The Optolyth product range includes four different binocular product series. The Alpin series includes binoculars without additional features in a simple design. The Royal series includes roof prism binoculars in the premium segment specifically for the requirements of hunters and ornithologists. The Sporting series includes compact pocket binoculars at medium prices. The ViaNova series includes easy-to-use, compact binoculars that are suitable for hiking, hunting and bird watching.
The binocular in the video is a relatively rare example of the Royal series - so rare that I haven't been able to find out all the technical data yet (FOV). I am grateful for any hints.
We can say that these binoculars live up to their name. Really royal. And these mountains, exciting the imagination, are also worthy of admiration. The rock that attracts the eye looks like a pyramid. I think that the Alps are fraught with many interesting and still unknown things.
Thanks! This is really true. Greetings from the Black Forest!
The sight is clear and well contrasted but I only wonder why they used BK7 glass ....
Also in the Alpin 7x42 I owned, was a very nice and lightweight one but thoose square shaped exit pupils lowered the overall quality sensation a lot...
Thanks for sharing these mesmerizing clips!
Hello mi friend 👍🔥. Great views as always. Tc Andy

Optolyth Royal BGA (B-for long eye relief, GA-for a Rubberrised body - as usual with all German-made instruments). Royal - was a premium lineup of the Optolyth instruments similar in design to a Zeiss Dialyts with a slightly different body design with a closed bridge and an intersting feature with a dual focusing wheel. A royal was available in different sizes: 8x56, 9x63, 7x50 (42?), 10x45.
Abbe-Koenig Prisms, An earliar versions (1970-s-1980-s) lack multi and phase coatings but still perform very well - bright and very sharp.
This looks like an early 2000's model with FMC coatings (branded as Ceralin) and probably have phase coatings.
I own a 9x63 Royal fron the early 1990's - a very nice instrument.
Thanks for the information! I really had trouble assigning these binoculars to a certain time period. With the exception of the early stages of my binocular collection, I have to admit I wasn't a particularly big Optolyth fan. But somehow I was impressed by this model - really a good binocular.
Greetings from the Black Forest!
Спасибо!
Спасибо и всего наилучшего!
field of view seemed to be big, i guess it exceeds 7 degree, at least 120 meters at 1000 meters, almost equal to 367 feet at 1000 yards
Thanks. I haven't gotten around to comparing them with other binoculars yet.
by the way, wish you can afford and get a nice set of individual 7x50 one
