This song is crazy good. This gives me Heilung vibes. Hear me out (some theory crafting): What if Wally is just a lonely entity that is touch-starved? Infantile in nature; an empty cup that requires filling--neither good or evil. And creates doppelgangers for the sole purpose of keeping himself company, but it's not enough. He longs to be accompanied by those he's seen; Albrecht, the people on the Zariman, etc. I wonder if by the end of all this, the Lotus will join Wally in the Void to keep him company, a la Poltergeist. "I'll keep you company." Just a thought? I say this because (SPOILERS!) at the end of this 'fight', we were able to pacify the Man in the Wall. I sincerely believe the Man in the Wall isn't inherently evil. But it's really... *really* strange that we chose to pacify it, instead of sucker-punching it in the face like I thought would happen. Lmao. There's got to be a reason. Also love that it was a bit symbolic considering Albrecht and Loid.
when we touched his face like Albrecht did with Loid, I couldn't help but think about what Ballas said during the Sacrifice Quest about Operators and Frames: "to see inside an ugly, broken thing, and take away its pain"
It's a silly theory, but I agree. For whatever reason, I have always had the feeling that Wally was touch-starved or something. Also, he said that we ran away from the 'deal'. Maybe the Tenno weren't meant to leave the Void. It's hard to paint him as THE villain yet, too, because he has reasons to hate us. We stole his fingers (or part of him that made up the fingers of that form he chose) and we haven't even thought about returning those to him.
@@fantalone666 I just love Wally, he is one of my absolutly favorite characters and I kinda fear that DE wants to turn him into THE VILLAIN. There is no such thing as a 'silly theory', only fun theory crafting here. :) There is definitely something up with Wally. Honestly it’s suiting, the way Wally acts and his mannerisms are more closely in line with Loki from pagan mythology. A chaotic neutral god who does stuff only if he found it funny or just to mess with the other gods. So it very much suits him honestly
The bit starting around 2:42 gives such a forboding feeling. As if you are trapped in a dark dangerous place at the mercy of whatever void horrors are at play. I am loving the vibes this tileset is giving!
I haven't played the new update yet, but I'm getting some Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice vibes. Love how far this game's music / gameplay / story has come.
It meant to convey the fear of danger that is deep ingrained in all living things - the type of fear that lizard brain deep in your skull screams in sheer terror. Perfect for the unimaginable, indescribable, and eldritch horror that is The Man In The Wall\Indifference\Void.
I love how around the 2:45 mark we get to hear three distinct voices (if we ignore the background vocals). The first sounds like it's trying to shout and sounds rather shrill, the second I'd calmer and a bit quieter, perhaps an echo. The third, as soft as it might try to be when it comes in, it's a booming voice, like it's bellowing.
Dang do I wish there was more of that ending bit, it's so beautiful with the duet harmonics of the voices as you use to vessel to lovingly lay a hand upon the MITW possessed one
Was interesting hearing this in game when the Whisper clone of you glitches out and the book never spawns. It just keeps playing and loops on and on lol.
This song is just perfect inflection of This Is What You Are, or whatever song has the child chorus of ethereal voices. This is just as Eldritch, but even more hostile and terrifying. A wall of apathy bent on ruining existence itself. A larger than life being more incomprehensible than any that came before.
I love the contrast of brutalist, almost barbaric music coming from that which lives in the void while before all of the void themed music was very calm and had some monastic elements to them
"I have given and I shall take. You are nothig, you are naught. Whatever you think you have, its thanks to ME!" The Man in the Wall struck out but as the dust settles, the Tenno scattered just a bit. Bo longer fearing the entity, no longer running away. Octavia pulls out her mandachord and starts playing. Her melodies echo in the vaste and distract the splintered. Banshee chimes in, focuses the sound on her and increases its effectiveness, vibrations. Wally growls and as he tries to lash out, a barbed wire slang around his arm, cutting but not draibing blood. Valkyr lunged at him, screaming in anger and ready to slash his face - Wally phased out. It was close, valkyr crashed into the pillar, but thise damned GIRLS with their music! For now, he must retreat 5:32 t.
