    Ok, ok, ok. This is hands down the best flight demonstration of any product I have seen. You guys nailed it! Great flying, great plane, tons of history right back to Lindbergh. I can't wait until they come up with a bigger one - on two 6s batteries! Keep up the great work! Thanks for posting.

    I maidened mine last week. I set it up exactly as specs in manual. All it needed off the bench was a click or two of Ail. trim, and it flew like it was on rails. Very satisfied with this plane. It looks like the real-thing when she banks and catches the sun on the silver paint. Warning…she comes down like a meteor at low power with zero flaps. It was windy that day gusting to 15kts and I had to land with a stout bounce without them…was glad I went ahead and installed the upgraded oleo struts, however…the larger 3" DUBro tires mounted to the upgraded main struts DO Not fit the main wheel wells…I almost toasted a retract when the tires bound up on the wells. The 2.5" DUBro fit the nose well with no problem…only the mains were too big, (when mounted to the "upgraded" shock absorbing struts. The OEM tires are not quite as cool, but they fit the wells perfectly. I am really liking this plane! SHe is not a fast-roller, but neither was the real one. If flown to scale, you will be very pleased with how this model flies.

      The real J-25 thru L-10 models rolled very fast at high speeds. Faster then the P-47; and the FW-190.
      Of course this model may not reach the 300 MPH where the late models came into their own.
      I want one. I don't need another bad habit. 😎

    I have had my old E-flite P-38 going on 9 years now and still fly it regularly. After seeing this model it will be added to the flightline.

    You mentioned the elevator was mixed with the flaps as prescribed by the manual. The manual I have states that the elevator neutral position is 4mm up and the recommended elevator L/R is 1.5mm down and H/R 3mm down. This still has the elevator as up when the flaps are deployed at both positions. Your video clearly shows the elevator neutral point starts as "0" neutral, not 4mm up.

    Not all gear doors are closed. Nose gear didn't retract fully, causing the front landing gear door to be stuck in the open position. 9:17

    One thing I have learned is the tempture has a lot to do with flight time. I have found out in cooler weather I seem to have more flight time where as in hot weather it is less.

    My dream plane since the 1st day i got in the sport 4 years ago. I might be a little “risk adverse” waiting 4 years, but I’d like to get it down in one piece, 2 pieces at worst. I got the landing gear upgrade, extra props, extra spinners, and an extra nose. If I’m going down, I’m going nose/prop/spinner first.

      If you have been flying well, you should be fine with this beauty. Enjoy her.

      My ocd kicked in hardcore. I went 18 months not flying the P-38, about 6 months just looking at the Me-262. What a joke. The P-38 was one of the easiest planes to takeoff, fly and land. Skipped flying the Me-262, but bought the 1600mm Corsair and the 1600mm spitfire the following week. Flew them both the day after the build. All I can say is “Wow, Wow, WOW!” All 3 are a dream to fly. Very stable, very fast and very scale looking in flight. These 3 planes are why I got in the sport. Wish I had the confidence 3 years ago to try a large scale. Much easier to fly than the 1100-1200’s, and wind doesn’t mess with them.

    Such a beautiful plane. Liked the FPV footage, would like to see more of that! So you're getting 8 min of mixed flying on 2x3000mAh 4S? That's really pretty good. If you opted for a non-scale style prop, would it increase the efficiency even more? Great video as usual!

      Its possible just depends what you want. At a point you will trade performance for time. I trust that these are designed just right. We do offer a different power package that gives more speed at the expense of duration. Always a trade off.

    • @MotionRC

      Tough to go bigger with the battery compartment size on this. RC warbirds are not usually long-range FPV platforms. Check our ZOHD lineup

    Looking a the prop to ground clearance it doesn't look like it would fly from a short grass runway :(

    • @brentnorman6848
      @brentnorman6848 8 лет назад +1

      I fly mine from a grass runway that isn't super short grass with no problems. I am using the stock setup right now. Have lots of flights with zero issues with gear or wheels. I am super happy!

    • @chebertjr
      @chebertjr 8 лет назад +1

      Brent you using the stock wire gear? Or did you change them out with oleos?

    • @brentnorman6848
      @brentnorman6848 8 лет назад +1

      I am using the stock struts and wheels. I have the Dubro diamond treaded wheels, but have not put them on yet. I do have some grass on the fuse sides, but that is easily removed with some water or brushed off later on. Our field is far from smooth so will add oleos later on.

      Oilsmoke Jones Foam is great ,a medium crash with a balsa plane and it's game over ,with foam a bit of glue and keep flying.

      Don't get me wrong styrofoam is good stuff. I had a cheap cooler for years and patched it with Elmers yellow..at the club guys fly those and stick 'um back together with hot glue when they wreck..much faster.... wish I had known...
