I have seen this scene a number of times in the last few weeks, and I have cried each time. However, I have cried the hardest with you, and for you. I feel as if I am looking at family, friends, and even myself as I watched this love story between the King and Queen. I know what it is like to love someone who is sick, cancer diagnosis after being married only eight months, so this story felt very personal to me.
Thanks for making me feel as if I had a friend to share this amazing story with me!

"No, George. I did not go over the wall." And she means it in every which way, literally and figuratively. She's never stopped loving him. I'm crying as I type. 🥲

i honestly feel a little bit bad for bridgerton season 3 cuz this is such a TOUGH act to follow😭 especially in terms of the main couple cuz Charlotte and George had hands down the best love story, love confession, best chemistry, everything. Following them is like if you are performing after Beyoncé, yk what i mean, like how do you follow basically perfection😭

I can’t explain why but it’s so satisfying to see someone stan George as much as I do. I almost didn’t watch this prequel, but my friend told me I would love George so I gave it a shot. Now I am completely obsessed lol. Obviously he’s sexy, but he also has a sweetness and gentleness about him that the other Bridgerton men don’t seem to have.

Lord Ledger brought Violet with him as a physical representation of why he and Lady Danbury couldn't carry on with the affair. It was a reminder that though he wanted her and cared for her, he had a wife and daughter to consider plus he didn't want any dishonor to come to Agatha either as result if their affair became a scandal. He knew that she'd lose all respect and dignity in the public eye and didn't wish that for her.

He never addressed the fact that he cheated on his wife, or say ok we need to stop, I'm done, I can't do this, I'm breaking up with you. Also Violet was nowhere to be found when he got into Danbury's house to have sex with her, I'm just saying 😏

He told Charlotte that he would be here sometimes, and sometimes he wouldn't, but how great is it that Charlotte knows how to get him back. And I believe she got him back many times 15 babies😊. I read that she died a year before he did, and I imagine him going under the bed waiting for his Charlotte not knowing she had passed.😢😭😭😭😭 This is what unconditional love looks like. It’s subtle but before he left for his speech to Parliament, Charlotte told George he was ready. Before & at the ball, she asked him if he was ready. She gave him agency like he gave her at the garden wall.
I can image a scenario where one day George no longer recognizes Reynolds and doesn't trust him anymore (like w/Charlotte in Bridgerton Season 1). It becomes impossible for Reynolds to serve him anymore so Reynolds is reassigned or retires.

I think Lady Violet's mom sent Violet with Lord Ledger to rub in Lady Danbury's face that she's never going to replace her. Took me a few watches to get it. That's why Violet said "I don't know how I can 'be in her hair' when we have so many rooms," her mom sent her so Lord Ledger wouldn't be alone with Lady Danbury. Not sure how she may have figured it out but I'm almost certain that's what that was about. And that was definitely a true goodbye. 😞

Hmm, interesting perspective, but I'd disagree. Lady Ledger is painted as a bit of a bit of a caricature. Ignorant and oblivious in her racism. Probably so we don’t examine the cheating element of Lady Danbury’s ‘blooming’ too closely. I’d doubt it would even enter her mind that her husband would desire a woman like Agatha, let alone understand all the ways in which she’s superior to her. I think Lord Ledger brought Violet to end things as a reminder to both himself and Lady D of them why he was doing it. He emphasises ‘unimpeachable reputation like Lady Danbury’ because he knows how they could ruin things for everyone if they continue their affair. I'd like to think he respects Lady Danbury and Violet too much to do that in good conscience. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the Lord Ledger romance because she's a catch and deserves an available hottie (not Adolphus) - but I think after a lifetime of being degraded by and obsequious to men, meeting a man who truly listened to and respected her was just as important to her blooming as finally getting properly laid, lol

This is the sacrament of marriage to love and to hold for better or for worse in sickness and in health til death do us part. These two people beat the odds and kept faithful to their vows. What is nice is that in real life history says George and Charlotte loved each other. They really did. It's not just in the movies. Charlotte had 15 children, 13 of them survived into adulthood. The last son who hugged her would be the father of Queen Victoria, one of Britain's longest reigning monarchs. It just blows the mind that she was 17 years old and knew little of the world and she was chosen to be the queen consort of the then most powerful empire. And George endured so much. His son would have to take over when George was middle aged. What that man must have suffered with no real lasting cure in sight. Amazing people.

Charlotte and George's story is absolutely a tragedy, their actual relationship is basically perfect but George's illness is an obstacle that they just don't have the ability to remove 😥

Regarding what happened to Reynolds, this is directly from an interview with Hugh Sachs, the actor who plays Brimsley:
“There was a scene that we didn’t film, because it was cut, where I was going to meet the older Reynolds. He was the love of his life, and for whatever reason, they could not stay together. So, when they would pass each other in the passageway in the deleted scene, it wasn’t a toxic moment. Because of the world they inhabited, it was still a hangable offence to be gay, and it was just not possible.”
However, the scene WAS cut, so it is not canon. I suppose anyone can make up their own mind as to what might have happened. I think the most obvious one is that Reynolds has since passed away.
As to the insistence of Lord Bute and Princess Augusta, you must consider the time in history: it was vital for the King to be THE King, otherwise everyone would be in danger.

Our Line - I agree wholeheartedly with you about a season 2 - I really would like go follow the character more - and see what happens next . I actually wanted Lady Bandbury to get married and become a Queen so I was sad when she turned it down - we all deserve someone special -
I love your reviews and your edits so funny and spot on
I too cried at the end I think it’s the juxtaposition of power the fact that they both are on the floor together - is absolutely powerful a love and bond from the bottom to the top May we all have that - season 2 season 2!!!’ Charolette n George my favorite couple

I can't wait for your reactions to S2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty because I'm currently halfway done with the second book. Last year I wanted to read the books first before watching the show but I stopped for some reason after like 50 pages so now I'm finally reading them all in time for the second season. I'm so excited to catch up with the show and to watch your reactions to it because, since Ginny & Georgia, you really have become one of my absolute favourite reactors ❤

I read the first book via Lola Tung’s voice on audiobook and loved it! I hope you enjoy book 2! I started crying a few minutes into it and had to stop seeing as I didn’t want any more spoilers before July, but I can’t wait for the new episodes as well! Thank you for your kind words! The child that Charlotte goes to tell George about will become Queen Victoria.
I doubt Bridgerton will kill Queen Charlotte off. But in real life Queen Charlotte died 1818 while Queen Victoria was born in 1819, and King George died in 1820.
But if they kind of stick to history, then this would be one of if not their last meeting ever.
King George III was longest reigning monarch in English history, up until Queen Victoria. So Charlotte coming to tell him of her arrival just seems so fitting, their line endured and is being past on.

I think the Charlotte & George story itself is good where it is, but I still want to see their story in the general story line (just not a full season). I would quite like a Violet: A Bridgerton Story, giving Violet's love story back in time, which could include all the same actors (and continuations of their story lines) as this series.

Now you don''t have to endure bruises, there are ways out and there are people willing and able to help you. In those days, there were no options for a woman who was beaten or abused apart from endure. Women did what they could and what they had to do to survive.
