We are proud to share an incredible story of hope and resilience! Our expert team at Ankura Hospital, Aundh, Pune successfully treated a two-year-old boy brought in after a near-drowning incident caused by Water Accumulation Near His Farm.
The emergency response, headed by Dr. Chinmay Joshi, Consultant Paediatric Intensivist and Cluster Medical Director for Maharashtra, along with Dr. Vishrut Joshi, Dr. Nikhil Jha, and a dedicated team, sprang into action and successfully treated a 2-year-old child who had drowned while playing outside home. The child arrived unconscious, with weak heart activity and low blood pressure.
Dr. Chinmay Joshi recalls, “The child was transferred from Alandi on bag and tube ventilation to our Emergency Room. Upon arrival, he was non-responsive, pale, gasping for air, and had a very slow heart rate. A code blue was activated, bringing together our entire team, including doctors, nurses, anaesthetists, housekeeping, admin, and security.”
With no palpable pulses and critically low blood pressure, the boy was in a comatose state. The Ankura Hospital protocol was followed meticulously, leading to aggressive resuscitation efforts. More than 30 individuals, including full-time consultant intensivists, trained ICU and ER nurses, and trainee doctors, were involved in saving this child's life.
After four intense hours of relentless efforts, our team successfully stabilized him and restarted his heart. This miraculous recovery is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team.
