Dear sir, I have been listening to this series of speeches on Rahul' talk as LoP. You made a very thorough and thoughtful analysis of the speech, also a handful of new learning especially with respect to wide range of reading resources you mentioned. As you correctly mentioned, part of the success of Rahul's speech was BJP MP's themselves. Many of them underestimated him as 'Pappu' as his false image was built up for the last 10 years or so. But, when this man started presenting his case in a structured manner, BJP MP's untimely background score of shouting from the beginning to end of his speech added to the visual and audio impact of his speech. Just as how the background score of a movie add to the mood and setting of every scene, this background shouting created an ambience of indirectly accepting the facts he was talking about.

The nasty commotion in the parliament during the speech of the leader of the opposition was expected. The BJP MP s have indulged in severe disruption during the proceedings during the last UPA government. It is not only BJP, every party indulges in utter disruption in the legislative assemblies of all States. It is noticeable that our Indian people as well as leaders lack maturity even after 70 years of self rule; they have not reached the maturity of /equal to the maturity of the legislators in Britain, Europe, Japan,, USA etc. Hence, I would say, disruptive, argumentative nature has not left our countrymen.

The moral authority of this person is damaged by his wild assertion that EVERYONE was embarrassed by Birla's statements, since we may safely assume his camp was not at all embarrassed. Gandhi is prone to vague generalisations, whereas he should have come up with some factual data on the topics he highlighted. Despite an improvement in his popularity, he faces a huge task to neutralise the hundreds of millions who will never vote for this family, having been convinced they are behind the poverty and corruption in the country, and the party has made no serious effort to fight that belief. Such speeches will not sway the hardcore support base of the Govt., who belong to an altogether different mind-set. Best not to forget, 100 versus 240 is the real strength of the two parties, first past the post system being a flawed way to put appropriate representation of the population into Parliament. Rahul is strutting around as though he has won the Elections, having completely overlooked the reality of the situation. Has he begun to plan the 2029 Elections? Nope, I should venture to suggest. He loves being in the Opposition, as he glowingly asserted, such is the level of delusion of this man and his cohorts. If he believes he can protect the Constitution from the Opposing benches, perhaps he may wish to ponder what protection he could provide if he were actually in Government.
