CA has said the AI cannot use sea lanes with the current engine sadly.
    Love the migration

Sea lanes were such a glaring misstep

What about going north east and relocating the island province owned by a minor high elf faction (Tor Elasor I think)?

I was going to suggest something similar. Killing ku'gath is one of the victory conditions, so it would probably make sense to take his little island chain as well using the high elf islands as a launch point. Afterward, you can just push through Ghorst and take Cathay that way.
-edit- This also gives you things to fight along the way so you don't fall behind in skill levels.

I like the idea, very Tzeentchian. Personally I am somewhat *fond of* the Southern Wastes as they include many resource buildings.

I like it because of the mystery of chaos Antarctica with no further lore

I know a good strategy is to rush Teclis from turn 1 and kill him first. It worked out for me even though the first few battles were pretty difficult. I'm certainly going to try it this way seems less stressful and more natural

Good timing, I was also trying to get a new strat for Kairos as I really enjoy replaying his early game and optimizing it. He just has a lot of options thanks to the Tzeentch-fuckery he has access to.

Your level is going to be tanked doing all this travel, you will eventually go to war with some formidable empires in Cathay but 15 turns behind where you would be with Lokhir Fellheart, Snickers or Zhatan the Black.
Why invade Lustria? You can just focus on the Southlands and wait to invade Lustria until turn 80. Get a hero to scout for incoming armies for Lustria if you want to be paranoid.

Higher difficulties make this less viable. Taking the southern waste takes too long, and if you lose a coin flip, there will be lizards on the other side, forcing you to get the jump. It's not a fun starting location on higher difficulties.

Giving Lokhir a fifteen turn lead is a much easier problem to overcome than the entire Southern hemisphere descending on Kairos in the Southlands + having to deal with late-game Lustrian ambush wars
