- In The Valley is a song adapted from the prayer "Valley of Vision" from the Puritans' prayer book of the same name. Sung by Shannon Harris.
The original prayer in The Valley of Vision goes:
Lord, high and holy, meek and lowly,
Thou hast brought me to the valley of vision,
where I live in the depths but see Thee in the heights;
hemmed in by mountains of sin I behold Thy glory.
Let me learn by paradox that the way down is the way up,
that to be low is to be high,
that the broken heart is the healed heart,
that the contrite spirit is the rejoicing spirit,
that the repenting soul is the victorious soul,
that to have nothing is to possess all,
that to bear the cross is to wear the crown,
that to give is to receive,
that the valley is the place of vision.
Lord, in the daytime stars can be seen from deepest wells,

let me find Thy light in my darkness,
Thy life in my death,
Thy joy in my sorrow,

I have lost my faith once due to so many difficulties in my life.. still God kept His promises to me.. and He fulfilled all His promises. .I would never imagined what He had prepared.. Still when we lose faith, He keeps faithful...
@@vsilte2 same the charismatic movment did not help. With so many chanting promises rather then telling the truth like job. Leaders like rc sproul, steven lawson really help my faith. And strong leader of the past who endured and not give up.

Focus more on loving God than hating sin. You cannot hate sin without being in love with God and seeking Christ's presence. Loving God must come first. Focus on the gospel at all times your entire day! It's hard to sin when you're always grateful for the gospel at all times.

I heard this song for the first time last Friday when my churchmates sang it as special number, and while I iwas walking I just found myself crying because of the lyrics. It is true, we can only found every peace and security in the arms of Jesus.❤
Yes yes yes. Our King and Lord expresses His tenderest affection and deepest assurances in the valley. There is no other way. I wish there was, but the lessons of learning to depend on His love and mercy, and to be transformed into His image are best experienced in this way.

God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
Humility is not a trait God bestows on preselected individuals. It is an expectation. Don't do it now, you will later because every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is the Lord. Humility is a no brainer when you find out how big and good He really is and how small and broken you really are.
I listen to this as much as I can I love it.
