Raga Jaunpuri based Portuguese adaptation of Nazrul Sangeet Dedicated to Late Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan. "Verily we all belong to Allah and we will all return to Him." (Al Quran Ch-2 Verse-156). With a huge pain and heavy heart I have just come to know that a few hours before the Great Maestro of Patiyala Gharana or School of Classical Music Ustad Bade Fateh Ali Khan started his eternal journey to meet The Supreme Being The Almighty in Lahor Pakistan for whom I had a very special obsession. Oh! He was my so favorite, how could I explain! For the last two weeks almost everyday I was listening his Raga Jaunpuri and so may times repeatedly.It was so touching I could not stop my tears even. Probably it was the best rendition of Jaunpuri to my understanding I have ever heard.I did also composed my own version in Portuguese language inspired by him based on same raga and expression namely separation or pain or in Portuguese "saudades". The rhythmic cycle I used here is of 16-bits in Tritaal.This is indeed my another adaptation of music from Kazi Nazrul Islam The National Poet of Bangladesh. This one I composed on 08 May 2016 and performed for the first time in Lisbon before a very distinguished audience comprising scholars and musicology researchers from all over the world on 09 June 2016 at The Auditorium of Communidade Hindu de Lisboa, during an International Musicology Conference ICMHM'16 organized by Ethno-musicology Institute INET-md, FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisbon. I am hereby dedicating my composition based on Raga Jaunpuri in 16-bits Tritaal to this immortal maestro and an all-time great legend in Indo-Pak-Bangla Classical Music after Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan from the same Patyiala school. My humble tribute goes to this immortal soul. May Allah Grant His highest mercy and love as well as place him in the highest peaceful station in the heaven nearest to The Almighty. I actually watched this program when it was aired back in winter of 1983. Lahore TV's producer Mr. Farrukh Bashir used to select one raag per episode. This was the episode in which Mehdi Hassan Khan sahib (late) on the spot composed and sang his famous ghazal written by Parveen Shakir (late) "Aaa mere pyar ki khushboo" in raag Darbari.
After the demise of his brother Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan used to sing with his nephew Amjad Amanat Ali Khan. The he sand with Rustam fateh Ali Khan, his son. This is an old recording of the grand Raag Darbari.

With due resgards, as I remember, and if I am not mistaken, "Aaa mere pyar ki khushboo" was sung by Ustad Amanat Ali Khan Sahib and not by Ustad Mehdi Hassan Khan Sahib.
