1 The Mersey Experience Opening

This Video entitled 'The Mersey Experience' starts with a map of Liverpool in 1572 entitled 'Sea Lake'. We progress through a period up to 1906 when the famous Port of Liverpool building was completed . The maps you see show the expansion of Liverpool and its dock activity.
From here, I show my own photographs that were taken in a lifetime on Merseyside. Hopefully, this introduction will give you an idea of a port with a very humble that grew into a mighty port reaching all over the world. The south docks closed but today are a place tourists visit from all over the world.

My first visits to Liverpool were in the '80's, but I don't remember the waterfront very well. I was just glad to take the ferry! Thanks for the photos.
