include the Legend of Zelda cuccos :P
And Scootaloo
Someone has played the legend of zelda (probably along with Luna in one of her gaming sessions).
The site of the swans at the window made me laugh so hard simply because it reminded me of an episode of the red green show "damn you emu"
I loved seeing all the different faces the Princesses made and all the activities they did. So many good laughs. I loved it.
This episode was sponsored by Two Best Sisters Play
I even saw Capper the cat from the movie during the song
MLP is ALL about facial expressions xD
I saw this episode as a leaked episode before seeing The Last Crusade.
This is my favorite Royal Sisters episode by far. Either this or "Sparkle's Seven" is my favorite episode of this season so far.
That giant turtle is actually a Pokemon known as a Torterra.
Thought it was Spike from land before time.
Mid life crisis? That's what I thought when I saw Celestia and Luna in this episode. Great minds think alike DRWolf001.
I found the fact that Celestia is afraid of chickens to be funny.
#BestEpisodeEver
Methinks this, just like with A Royal Problem, brings up that barrier and tension between the sisters that had gone unresolved since the beginning of the series until now. I was even wondering if they might escalate things to the point of becoming Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon again, like one Starlight had feared.
I can't help imagining Celestia using that zipline mug in the middle of arbitrating a negotiation between two nobles. Imagine the look on Blueblood's face if he saw it!
If the princesses only delegate the swan party what was the point off giving Twilight the list?
I found it interesting to analyze what Luna said when the sisters fought. “You don’t want me to be happy”
I wander if this fight is similar to the one(s) they had before or while luna was nightmare moon.
The biggest thing I focused on was the Bonbon with a different style hair having a picnic with 2 fillies. All I could think of was Lyra showing up asking what Bonbon is doing and who's kids are those, and Bonbon just having a look of shock on her face.
"Lyra! How could you forget our own children!?"
This was a fun one
3:55 "You spent the afternoon making a zipline!"
Their's capper on background leaning on tree behind you

And in this episode, Celestia is afraid of chickens.
Meanwhile I'm just low-key obsessed by Celestia's gothic look and wish I'd seen more of it lmao
It's Good They Brought Capper Back Next Might Be Queen Novo Princess Skystar Tempest Shadow Grubber And Songbird
I think it was pretty cool that we got us sister episode with the two Royal sisters and see how they act like sisters to each other I think the episode was pretty good
I loved the nod to Wicked ^^
5:45: Remember this line from the season 9 premier:
Rainbow Dash: "I call dibs on showing up in everypony's dreams!"
Also, I still don't understand how Luna could have gotten sunburned when she's covered with fur.
Chris Teet
Same way real life horses/ponies can get sunburnt, always have shade for your equine friends this summer and have some horse sunscreen for them Incase you plan to be in the sun in a longer period of time.
Luna's never been exposed to it much.
It's less of the appreciation of the lesson and more of enjoying the episode itself :D
I never saw the synopsis so when I saw the episode name was Between Dawn and Dusk I thought it was referring to Twilight. Still loved the episode. Given how much Celestia likes ziplines and how high the throne is relative to the floor, maybe she'd install one in the throne room.
For more world building, in this episode, we learned that apparently that ponies covered with fur can get sun burn. Even ponies covered with dark fur.
I'll never forget Celestia's goth look :'3
While not without charms, this episode is retread like a discount Mexican tire. Even the song has a too familiar sound to it. Nothing wrong with it, it just... happened. Kind of like a season seven "well... now what do we do?" thing.
And thus; the mid season hiatus begins.
Amazing episodes like this is why I fell in love with this series, sweet Celestia was this a good episode!
This episode should be placed at the same beginning of this season, which should make the story of "Beginning of the End" a little less rushed (although I think now all this "rush" was intentional, at least form Celestia and Luna part).
that mlp episodes was just awesome
Between Dark and Dawn is the best Season 9 episode so far. It also has the best Season 9 songs.
That being said, I wouldn't say the sisters are having a mid-life crisis. They are immortal. They are more just getting tired of the Princess job and want a vacation. Also, they could retire too. People get tired of doing the same thing.
I loved seeing them with their manes up.
Twilight... Sugar...
Did you forget winter wrap up?
Celestia’s fear of chickens.
Sorry, Daring Do
I like that the play they went to see was a pony version of wicked
Yes some of them were pretty protectable and I feel like I seen that lesson before you could say it's a
Deja vu
I've just been in this place before
Higher on the street
And I know it's my time to go

Standing on my feet
It's so hard when I try to be me uoooh!
Sorry old joke 😅 But with all seriousness I actually did enjoyed this episode so much
Throughout the whole episode I was basically fangirling over the fact that we got another Celestia episode
This episode is a prime example of predictability not being a bad thing: we all knew Celestia and Luna would get back together and that Twilight and the others would get in over their heads... But it remains entertaining and impactful. Execution can indeed make up for repetition.
Am i the only one who saw capper? During the song part? Leaning on a tree?
I saw him, too.
