- Large machines and a small space are not really compatible. But if you have nothing else and still want industrial equipment you have to do it anyway. Let’s see if 5 sqm can fit 2.5 tons of machinery.

I love your work but please no gloves at any tool that spins and especially the lathe. You do such a great job, it would be a shame to see your hands get ripped to shreds.
If you don't touch a spinning object. Gloves and long sleeves is no problem 😊
He'll be fine
The only gloves that are acceptable are disposable nitrile gloves, I still wouldn't be touching a rotating part though.
You are a monkey if you put your fingers in a spinning thing, The long chip can grab your skin too, you dont use close? use a plier, a stick, don toch it, like in a drop forgin power hammer, use tools
I agree with this sentiment, I worked in the medical field before, I have seen machine operators come into the emergency room with whole limbs missing after getting sleeves or gloves caught in the lathe (or degloved fingers on the mill).
One of the most difficult aspects of a small workshop is keeping it clean and keeping swarf out of everything around the machines.
Yeah he needs a cllear plastic curtain for the lathe collets, and a soft plastic cover over the lathe chucks.
Shower curtain works quite well, it is thick but can be shaped around items.
You have built a dream there man.
Enjoyed your video on setting up the machine shop ! 👍, Nice spread of content to watch, and great practical solutions to storing your tooling ! 😁, You've set the bar high with this video, can't wait to see what comes next ! 😎
I was wondering what happened to that young guy, who did such a fantastic job refurbishing the milling machine ?
Great to see you back and looking forward to your future adventures
Gotteswinter standards precision workshop. Respect!
Great work. Really looking forward for all that is coming. 👍
Very impressive workshop!
And your video and editing are excelllent too, very professional.
Liked and subscribed. 👍🛎
29:04 a mouse will really enjoy living in your tool holder box
Absolutely fantastic organization of your tools. It must have taken a long time to print out all of those tool holders.
I'm very impressed with your progress. We're all excited to see what you'll do next!
Just came across your channel. I look forward to watching more from you.
Sieht sehr gut aus, klasse geworden.
Well organised little workshop. Excellent work making the lathe threading dial.
Thank you for the video. My workshop space is around the same as yours. I also take inspiration from Clickspring's tiny shop space.
Excellent looking shop you have made here. I hope to have my own one day
Good one, top score, well done !!
Nice job man.
Well i'm impressed, well done that man.
Very interesting and a superb use of very limited space. Excellent job on recreating the thread dial indicator, the result looks really good. 3D printing of tool holder storage brackets was a good idea. I have the same lathe as you but I think mine is slightly longer (40" variant) Vielen Dank!
What a great video!!! I have a narrow but longish workshop with limited space & everything is hanging on the walls like yours. Occasionally I have a hanging bracket/shelving reshuffle to get that extra inch!!!!
the man is back! have a good weekend!
First time viewing your channel. Great job! I have a little bigger shop but it is a challenge for sure to layout ones shop, especially when one keeps adding more machines to it!
Yes I subscribed...!
Very Nice ! At a certain point it is a Advantage to have everything in betwen 2 meters of reach ! i see no drawbacks here !
Nice job Phil
Hey man well done organizing your tiny machine shop. I know exactly what it's like, my shop also has an available floor space of 5 square metres which houses a medium sized 900mm x 300mm lathe, medium sized universal knee mill ( hafco HM54GV for those in Australia ) I also have a universal tool and cutter grinder a pedestal drill a jib crane, small pedestal grinder/linisher and tooling trolley for the mill plus other tool boxes oh and a bench with a vice all in that space, outside that room I have mig and tig welders and a medium sized band saw. If I have to set up the mill for horizontal cutting I have to take the grinder/linisher outside otherwise I am trapped in the room. I don't know what the humidity is like where you are but one tip I would give you especially having a 3D printer is everywhere you have metal and wood surfaces touching together put a plastic barrier between them or you will have a rust problem because wood draws moisture from the air and holds it. I have to keep everything covered in plastic here due to the humidity. Oh and magnetic pickup tools are great for cleaning up the chip mess. Happy cutting and look forward to your next video.
Amazing job! ill probably take some inspiration for setting up my own garage shop soon. Might I recommend making a access hole in the side of the box holding all your taper holders? Knowing myself I would definitely drop something in there and struggle to take it back out haha
By chance I've stumbled upon your channel. Enjoyed your videos. Liked and Subscribe. 👍
Very cozy space. 👍🏼
jeez, youre as organized as clough42, which is rare !
How is it possible that I haven’t found this channel before? 🤷♂️
Definitely need to have a look through your content. 👌
Good work..subscribed..🎉
thanks for the video
You got my sub 🎉
Hi Phil, I’m really enjoying your channel. I’ve watched your previous two videos on your lathe overhaul and found them very useful because I’ve just purchased 4 days ago) a Cholchester Triumph 2000 which I believe is the same as yours with just a different name. The dealer I purchased it from has changed the gearbox oil but I’m not sure what he used so I will drain it and put the correct oil in it. Thanks for that piece of important info. Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺
Hi, no the triumph is actually the bigger brother, a really nice machine. Take a look inside the manual what they recommended and then ask what the modern version is. Pretty sure the triumph takes shell oil too.
@@PhilEngineering Yes, mine takes the same oil. Thanks.
You need to put the machinists level on the ways of the lathe .... Lovely looking machines . 😊😊
Thats not necessary
The slide is running on the bed. Its better to put the level on the slide. So you can even put small deviations of the bed. The touching surface us way bigger with the sled
It is good to see you. Yes I do like the look of your shop.
Just 1 thing Please don't keep us waiting so long before we see you again.
I found this guy on RUclips I think you will be interested "HAL Heavy Duty Machining Australia" He like you needs to beknown.
Brilliant video. Look forward to future ones. Do you plan to release any of your print files? I have been organising my workshop with my printer and a few of your files are on my list.
I may release some files in the future.
Workshop Tetris :)
Great job! Love the German attention to detail 😉 Are you setting this up purely for a hobby shop for RUclips or are you planning to take on paid work? Just curious
Right now just for my personal stuff.
A threadibg does not wirk with metric threads.
Only with imperial.
In metric its only working with a few sizes
Hallo, i have a question: how do you power those tools. Im planning on getting something similar but they are 380v three phase. I have 220v here.
I have real 3 phase power. If you don’t have access to that I recommend trying a Phase Converter.
So cool!!! So many mechanical parts make up such fine equipment. I marvel at your ability to work with your hands, perhaps you have some contact information or email address we could chat about collaborating?
How does that threading indicator works if the gear stack doesn't engage the key?
The stack is just for storage only the gear at the end is engaging the leadscrew. The different gears are for different pitches like the plate shows.
@@PhilEngineering oooh, had a brainfart there.
1m thick walls? Is it a shed or a bomb shelter? Haha.
Old German basement :D
i think that floor is gonna be a real problem for cleaning around
love all the lil 3d printed orgalizational bits though, very nice.
stabil, ich hab viel mehr platz und es sieht nicht halb so gut aus :)
Super warsztat 🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾
