We are extremely well equipped for that. Every highrise is built to withstand a CAT5 and most residential homes have impact resistant windows plus hurricane shutters. Irma came though as a strong CAT3 and it was no big deal. I just stayed in my building and ate snacks all day and watched palm trees fighting the wind horizontally.

Awesome video!! I live in Miami and the rent is insane. It's so obvious that politicians don't care about the climate change stuff either, just making money.
That's because THERE IS NO CLIMATE CHANGE. Jeezus brother, just think.....would BANKS loan BILLIONS to these developers if they thought it'd be underwater or even in danger of being under water? Why do Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry and Bill Gates ALL have ocean-front property that they've bought in the last 15 years? Would the Four Seasons invest tens of millions in resorts on islands in the Pacific like Tahiti, Bora Bora and the Maldives, resorts where you literally step out of your house into the ocean a couple of feet below you, if they'd be submerged in a few or even a hundred years????? Would Porsche, Bentley and Aston Martin, all hyper "climate hoax" Euro companies, build waterfront and beachfront billion dollar hi-rise residential units in Miami if they would LOSE all that money in a few years???? Just ask yourself......Al Gore said Manhattan and Miami would be submerged by 2016............Because all the experts agreed......Just ask a few questions and it all comes tumbling down.
They've been replenishing the sand from areas nearby but ran out in 2014, and now they're trying to buy it from the bahamas don't sound so sure about it instead pray because the clock is ticking.
As someone who grew up in Miami, you represent Miami as this new oasis minus the climate change issues and obv cost of living for locals. Here's the reality: Miami will never be a world class city. Here are the two main reasons: Culture - Hispanic culture does not put emphasis on details, accuracy, or, most importantly, punctuality. Life - fun, food, drink, partying - is more important in Miami than the real grit and hard work ethic that you find in other real world class cities. This also permeates through local politics. I personally love it as a Hispanic conservative/Catholic but it also reeks of typical Latin American political corruption. Infrastructure - roads in Florida and in Miami are great. But our mass transit is shit. Not world class material.
Yep. I lived there for three years. Paradise gets mighty crowded at times. I go back for work now, and for the first 30 minutes, I think, why did we ever leave? Then, two hours later, when I'm sitting in traffic, trying to go five miles, it comes back to me.
Okay. I have a house in Coral Gables, FL just a few miles from downtown / Brickell. The sea level has not gone up a single inch since I built the boat dock. Knock off the scare tactics. Sad.
Six inches in the past 50 years- it would be very hard for you to measure that, with tides and all. But another six inches in the next 15 years, and six in the ten years after that; and nowhere more than six feet above sea level- you are going to notice.

I know a way to combat inflation. It's what they do in europe. At least I know they do it in France. There needs to be a cap on how much money people can make a year. No one should be making more then a million dollars a year. And the more you make the more you pay in taxes. Everything would balance out. But no the rich has to make their billions of dollars a year and leave everyone else living paycheck to paycheck. The rich don't care about anyone but themselves. And Florida is a prime example of this. As far as rent is concentrd.
Miami will adapt as it always does. Make new reservoirs or silos for the excess water, invest in new construction techniques to keep people dry and all's fine and dandy.
The highly educated and experienced engineers who we all count on to create those adaptations say there is no way to fix Miami's water supply when sea level rise causes salt to go through the limestone under the whole peninsula and render the water undrinkable.
but then once again, who cares !? not the city officials who are rather busy raking in the big bucks. which would leave the government quite speechless with revenues
You people make laugh 😆 I live much more in land NO FLOODING! Of Fort Lauderdale Florida or more North of Miami Florida in a tiny town of Pembroke Pines Broward Florida and we still have open land are welcome for builders!

It is a total joke to think they could build seawalls around the HUGE areas all right on the water. Once the water comes in forget it.

Its been underwater since 2000, just ask Al Gore.
Wow, everyone has forgotten that Most of Florida was Swamp Land in the 1970s, 1960s, 1950s, and prior.
We can't even properly maintain new York and you wanna build a city underwater??

😂😂
Miami is sinking because they keep building up on Oolite Rock
The Miami area actually is losing population right now. Atlanta metro recently passed it in population. Its 9th overall. Atlanta is now 8th
Good point. Rent increases are causing many to leave. It’s unfortunate :(
Untrue. Miami's population has never seen a decrease, and has been growing since 1950.
Atlanta Metro - 6.1M
Miami metro - 6.25M
Big difference between Metro and a City.. Metro includes rural areas.
vice city is done for the future.
Great contact for the size of the channel
I miss Miami every day but I left for that very reason financially :/
Miami is SO expensive, it’s crazy. Thanks for watching!
It seems people don't care and do not look at the big picture at all..
I don't have kids. Why should I care about the future of the human race? This planet is a torture chamber.
Miami won’t be under water for a very long time.
In half of 2024 the streets are already flooded probably will take awhile before it's completely underwater by then it will probably be evacuated
I love Florida, but I’m scared about the sea level rising that’s why I cannot move to Florida
It's Ok.....everyone can move to HAVANA!!!
Miami might be ok in the short term, but in the long term a losing proposition. A no-brainer.
By that logic this entire planet will one day be destroyed in the long term as well.
Soon = like never?
Maybe, maybe not. Only time will tell. Thanks for watching!

Keep being in denial it's how this happened in the first place.
There are two types of people. Those who beleive in whats happening in reality and those who beleive what they want to beleive. 🤔 🤔
