The idea is to tape one of the edges then friction fit them against the ends to create that lively airtight thermal seal. Where the insulation comes down to meet the wall plate you would need to bevel cut the board to match the pitch (eg 45 degrees)
I am considering using Gapotape on an upcoming timberframe build but it works out very expensive to use not only in the roof but also the external 'stud' walls. One suggestion was to buy readily available foam on a roll together with cheaply available aluminium foil tape and use them around the PIR boards which worked out very much cheaper. Would building control be happy with this approach or does it have to be an 'approved' tape?
Gapotape has been tested so will guarantee, if installed correctly will give you an 80% uplift on your overall u-values. An untested or DIY tape wouldn’t provide the same.
I think it's great to see Matt Le Tissier has got himself another gig. Good luck with it Matt.
Wow that's nice architecture
Nice host.
Great product..far to expensive and not value for money
How do I insulate the wall plate, I’m retro fitting a chalet’s bungalow roof with insulation

Friction fit them to create an airtight thermal seal

Wow
Hallo host
Seems like this is a sponsored video? I'm not sure at the cost this is a no-brainer.
No sponsorship I'm afraid, would be nice though, just a good product
Hello
Hi
Hello
Too expensive
As oppose to having to upgrade your thermal elements when it doesn't pass an air test, i would say this is money well spent
