    Brother I appreciate the knowledge. You know we go out and get these somewhat expensive pools and throw it up quick as possible trying to get our money's worth and don't take the time think about what to avoid until it's too late. Brother you may have just saved me and my family from a complete tragedy and I thank you for that. And to think it all started over me look to build a pool deck for cheap 😂 God Bless You!!!!

    You can also add a GFCI breaker to the breaker box that the outside outlet runs on. It's even better than the GFCI receptacle because a GFCI breaker will protect the entire circuit and not just the outlet.

      Thanks for all the views, Mr. Walker. That is a Polaris65 Vacuum. I don't know why it's called a vacuum because it does not suck/vacuum. It works off of the return water. (I have a video on assembling it) It's more like a swiper / catcher. It works really well but I only got 2 seasons out of it before it started winding up in a circle. Once it starts doing that the internal parts have to be replaced and it's just about as cheap to buy a whole new one. But at the same time, we really like it.

      If you plugging into a gfci outlet you don't need a gfci extension cord. Just make sure to get an extension cord that sized correct for the length your running from the outlet.

    When you say distance electricity has to travel, are you referring to cord length or actual distance between pump and outlet? We have the outdoor safety outlet but our pump cord is about 2-3yards too short. So we use a very long outdoor specialty extension cord. I don't know the gage.

    • @papawsplace
      @papawsplace  3 года назад +1

      The Cord length. Electricity is carried through the wires in the cord and the longer the cord the bigger gauge it needs to be. Example: a 10 foot 14 gauge cord may carry the proper amount of electricity to where a 100 foot 14 gauge will drop in voltage / amount of electricity.

    So we were very fortunate to have somebody give us $1000 pool pump and we don’t have a very big above ground pool but it still needs a pump and the pump that came with it was crap so we were given this amazing pump but the cord that it came with almost looks like a plug that you plug a dryer into now any advice on how we’re supposed to make this work?

    • @papawsplace
      @papawsplace  2 года назад

      First read the tag on the pump to see if it's 110V or 220V Pump. If it's 110V you can go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a female plug/end that fits that male plug and install it in your electrical outlet box or put the end on an ext. cord. BUT if it's 220v pump you will need a 220V wired outlet to plug it in which is a whole different ball game.

Since I got pool clean and all the levels /testing correct all I've had to do is I keep 3 chlorine tablets in the floater and when they melt down to about one tablet I add 2 more and my pool has been staying clean and testing good. Hello again! I’m hoping you can answer my questions as I keep hitting a dead end. I have purchased a tankless water heater and I need to find a pool pump that is ideal for an 8 x 2 stock tank above ground pool. Do you have any recommendations? The tankless water heater inlet/outlet are attached to hoses so I have the fittings and I’m ready to go! The only thing missing is a pool pump. The tank holds 700 gallons. Any help with choosing an adequate pump is greatly appreciated!! 🙏🏼 Thank you!

    • @papawsplace
      @papawsplace  3 года назад +1

      It sounds like your making a DIY Hot Tub. If so I would think any small pump would work ok as long as it's rated for over a 700 gallon pool. The only thing, I would read the manual on the tankless water heater to see what water pressure it requires to operate. I also would put the water heater between the pump and the stock tank so the hot water would not be going through my pump first. Again depending on what you want to spend on the pump I would think any little pump would do the trick but I would get one that's rated for a 1500 gallon pool or above myself.
