What I love the most about bachmann HO is that the switches are offered with the DCC built in, so a layout can easily be made on the floor with DCC

Seems good for a small layout. I have many turnouts and it has been more economical to use a DS74 to contol turnouts, including crossovers, the 2 separate switches to one address on the 74.

Will the E-Z Command® Control Center power the non-DCC Bachmann turnout? I just purchased my first train set and expansion pack, and I cannot get the turnouts to operate, I only hear a quiet buzzing sound when operating the switch. I have the turnout plugged into the provided switch and the switch connected to one of my powered re-railer ports.

So I see in the demo that there are 3 of the boxes set up together and each controls a switch, if you were going to use the turnout decoder building instead would you need one of those for each switch as well? If so, how do you run them in series like you guys showed with these boxes?

    • @russcole5685

Yes, or pull the guts out of these and install under the roadbed, no wires needed, just like the DCC turnouts are

I have never seen a connection where the power is a able end to end. They seem to have wires coming out Since I have the 44211 this is basically my issue. Help PLEASE...

I don't get the point there; is this to upgrade a DC Bachmann layout with switch already there to DCC ? Or is this to sell switches with a turnout decoder ? Because if this is the later this is just dumb since the decoder should have been directly integrated to the switch roadbed and the power would be already there from the tracks .... here is a mess of wires so i m not sure i correctly get the point....

    • @BachmannTrainsUSA

This is to upgrade non-DCC turnouts to DCC

    • @russcole5685
      @russcole5685 Год назад

You are very correct. I brought these to upgrade switched turnouts to DCC. Pulled the guts out and installed under the road bed. No more wires, just like the DCC equipped turnouts. For a double turnout, join the wires together so only need one module to switch both

DCC turnouts would cut out the "middle man" of having to use the Turnout Decoders.

I have a pretty good sized (28' x 24') "P" shaped N scale layout in my basement. I am using ALL Bachmann EZ track including # 4 and #6 turnouts and crossovers and Bachmann EZ Command DCC system. So far, I am very well satisfied with the performance of the Bachmann track and DCC system. This controller could be just what l am looking for. However, what do you do if there are more than 10 turnouts?

If they are switched through signal, they should have a wire underneath the track to plug in. If they a manual throw by hand, they will have a plastic frog, unpowered

I have Bachman EZ-Track turnouts with DCC on board and plan to use an NCE PH Power Pro wireless cab to control the 12-13 turnouts. How to I set up the turnouts to work with the NCE system? Thank you!

Did you ever find out, I don't think Bachmann DCC turn outs work with any other system other than Bachmann. The address coding is not nmra I figured this out after gerti g some Tam valley turn out singlets to convert manual switches to DCC. I can program them on the Bachman controller, but work fine on a cheap second hand Hornby controller. I've asked bachmann for their address Number and never have heard back

This item is nowhere to be found, out of stock everywhere! I use Bachmann DCC track and turnouts/crossovers... but its nice to have another accessory or non DCC track controller. Ever since I saw this video last year I looked online and my local hobby shops... Nothing available. Tower hobbies does mention it'll be back in stock around April 2023? I'm waiting 😒

Yes, I done the same with their cross overs. Just cut the ires under the track and join together. If you get this unit. Pull the guts out and install it under the road bed, no wires at all then. All done through the rails

Awesome dcc switch helper. But i got a question about the thomas range. You guys said you will keep making Thomas models but recently salty a dock side diesel that works next to the ocean with cranky is off your main page along with his sets and many other sets like emily and her coaches, a James set and i believe a old Percy set as well (if i missed any sets put it down below pls) so the question is what is happen to them? Did you discontinue them for some reason if so why? or are you updateing the models again why? I ask because a lot of people get started with model train sets especially the Thomas universe ones and you guys said you will keep making thomas models. this should concluded salty and the other sets i give as well. So can you pls give us a heads up on whats going on with the Thomas models?

    • @BachmannTrainsUSA

@@russcole5685 You can access E-Z Command turnouts using address 9 on an E-Z Command control center to select turnout mode and then use the other 8 function buttons to assign and toggle the turnouts. For other DCC systems, you will need to set up the turnouts and operate them in programming mode. You will have to check your DCC system manual to see the steps for your system if you do not have E-Z Command.

@@BachmannTrainsUSA you're not hearing me. I have DCC turn outs working and programmed fine on the Bachmann EZ Command controller, I can not reprogram, or use them on another system. Channel 9 is not the same on Bachmann as it is with Hornby. I'm asking for the NMRA channel number for point switching that Bachmann uses as there channel 9 for accessory switch. Because with Bachmann DCC EZ Command controller, to throw a switch you need to use loco address 9, then function number. How does that translate to NMRA channel ID number. My layout has grown, I need more than 10 turnouts. If a can't get them to work, I will be ripping up my entire layout and move to another More NMRA friendly system. Then I'll be able to achieve my goal without being locked into a brand specifically.
