Please note that Connected by August has been rebranded Yale Access, but the WiFi units and functionality are identical and both work with the apps Yale Access and August Home apps, which are also identical once installed. The WiFi/Bluetooth kit can be purchased as part of a bundle or as an upgrade to an existing Yale Assure Lock (Gen 1) and includes a Door Sense Sensor and plug-in WiFi bridge that must be installed near the smart lock to access WiFi features. I've also replaced our keyed doorknob with the Yale Navis push/pull levers, although its installation is not shown in this video. Teh Assur Lock is avilable in both keyed and keyless version and the latest model, the Assure Lock 2 utilizes an external 9V battery terminal to prevent accidental lockout.
Thanks for this video. I was able to see what I was doing wrong in 2 minutes. Again, thanks.

Glad it helped!
Hi thanks for the video very informative.
@5:27 I feel like I’m missing something. I can’t seem to get it connected/registered.
I’ve entered 7 and gear key multiple times but still can’t seem to get connected.
Any advice
Did you get it sorted? The batteries need to be removed during installation of the WiFi module. Try removing the batteries, removing the module, then reinserting the module before putting the batteries back in. Once you've done that, go to the app and enter setup mode by entering your master passcode followed by the gear icon and select 7, followed by the gear icon, to activate the module. If your module still isn't registering, there may be a problem with it and I would contact Yale for further support or a replacement.
I’m having the same issue. Did you get it sorted ?
Phil, I have the same setup as you do. Somehow I cannot connect the wifi module to the lock. I would like to restart the whole software setup process.. Do you know how I can wipe the settings clean and restart from square 1?
There is a reset button on the inside of the handle. You have to take the screws out to access it.
Take all the batteries out, hold the reset button down until you put all the batteries back in then release it.
thanks for the video , very helpful. Today my lock unable to open the door after I input the code. do you know how to fix it?? thx
Use the key...That's what it's for
What is the advantage of the sensor? The people I bought my door and lock from don't seem to know much about the sensor. Thanks
The sensor allows the lock to detect whether the door is open or closed. Without it, it only knows if the deadbolt is locked or unlocked, but not the position of the door itself. It uses this information to determine when to self-lock (e.g. it won't do so if the door is still open) and it will also show you the door position status in the app, open or closed.
i don't have the sensor not the Wi-Fi Bridge where do I get it from ?
My bolt gets stuck .. can I just change the latch ?
Generally, deadbolts that jam or get stuck indicate that the hole for the strike plate and the bolt are misaligned. The only way to really correct that is to re-drill one or both hole. Sometimes you can get away with simply moving the strike plate over, though you may need to expand the latch hole to do so.
help please...I am taking over an airbnb and trying to set up with my phone app I scan the QR code on inside by batteries but not sure what else, I am following the directions but honestly I don't think anything is doing anything and really hard to wake up screen
what August Control Module model is that which is compatible with Yale Lock Assure YRD226 (the one in the video).
The model# on the back of my August module is MD-01.
one question ? how can you find the serial number ? cause i have one just like yours but its a black one and im trying to set it up on my phone. reply me thanks
You actually don't really need the serial number to set it up. If you can’t find or access your device’s QR code or serial number, you can select the device from the product selector by tapping Use Product Selector during setup.
why when i do the menu mode it doesn't have a number 7 for me to select?
Thanks
You're welcome!
do you have a link where i can find the module ? Can't find it anywhere
Here's the link where you can get the module at Amazon: geni.us/hkq603b [Amazon Affiliate Product Link] It comes with the AC Bridge (as it is required for WiFi connections).
Phil if i need more keys???
You should be able to take your master key to any big box hardware store, like Home Depot or Lowes and they can duplicate the key from the original. If you've lost your original master key, you may need to order a new tumbler from Yale directly or have the lock re-keyed.
Thank you very much!!!
I am trying to connect devise to wifi, and whenever i put serial number it says invalid. Any help ? Where can i find the correct serial number !
The serial number (and QR code) for the WiFi model is on the bottom of it (see 3:31). Make sure that you remove the batteries from the lock before removing and installing the module.
