I was in the crowd watching this and I remember the smell in the old barn. Seemed like no ventilation and it looks like a bar room! My dad and I had a great time and it was interesting to see those tires on bear foot. I was 7 and grew up watching Bigfoot and Beast run at the Lincoln county fair so I was disappointed to see old Jim lose of course but I still left with a smile. :)

@@jasonprice9341 i can’t remember that far back which night I was there but I remember this show either way. I was 7. I want to go find the program from it as they had Joe Camel driving a monster truck on the front cover.

It's interesting that the Arfons team ran lockers in their rear differentials so that they couldn't brake steer. It's wild that they were so successful (at least Art was). I was always curious to a comment about the T55s not being successful outdoor on the longer tracks. I always assumed it was a power to weight ratio result, but this is much more telling. It's pretty cool that we can still learn factual aspects from videos over 30 years old. Love these golden years!

This is the same Big Foot truck that was used in the movie Road House.

Jason E yes it is but about a year after the shoot. By this time it was faster and better handling than at roadhouse

Wow! Roughly the same thing happened to Art in '88 here. But just like then he proved his resilience and won. Merry Christmas, by the way!

I love those old school funny cars but unfortunately I can't stand these announcers, they sound so lazy.

Can't stand seeing him hang out the window like that. Kramer always drove that way. So stupid

Justthatguy420 That’s the only way to see out the truck. The monster trucks now a days have clear lexan in the floorboards to see out of.

Indeed. In traight line is not as needed but with turns and for lining up correctly it works great

That's how they used to drive em back in the day. Just watch alot of the old shows. I know they got hit alot driving like that. Just appreciate that they did that so you could see the trucks run ok. They didnt have to you know.

Jim was Best driver in the history of the sport. He dominated in the early days. You on the other hand, wouldn't be qualified to even hold his helmet.
