Whenever a Police officer stops a vehicle, they don't even look in the trunk, search the vehicle or the occupants, all they do is look at the tires, the insurance, and registration, they seldom even check if the serial number match, all they interested in is how huge a fine they can issue a ticket for, that is based on how much they can ask for or collect, if the offense will cost $40,000 they want at least half in order to let you go, then you drive a little further down the road, another Police stops you and it keeps multiplying, everybody has to get a cut, who caused it, nobody but Andrew Holness. Think it was the JLP’s election to lose. On two occasions, they failed to read the pulse of the nation. First in 2011 when they called elections too soon after a massive scandal with Bruce Golding and last year when they gave themselves those monumental raises in the midst of significant inflation globally. Jamaicans are highly emotional, to the point they carry grudges. They’ll either vote based on those feelings or don’t show up to the polls.
Maverick as it now stands the JLP has 9 municipals after winning the Clarendon and St. Thomas municipalities. The PNP still has 4. The Eastern Rural St. Andrew is yet to be finally counted and will be done at a more secure place on Duke Street. Marky G made a false start when he jumped out of the blocks expressing victory in the name of Portia and PJ and of course Joshua. It's not looking so good for the PNP at all especially with the kind of campaign put on by Mark Golding the kind of confidence going into the polls....
Is a pity we couldn't have online voting. Once you are a registered voter then you just enter your ID number online and cast your vote. For those not accustomed to the technology then they could go to a physical location. You could get over 90% turn out.

The focus has to switch to those who put you in power. Building highways comes at a price to the man in the street. The large producers love it because they can move goods and services quickly. For the man in the street, his concern is the road in his community, car front end due to bad roads, cost of living/livable wage, housing, healthcare, income tax threshold, gas tax etc. In the midst of it all, parliamentarians gave themselves a 400% increase in salaries. So while the GDP may improve, is this in anyway being felt by the regular 9-5 worker/voter? The PM may want to give some attention to these issues and attend to the pressing need of the people. Failing to do so will result in the PNP coming back from the dead to snatch victory from the jaw of defeat.
PNP did way better than most expected....be reminded that the final counts aren't in as yet... this is what a democracy looks like, no one party should feel comfortable as that breeds complacency and nothing gets done on the behalf of the people.
