- Atlanta United opened the 2023 season on an electric note -- and with three points, thanks to an absolute stunning last-gasp brace from World Cup champion Thiago Almada on Saturday night. With Ludacris in the building to hit the Golden Spike, in front a full-venue crowd on hand at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the hosts rallied to beat the San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 in what was an unbelievably memorable way to kick off the club's seventh MLS season.

ATL - the luckiest team in the MLS. San Jose was on that a$$ a good portion of the game and could have won 4-2 or 5-2. It doesn't always work out that way.

This game was amazing and it was an electrifying game! The last shot came down to the final seconds and being in person with that energy was everything! Perfect way to open the season at home 🎉

I just hope we're good enough to justify keeping him through the summer window (I think if we're playing well he could be okay with waiting until the winter transfer window to go to Europe but if this does wind up being the rebuilding year I think it's going to be (I want to be wrong lol), I imagine he'll want to make that move ASAP).
Thankfully we're in a better position with him contract wise than we were with Bello and should be able to get high value for him when we do have to make the move (I'll never understand why we only gave Bello a 2 year contract).
Time to practice some shooting and creative passes this week if we want to improve. Vamos juntos!

Basta de Rossetto por favor. Es demasiado lento con y sin la pelota. La dupla en el medio tiene que ser Sosa e Ibarra, y Almada mas adelantado jugando de enganche. Wiley sigue siendo una promesa interesante, y Araujo no juega mal, pero los dos tienen que mejorar en la definicion de las jugadas. Eso si, hace falta un 9 URGENTE. Esperemos que el griego Giorgos se pueda adaptar y contribuir lo mas pronto posible, si no sera muy dificil marcar goles con este esquema de Pineda.
