  • A playthrough of The Amazing Maze Game for the arcade.
In each round of Amazing Maze, a maze is randomly generated for two players to navigate. Before each round starts properly, you are given a few seconds to study the maze. The goal is to get to the other player's starting position. Here I play against the computer who starts on the left, me on the right.
The game allows you to play three mazes regardless of your performance. After that you must keep winning to keep playing. The computer starts off rather slow, then gets faster each round. I'm not sure when its speed caps out, but it gets fast enough that nearly any deviation from the correct path means a game over.
I made an absolutely fatal error after my tenth maze. I mistook the correct route for being closed off and spent time stupidly fumbling around in the top half of the screen while the computer was navigating the bottom. The computer's route is generally a hint as what direction you should head. Oh well.
