Cutter vs. Corvette "PvP"

- Here in Leesti, the home of Engineer Didi Vatermann, I decided to test this "Dangerous" Corvette CMDR's mettle against my Cutter; The Flying Dutchman, and the admittedly ridiculously OP weapon, "Reverberating Cascade Torpedoes". Other wise known as the latest Elite:Dangerous "Iwin" button. He failed the test.

No salt. I just find it sad. I fail to see the appeal or what you're proving here. You have the biggest ship available, with the very best engineering on it. And you're pitting that against a ship (most likely) fitted for mission or engineer running - i.e. not a PvP fitted ship. What exactly are you proving? I just don't get it.
Michael Willer It's ok. I don't expect guys like you to "get it". However he does have Prismatic Shields and multiple boosters and presumably just finished multiple Grade 5 rolls on those boosters considering where we are. I was proving a couple of things. 1. Reverb Torpedoes are stupid and OP and the defenses against them are either inadequate or have been nerfed to inadequacy and 2. PvE CMDRs in their 17 Draconis hot rods are not prepared (skill/knowledge/builds) for what's out there, and that's on them. I would have actually been delighted if he'd put up a real fight or even sent me to the rebuy screen. Instead he flailed about in an all turreted Vette (shame) with a docking computer (double shame). I agree. Very sad. For him. Maybe he should be flying a T9....

Yeah I agree, I don't get why this is supposed to be interesting. There is nothing impressive or even a close duel going on here, just jumping someone that didn't even want to fight.
I thought PvP was supposed to be about skill and challenge (instead of fighting NPCs). Why make a video on this?

What is your in-game reason to attack the Corvette? Other than satisfying your insecurities in real-life? (Maybe I'm salty, yes, but I'm curious about the "real" reason)

Either he is the worst Vette pilot in ED, or the fight was fixed from the beginning. I wouldn't give you credits for that victory anyways.
Wasn't fixed. That's absurd. Happened just as you saw it and a victory is a victory.
If it was not fixed, then that guy was a sitting duck, what a shame of a fight, I wouldn't be showing of about it. Like said, not giving you credits for that behavior. Nothing to be proud of.

I think you got me wrong, It is not that I care about the sitting duck, in particular I think he should have jumped away if he was so lacking of PVP XP, but in the minute he decided to stay and fight it was entirely up to him. My point is that if u consider yourself a decent pilot, like I think you do, then you shouldn't be proud of this victory ;). But any ways, that`s just me. BTW u r welcome to try my carebear`s hug XD. keep salty ;).

Honestly I see no problem with this. He returned fire, never asked for mercy. Anyway, don't fly without rebuy right? he shouldn't be flying his hot rod without one, and should expect to end up pvping at some point. GG Auburn. o7

ueddarktom All seriousness though, good fight yesterday. After I destroyed your shield generator and you High Waked and I pursued I thought I really had you the second time. I guess you did reboot/repair and used an AFMU to get it back up to 24%? Once my shields dropped though those thermal packhounds took out my canopy and my power plant malfunctioned, I thought was going to lose my Cutter for the first time. I only have D life support. Rethinking that now. I crossed through the mail slot with 28 seconds remaining! I have it all on video but sadly no audio on the second engagement for some reason. I'll probably still post the video though. I'll admit, that is a tanky Conda build! What was you're hull at after it was all over? Oh and I wasn't trying to pirate you at the end, just make you walk the plank!
I think I was at around 35%. Never had this low of hull before since it is a fully combat-engineered Conda. After FD buffed the AFMU in 2.2.03 and added MRP, I thought it might be worth a try. I did not reboot. Those AFMU did wonders since they allow me to repair in battle - essentially in the second round my shield integrity was going up the whole time from 0%. Because you jumped into the system so quickly I assumed you had not re-armed those torps yet. DPS-wise, I had the advantage. You got feedback railed a few times which helped me a lot. I could tell you were running a shield-tank build but I wasn't sure how many rounds of SCB you have left. Good fight o7
And yes, sometimes pirates will run into captains who know what they are doing ;)

Never mind. That's phasing sequence. Didn't realize it could hurt modules through shields. Probably going to start running mine again over my heat vent beams. That is nasty.

That was really boring :/ I'm not very good at PVP but I'd have at least tried fighting back, worst case scenario I'd have gone out swinging. He should have had a decent chance with that ship even if he isn't particularly good. I also don't get why you carried on engaging, I'd have gotten bored when he showed to be such a pointless opponent and wandered off to find some one more interesting.
(P.S. This is not a salt comment, you play in open you takes ya chances)
Oh well that is what solo and private group is for open is pvp. If you want to pve stay in solo.
