Thank you for this. We ordered Roman shades online and now finally know what the back will look like (this is not mentioned by anyone or any other video I can find), so thank you!

Wish she had shown the back of the Hunter Douglas shade pulled up. I don't understand what happens to the flat fabric on the back when the shade is pulled up.

Interesting. I hadn't considered what it would look like on the back.

I don't think roman shades look bad in the back. I guess it's a matter of preference.

I am planning to make some roman shades for my front (narrow & long) windows and have been pondering that same issue of the cords on the back of the shades. To complicate things further I would like to go with a top-down style (we like to have the upper part of the window exposed for more privacy on the lower portion) which would show the cords when lowered to the living room. I have been researching and wonder if a traversing clutch system may work best. If you have any helpful suggestions for the hardware or track system I would greatly appreciate your experience and knowledge. thank you.
