- A update from the Honda Civic Tourer camp now we have crossed 100k miles. Latest mileage (as of today) is now 102,500 miles, and we are piling the miles on quickly at the minute. All good other than a couple of minor issues with components I am not to bothered about. Booking the car in for a bit of preventative maintenance while I am away in December. Also a quick look at the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons all season tyres I run on the Civic, which have proved very durable. Over 30k miles on the set now.
Came for the car, stayed for the beautiful landscapes. Thanks!
Thanks! Had some lovely drives in it around that time 😉
I had a non-tourer i-DTEC SR, same Civic generation, and it was an excellent underrated vehicle. It was comfy, practical, the Magic rear seats were super useful and it easily pulled 55mpg+ without even trying. I traded it in for an FK2 Type R which could only get 32mpg if driven painfully slowly - which i only ever did once.
I have a 65 civic tourer that I bought at 1 year old, was ex Honda fleet car. I really like it, the zero road tax, massive boot space and great MPG means I will probably hold onto it for while unless anything major comes up.
Yeah, brilliant cars really.
I have the hatchback and has 120 thousand miles on it now not a bit of bother still getting 75 miles to the gallon but I do a lot of motorway miles 👍
I like the car very much and have owned for 15 months, does everything I want, but it just isn't a Volvo. I owned an S60 D5 for 5 years. The quality and solidity isn't there
I also had Volvos for years - mostly 940 TD estates, four years in a V50 diesel company car and a short lived XC90 experience. Matches the 900s across the board in my opinion, especially the excellent driving position. Quality is much higher than the V50. But it can be hard to switch from one brand to another.
I have this car. If only it was still £1.40 a litre. Try £1.94 now, which is on the way down from £199.9
The oil filter should be blue, OEM all the way 😂. Enjoyed the video.
For mpg consider the type of tires. The all season/winter tyres have a higher rolling resistance and also the colder weather will both result in lower figures. I had 'all seasons' on during summer and they got shredded pretty quick so i'd swap to 'summer' tyres most of the time and maybe swap to all season/winter during winter.
I find no real difference in economy from all season to summer tires. I gave up using pure winters a few years back. Just changed my Goodyears to Michelins after c.50k miles, half on the rear. They lasted great. MPG unchanged 👍🏻
Hi. If You are doing 75, then it is 70 on sat nav. Some difference on mpg You can get from 1) exchange air filter every 5000 2) overinflate tyres (gently) 0,2bar (if You do it more, it will use middle of the tyre, if its underinflated it will use sides) I do keep My on 2,6bar all around.
Hello, i have Been thinking of buying a Honda civic, have you had any issues with yours or is there anything special you should look for when buying a used one?
Hi there, my car has been 100% reliable so nothing I can say about what to look for. I guess check the usual stuff - tyres and brakes, service history etc - and plug a code reader into it and check for anything untoward. Good luck 😉
I have same car in denmark, done 250k no probs apart from pgmfi light, what diagnostic tool did you use
A good friend has a garage (most of my friends are car guys) so I just used his Snap-On module 👍🏻
2.2 DTEC, wanted the bigger engine because I drive mountains, Autobahn and occasionally sporty.
45-48mpg average with long journeys 75-100 mph as cruising speed. No petrol car can perform that mpg and those speeds.
Above 100mph, ahum maybe 30mpg 🤪
We also have a 2.2 but they didn’t make them with the estate body. Shame 🙁
@@johndglynn which engine is better? Thinking of upgrading from my peugeot 107 (aygo)
@@adamek97501.8iVtec is one of the most reliable engines out there since 2006
nice video cant decide this or a crv 2015
What did you go for in the end?
You sound a bit like Aberama Gold from peaky blinders 😂
Is it difficult to do the oil and filter change yourself?
No, super easy. The oil filter is recessed so get an oil filter socket tool 👍🏻
Hi i have same car but i have one issue with my car when i full my diesel tank then diesel shaking sound comes in cabin on specially braking on local roads its very irritating have you face this issue but when half tank used then the shaking sound is gone if you know how to fix this plz let me know
Many thanks
No idea about this. If yoyu have noise under braking then it likely won't be your fuel tank - maybe weight related.
Hi I have the same thing, owned the car now for 4 years and every time I fill the tank I hear the sloshing. Have multiple opinions on it from other owners and professionals, it seems to be normal and not a problem at all. seems to be a fairly common experience. hope this helps 👍
@@HerpKlown got the same on my hatch
I had the same car. I think your heat the sloshing because of the location of the fuel tank, as it was further forward which gave the extra boot/ under back seat room in this generation civic
I think to skip in that honda 1.6 i dtec from mitsubishi asx 1.6 gasoline
any issue with o2 sensor ?
I have a 65 plate civic tourer with 67k on and just had to change out the o2 sensor about 3 weeks ago. Really easy job did it myself no errors since touch wood
must be a common fault I just changed my 02 sensor after 88K, otherwise had no other issues
not heard of issues - mine is 114k miles now. Things wear out - 7 years on a sensor is not bad and they are cheap enough
what year is this car pl
2015
anything you move into from a civic diesel will cost more in fuel and be less reliable....
and it comes into its own on the tight twisty roads we drive...
use you r cruise control more it drives more eco than you can...
Hi
What is the mpg just on the motorway, not average mpg, driving 70 miles
Please
Should do high 60s
4:27 motorway trip at 75mph
you driving too fast to get good mpg
60 or so mpg is good enough for me. Thanks.
