Nah, he and Kareena have over-acted quite a lot in Asoka. Killed an other wise good story. The only movie SRK has performed subtly is in Swades. And then ‘Dil Se’ is worth a watch due to its cinematography, story telling and music, followed by ‘Chak De’ due to theme based on sports and the sheer adrenaline rush of watching highs and lows of the sport team.
True... Ashoka is in my opinion the best historical movie in Bollywood. The only problem is the item song and some comedy scenes with Jonny lever and Danny Danzongpa which were really unnecessary. They should have edited that out. Otherwise, the movie is really good in terms of the tone of the movie, costuming, hairstyles, art direction and war scenes. Also, it's one of the few films where Kareena has got an important role (not just the love interest of the hero) and she has performed it really well.

You have to watch DON and DON 2, best franchise in bollywood. It's simply amazing. SRK, Boman Irani and Priyanka are ❤❤. And Farhan Akhtar directed and wrote both.
Honestly I think this song is so much cuter and more dear to me because it's SRK's voice. It's kind of half rap half singing which is easier for him to get away with. He also did the rap part of Khaike Paan Banaraswala from Don which is, incidentally, the best example of him and Udit Narayan having almost the exact same voice. He fully sings in Chennai Express, but it's supposed to be kind of bad and funny so it works. I don't think it's that he can't sing, he just doesn't know how. In my opinion, his biggest problem is really lack of breath support. He doesn't have a bad ear or anything. I've heard him carry a tune. It's just way harder to keep a solid note if you don't have breath support. Not that he could suddenly be a playback singer if he learned breath support, but it would be closer to passable.

You guys should visit Goa during your next trip to India.. This movie captured the Goa vibe really well. This particular song was not about melody, harmony technique blah... It was an extension of the fun moments in the story which almost every other Indian would have enjoyed.

Ive noticed that you havent reviewed many of SRK's big movies..... I would recommend the following..... Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge (which was the biggest blockbuster of his career), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Khabie Khushi Khabi Gham, Kal Ho Na Ho, Veer Zaara, Main Hoon Na & Don
This song was really problematic it was just telling people to keep on harassing a girl until she says yes
