- Aer Lingus has retired the last of it's Boeing 757s in March as the flag-carrier transitions to Airbus A321neo's as like for like replacements.
Since taking delivery of their first re-engined Airbus A321neo in August 2019 they made immediate use of their extra range and lower fuel burn by deploying them on their transatlantic routes from Dublin Airport by deploying them immediately upon delivery to Windsor Locks, New York EWR, Philadelphia, Boston along with routes from Shannon.
The aircraft has proven a true success in a relatively short time since entry into service, with the airline happy to offload the older Boeing 757s as more of the new A321neo's are delivered to Aer Lingus.
We will all definitely miss the sound of the Pratt and Whitney PW2040 engines spooling up as their Boeing 757s roll off runway 28 or 10.
Still, it is another chapter in Aer Lingus's ever-changing history.
[All Aer Lingus Boeing 757s were operated by ASL Airlines Ireland]

So sad to see the entire thing go! The 757’s have served the Aer Lingus Fleet very well for the past years. Nice video and hope you have enjoyed your time in Dublin!
I may as well recommend spotting interesting aircraft arrivals in Shannon from time to time. From Private Jets to 747 Freighters and Antonov 124
It is very sad Kuba. I definitely need to go spotting at Shannon at some point. Definitely sad to see the last of the 757s go.
Jonathan Winton AerLingus is not retiring their 757s, AerLingus Still has 757s
Shannon is my Irish home Airport :)
@@sebastianfloyd372 no you are wrong, they have been replaced for a321 neo lrs.
@@dobrien757 Airbus should make A321XERs, the Extra extended range A321NEOs
Sad to see them go.. I loved the Aer Lingus livery on the 757! Luckily I had the chance to film their 757s in DUB. Great compilation, mate! Well done! :)
It is very sad mate. Pleased you managed to see them as well mate. Thanks for watching :D
Sad to see the Shamrock 757s gone, really loved the RB211 from EI-CJX, caught here a few weeks before retirement, will never forget the sound she made.
Certainly is sad to see them go. THe sound was so uniqu and will be missed by everyone
Very sad to see the end of this gorgeous aircraft, always my favourite since day one, the roar of those engines, and it was simply a beautiful machine to look at. Sad days indeed.
The Aer Lingus 757s are a big miss.
Awesome video mate... wow I didn’t know they were already ready retiring... keep up the good work 👍🏻😃
Cheers mate. Alot of people seem to have not realised it either. Thanks for watching :)
Jonathan Winton AerLingus is not retiring their 757s, they still have them in their fleet
Very sad to see their 757s go. Flew them a lot from Shannon. 757s are true workhorses, luckily boeing is thinking of making a new, re-engined 757, which would definitely be wonderful. I have yet to fly on the new A321neo LRs.
It is very sad to see Aer Lingus no longer using the 757s. It would be an ideal replacement, but the A321neo seems to be doing well. Would love to fly on one soon.
Really hope that these incredible birds are able to live on....unlikely but hopefully 😊 Great footage
Sadly seeing how many aircraft younger than this one are being retired right now I dont see them flying again sadly. Thanks so much for watching 😊✈
Real shame these have been retired, liked!
It is indeed mate. Thanks for watching.
Lovely video. what a looker they still are.Sad to see them go.That whine.♥️♥️♥️
They certainly were great to see. Cannot beat the sound of the RB211s.
Look at that climbout at 4.30.They had such awesome raw power.
Great shot
Cheers Dominica
So sad that was my favorite plane
It is very sad indeed.
@@JonathanWinton123 how did you know it was being retired. I noticed that it flew from Dublin to Shannon so I knew something was up and there was no official statement from Aer lingus or ASL so I wasn't sure. The only real hint was the airline fleet lists website, your video and the fact that I was aware from doing work experience with ground maintance that it was due to go to the desert soon
Oscar Lubliner fedex and ups keeps me happy. I see them everyday in Memphis (fedex super hub)
@@tristenparker6785 I contacted ASL airlines and all 4 of it's ex Aer Lingus 757s are going to be converted into freighters
Oscar Lubliner that’s cool. Cargo airliners are our last hope of seeing the last generation of aircraft continuing to fly
They should convert their 757s to freighters
I think most of them have been scrapped.
@@JonathanWinton123 I Shall scrap their scrappers
The livery suited the 757's well
It certainly did suit them well
It's not retiring. Its returning to ASL. The 757s were only leased to Aer lingus
I think you will find they have been retired from serving with Aer Lingus mate. And all are being flown into storage in the USA.
If that isnt retired then i dont know what is?
Best B757 Colour Scheme Ever
It certainly is a great one.
Sad ..., i flew on EI-LBR on 20/09/2008 when it belonged to Finnair for my father's 50th birthday, Palma de Mallorca, Spain to Oulu, Finland
It is a great shame they have been withdrawn. You were very lucky to get to fly on LBR.
@@JonathanWinton123 My only flight so far on a 757, but i loved it.
Das ist super start
It is. Thanks for watching.
You guys its not Aer Lingus whos doing it its ASL
Thanks for watching
