This opened my eyes. Thank you. I a stickler for being on time and I'd always thought it disrespectful when others are late. I learnt a long time ago that we need to look within. Thanks for the reminder. How quickly we forget at times.

Very sound and intuitive advice for connecting with others. I guess what you are saying is that empathy and also having ground breaking rules sets a code for others to follow. Looking beyond what is on the surface is premount to what is actually going on in someone's life. And human emotion is often influenced by external factors. I agree Peter. Thanks again Deborah b

I'm glad you found the advice insightful, Deborah. Yes, indeed. Connection with others is a multidimensional process. Ground rules provide a framework for respectful interactions while empathy enables a deeper understanding of each other's perspectives.
Additionally, recognizing that an individual's emotions can be influenced by their circumstances allows us to exercise patience and compassion. Each person we encounter is carrying their own unique set of challenges, and understanding this can help us to navigate interactions more effectively.
Remember, every conversation we have is an opportunity to learn more about another person's experiences and viewpoints, which can ultimately enrich our own perspective on life. It's always my pleasure to share thoughts and advice on these important topics.

Thank you for your interest Jyoti. The primary theme of this TED Talk centers around the philosophy of choosing one's reaction to the various circumstances life presents us. Despite not having control over every event, we possess the power to respond in a way that aligns with our personal growth and happiness. You emphasize the importance of choosing love over fear and maintaining a positive and resilient mindset, even during challenging times. This echoes the concept of being cheerful in the face of adversity, embodying resilience, and practising emotional intelligence. This talk encourages you to embrace these principles as a means to cultivate a richer, more fulfilling life experience.

If life would be a sensational virtual computer game, Peter would be something like a high level NPC, or a Hacker, or an Admin. I am trying to be suspicious, sceptical, chasing inconsistencies in his reasoning, but what he tells, is so deeply flawless (so far) and applicable.
Now, a sentence, which was created by an AI, in order to express my thoughts the most exact way:
I hope that he reaches out to a diverse and extensive audience of individuals who are genuinely interested and eager to be a part of it.

In amongst Peter's work there is a whole section on exactly what you say would be 'sensational'! I invite you (if haven't already done so) to check out Tom Campbell, a physicist, consciousness researcher, author of the My Big TOE trilogy and international lecturer, who describes the nature of our larger reality is in effect our existence is very much on par with being a virtually reality simulation.

Hi Miroslav, Thank you for the kind words and the metaphor. I think it's quite fitting. In the grand game of life, we're all players, each with unique roles and perspectives. It's completely natural and healthy to be skeptical but at the same time, open-minded. In fact, I encourage it. Question everything, but also be open to answers that might surprise you or challenge your current beliefs. I understand that my views may not resonate with everyone, and that's perfectly okay. It's in the diversity of our perspectives that we find the richness of human experience. Your hope that these insights reach a diverse and extensive audience is one I share wholeheartedly. The goal is not to create a uniform way of thinking but to inspire people to question, to explore, and to grow in their own unique ways. Remember, we're all in this game together, each contributing to the grand adventure that is life.

Forgive me Peter, having listened to you many times before and hearing you discuss this topic, something's bugging me. At the end clip you summarise the effects when you are prepared to accept the parts of yourself you're disowning ' then you come from a place of understanding and not compasion' What's bugging me, is my perceived memory of that phrase is 'you come from a place of understanding and compassion and not judgement'
I'd be grateful if you could clarify that point.

I truly appreciate your thoughtful engagement with my content and for reaching out with your question. It shows your willingness to understand deeply, which I admire.
To clarify, it indeed sounds like there's been a slight miscommunication or misunderstanding. When I discuss embracing the parts of ourselves we often disown, my intended message is that doing so allows us to approach situations with understanding and compassion rather than judgment.
Your memory serves you correctly. By accepting all facets of ourselves, we are better equipped to navigate our interactions from a place of understanding and compassion. This acceptance allows us to see others-and ourselves-more clearly, fostering empathy rather than falling into the trap of judgment.
I hope this clears up any confusion, and I sincerely appreciate your keen interest and inquiring mind.
