FLOWER BED CLEAN UP! Adding Mulch and Flower bed Makeover + Cleaning the Deck

Today we are going outside and working in my flower beds and on my deck. This is part 1. I hope to add some flowers and finish setting up my deck in part 2! But today I'm adding mulch to the flower beds, trimming some bushes, cleaning our picnic table, and putting up the deck skirting.

I hate weed fabric. The weeds eventually just grow into it and it makes them harder to get out. I put down cardboard or layers of newspaper, then mulch. It keeps the weeds down for a year and then it becomes part of the soil.
