About 8 times he lucked his way through stage 1, only to get smashed by Ludwig, the Holy Blade.
Its why Champion Gundyr whooped his ass so hard. There's no 'strat' to cheese the fight. Champion Gundyr is a test of one thing and one thing only: Your grasp of the game's basic mechanics. Chat can't tell you the gimmick to the fight when there isn't one, and its hard to get lucky when you're pressured to very consistently perform to a high standard throughout the entire fight.
his ff15lp was better. he did nothing but bitch, moan, devilize and shit on the game through every second of the way then praised it after he beat the game.
SasukeUzumaki He says that shit in the heat of the moment. If he didn't like these game to some extent, he wouldn't bother with replaying them or playing through all of the DLCs.
Jordy Morty Phil's own enjoyment of a game is also a factor. He has rage quit AAA games before. That's not to say money and twitch subs aren't important, but I'm sure DSP would rather replay any Souls game over Shadow of War or Lightning Returns despite the Souls series being harder than both of these games. Keep in mind that he rage quit both of these games when they were at peak popularity whereas he replayed Dark Souls 1 six years after its launch. I kinda understand Phil's feelings when it comes to the Souls series. I've had more deaths in my Nioh playthrough than Phil did with his, yet I consider that game to be the most fun game of 2017 even though I have raged at it a couple of times. Hell, I'm currently in the process of doing my second playthrough. Just because someone gets mad at a game during a frustrating moment doesn't mean that they hate the game, and games like the Souls series and Nioh are meant to be frustrating at times. People say shit in the heat of the moment. It's like getting in an argument with your significant other or a parent and one of you say something that's out of line. Now that doesn't mean you literally hate the person does it? You guys take Phil's rage way too literally.
Naruxos07 I mean he does it every ten seconds. "WTF DOOD, THE RESPONSE TIME IS DELAYED WTF" wash, rinse, repeat. Even when he wins, he complains. Then all of a sudden "I enjoyed every minute, it was a great game".
hype I've never watched him, but I imagine he's talking about the way it locks you into your actions with no cancel available. it's hard to get used to when you first start. at least it was for me four years ago. but now I like it better. it's more real. in real life you're not going to be able to sheathe your weapon from a swing from a giant hammer and roll instantly.
"It's hard to get used to when you first start," but Phillip here gets no pass on that because he's played through every single game and still pisses and complains about that. If he actually bothered to learn anything instead of bumbling through it, he would know how to use the queued command system to his advantage.
I'm not sure of DS3 has it, but some of the Souls games do have "Input Queuing". If you put in several commands one after the other, the game will execute them in that order. Not an excuse for his lack of skill, but it would explain why he's so convinced there's a delay
I've been playing ds3 for the frist time recently on xbone and I can say without a doubt that in a vast majority of places he says there's this lag there is none the only place I experienced any sort of noticeable frame drop was in the pontiff sulyvahn boss fight and even then it was only for a brief couple of seconds
Y'know, no matter how much DSP I watch, I really can't ever get over just how delusional he is about his skill level and the games he plays. Like, really, it's one thing if he's doing this intentionally, but based on his actions in the past and his history, I think he really is just this bad at video games, Phil seems like the kind of guy who blames the person who he rear ends as the one at fault in a car wreck when he couldn't break in time.

joe broye One big thing newbs have a problem with is spamming buttons and not expecting the inputs to go through. E.g. Hitting the roll button 3 times when you want to roll once will get you fucked.
yeah, the button queuing in ds was always an awesome mechanic when you understand it. Like you can hit the roll tap estus, hit the roll again in drink animation and you still get away, it's definitely a learning curve, but phil has no excuse. he's played every souls game. though he still never beat DS 1 legit. such a pansy.

@@WeaponXYZ Yeah, I beat the DLC's at around about level 80 using a longsword and pyromancy, they worked really well. Guard break skill with the long sword coupled with range of pyromancy made them way too easy.

It's like Phil expects to be able to roll and attack at the exact same time. Every time he complains about dodging he either stood there and did nothing or he was to busy mashing R1 that his character attacks before he can roll. I can't believe this guy actually was able to beat any of the soulborne games. he's played DS1, DS2, BB, even DeS and hasn't learned a single thing.
Ancient comment but he never beat those games legit. Like, IRRC he got phantoms and summoned his chat to do the work in DS1. He also got the to drop OP weapons for him. In DS2 he was over leveled and spammed a broken spell they had to nerf and was terrible when he had to face enemies that were resistant to lightning. in bloodborne he abused a glitch to get echos and was like level 90 by the time you were in the third area of the game ( and still died to BSB lmao) and DeS was the same thing, abused a dupe glitch and was massively over leveled ( but still never leveled up his weapon lmao)
Rusty Shackleford doesn't matter much in pve. why not spam? PvP is another matter. but even then if you get killed by someone who only knows how to spam, then you probably deserve it. it shows a lack of skill in PvP. not so much in pve. although this guy has that too, lol.

I want to bring up what Phil said after the fight... "You see? I'm calm, I'm collected, I'm focused....and the dodges came out...the dodges worked and I won. Amazing!" Its is extremely hard to tell if hes actually admitting that the only way to play this game is to be patient and calm....OR he is using some sort of an excuse the claim that Ooohhh all of a sudden the rolls worked. Because the words say, "I get it now, I realize what I was doing wrong"....but the tone comes out as, "See? Look at this inconsistent bullshit! Fuck you From Software, my dodges should have been working even when I was getting pissed. The game shouldnt know how mad I get and should just work when I want it to!"
"I never thought you could hit the bridge and it would fall!" You would thing he would remember a literally copy-paste mechanic from the base game. Then again, this is Phil
1:00:50 Wait, did he FINALLY realize, that going at it calm and collected and LEARNING the game gets you through boss fights better then trying to cheese or brute force everything? *30 min. later* welp, nevermind
I love how Phil talks about everything being inconsistent without demonstrating it once. Not once did he hold up the controller and dodge for 2 - 3 minutes to show chat that sometimes the rolls just "won't come out" because deep down this waste of life knows that he is baselessly blaming the game for his own shortcomings.
The cowardice when he finally hit the Ringed City is insufferable. He runs from every single enemy… into the arms of another enemy or a dead-end. Repeat for the entirety of the rest of the playthrough.
22:44 Idk, didn't they pull the EXACT same trick in the Catacombs, and there there was an in game message telling you the bridge would collapse. Ah, how can I expect Phil to actually remember his experiences in this game for more than a week?
2:51:08 dsp has this huge area to fight this boss. Yet he tries to catch him on a destroyed peace of the tower. Can someone please explain to me why he thinks this is a good idea?
I know your comment is a year old, but it's because he's always looking for cheese mechanics and ways to cheat the AI. I'm sure he read somewhere that he could cheese the boss from that spot.
I've been playing the Ariandel DLC for the first time lately. I'm not that familiar with Dark Souls, I'm way more into Bloodborne. So all the characters I built in DS3 are kinda light and fast, to make it play similar to Bloodborne. But with this character I'm using in the DLC now, it's not working that well. I'm level 73 at the Gravetender boss and can't even beat the dude. Every hit I take, takes off about half health. And I'm using a magic rapier, which doesn't do a lot of damage at all. I should definately make a pure strength character at some point, just tank everything. The person who animated the wolf, though, should get a raise. The wolf charging and jumping around looks super awesome!
@@FuzzyPickles923 Yeah, Sif was much more fun to fight. I got stuck at Artorius, though :) I have to get back to DS1 at some point and finish that game!

I love that he lists a really really good trait about dark souls (that the bosses are sorta unpredictable, and generally have a big movepool so that you're not sitting there dodging the same attacks easily the whole time) and says it's a reason he hates it. Like why play the game if not for the good parts of the game? I know why he would rather it be shittier, and it's because it's easy. But man, what a toddler.

@Synth Ovine Also amounts in a slightly more advanced mechanic, which trivialises the boss for those who know it.
@Synth Ovine or you can just roll and hit. Although gundyr is a bitch and has fast attacks but is doable.
It's amazing how fast Phil goes from saying any game is "a piece of shit" to being a huge fan of that game that he couldn't steamroll through easily.
his ff15lp was better. he did nothing but bitch, moan, devilize and shit on the game through every second of the way then praised it after he beat the game.
SasukeUzumaki He says that shit in the heat of the moment. If he didn't like these game to some extent, he wouldn't bother with replaying them or playing through all of the DLCs.
Naruxos07 Money, viewers and Twitch subs would have a word with you on that
Jordy Morty Phil's own enjoyment of a game is also a factor.
He always complains about this mysterious "input delay" that no one else experiences but him.
hype I've never watched him, but I imagine he's talking about the way it locks you into your actions with no cancel available. it's hard to get used to when you first start. at least it was for me four years ago. but now I like it better. it's more real. in real life you're not going to be able to sheathe your weapon from a swing from a giant hammer and roll instantly.
"It's hard to get used to when you first start," but Phillip here gets no pass on that because he's played through every single game and still pisses and complains about that. If he actually bothered to learn anything instead of bumbling through it, he would know how to use the queued command system to his advantage.
There is a bit of a delay, but it’s not as terrible as DS2.
Outsyder........4 hours of dsp playing Dark Souls DLC you spoil us
Thanks dude
My pleasure, no worries at all.
PhantomS He's actually gotten worse over time, back in 2005 he still had an inflated ego but he was actually decent at games....though he played like 5 times as much
Is he putting on a show or is he for real?
@@MadGamer_666 Based on his tantrums he's had when people have told him when he's wrong and such and in general when playing some games. I doubt hes pretending.
@@MadGamer_666 he sometimes plays it up but he genuinely sucks. he especially fakes shit in the souls games but they also show the most genuine frustration, like when he just gives up on a fight because he got hit on one poorly timed roll
@@MadGamer_666 watch some of the TIHYDP's for racing games. He is terrible. Like, he will ram right into a fucking guard rail, drive into it for 5 seconds then complain it "came out of nowhere, dood!". He is terrible at games and likes to make up terms for how bad he is at them. he loves the term "rubberbanding"in racing games, claiming he was the better driver but the game sped up others so he would lose. He is just a giant baby.
52:03 *Puts up shield while his back Is to the boss
"I COULDNT BLAAAAHHHCK"
"HA HA HA HA."
Phil gets defensive as fuck when people say he grinds. It doesn't matter Phil will still get his shit pushed in no matter how high his vigor or level is.
'DODGE'. he says, a full second after friede grabs him. dude, stop complaining just because you're slow. Love how he calls DS 'finicky'. The souls series is everything but finicky. Stop refusing to learn and you might succeed.
Yeah I've got 100% in all three games, the controls work perfectly fine. I've never had it drop my input or any of the other weird stuff he complains about.
Watching him fail like that reminds me of DS2's ruin sentinels. he got raped so hard!
Mainly because he was still using the worthless wooden shield, like he does for most of the game.
joe broye One big thing newbs have a problem with is spamming buttons and not expecting the inputs to go through.
He never beat Dark 2 legit either, he spammed a broken spell through the whole thing while chat held his hand. He also didn't finish one of the DLCs apparently. And I guess skipped Darklurker.
2:53:05
you WERE blocking, Phil. However, you had your BACK to a massive, sword wielding Santa Claus.
It’s crazy how speed runners and challenge players can dodge on time and get through whole playthroughs no hit sl1 with broken mechanics like this
Some guy literally beat Midir sl1 while completely naked, with his bare fists, without rolling or partying, with only the help of some f***ing rings. Yeah I’m gonna say it ain’t the mechanics failing here. And for the record I personally SUCKED during this DLC it sure as shit’s a tough one, but I didn’t blame the fucking game for my sucking!

Tyler Crum Nice account pic.
Tyler Crum as long as you don't blame the developers for your mistakes you will always be better than him
Tyler Crum sadly no i cant beat twin princes
Tyler Crum Danganronpa is goooooood.
50:09 apparently phils console is haunted since he didn't touch the controller.
The best part is that despite the fit he threw, the Estus was 100% valuable. It didn't heal him to full, which means none of its health was wasted. He literally had a meltdown over a safe, justified heal.
holy shit Phil lucked out with that second Spear, no offence to them but they weren't that great. Also lmao "that's a good one because it's unique!" Phil we all know if you'd had a string of skilled players, you'd have rage quit like a bitch. Flashbacks to the Old Monk.
Alcohol poisoning drinking game:
Take a shot for every 10 panic rolls.
That Demon fight was so painful to watch. All he does is run.
About the demon fight, his reaction to the demon prince seemed genuine. This is the first time I've seen him enjoy a game he's playing.
Crazy considering it’s the only other boss fight in the game besides Vordt that you can actually roll under!
I know I mean I understand kiting but he is legit like “when they stop glowing then I attack” honestly he should have summoned Gael to help him or Lepp
Legit never saw the big fire orb attack from Demon Prince till now because I only stayed in melee range and never as far away as Phil for that long.
*Plays through DLCs with boring sword and shield combo for 50 parts straight*
*Finds a new bad ass weapon in said DLCs*
*Fumbles in inventory for 5 minutes trying to find the new weapon*
*Reads item description*
DSP: Huh... Okay *MAY try out new bad ass weapon for about 2 seconds*
*Proceeds to use boring sword and shield combo for the rest of the play through*
Quality Khantent outta 10
a you can't be upset with him for using a sword and shield, just about anything can be cool if you use it right. If anything, it'd be worse if he used the most badass weapons he had since they're often overpowered and would make the game too easy.
One handed longswords are pretty overpowered compared to boss soul weapons, the simple fact that R1 spam carries him through all of Dark Souls 3
@@WeaponXYZ Yeah, I beat the DLC's at around about level 80 using a longsword and pyromancy, they worked really well. Guard break skill with the long sword coupled with range of pyromancy made them way too easy.
@@tronmerncutsman DS2s lighting spear is a good example of it being boring.
What makes this boring is the fact that all he does is press R1. No heavy attacks. Didn't even use the buff special.
I'd love to see Phil put a camera on his controller when he plays. Then we can really see if he rolled in time or fucked up (Which of course he fucked up)
He doesn't want you to see the jizz stains.
He doesn't seem to grasp input queuing which after fives games is kind of sad.
EWWWWW!
It's the same reason why he didn't watch the kill cams from COD games or why he doesn't show his inputs on fighting games cause he knows he is wrong
“Who woulda thought you could cut the bridge down?!” Idk maybe anyone who played ds3 and got to Wolnir. YOURSELF INCLUDED
hmm, he thinks the shield damage is physical resistance?
buttercrap he thinks a lot of things tbh
And all of them are wrong.
13:27 Let us have a moment of silent to appreciate the badassery of the Millwood Black Knight Viking Bro
the ultimate PIG SLAYER of this desperate dark times
It's like Phil expects to be able to roll and attack at the exact same time. Every time he complains about dodging he either stood there and did nothing or he was to busy mashing R1 that his character attacks before he can roll. I can't believe this guy actually was able to beat any of the soulborne games. he's played DS1, DS2, BB, even DeS and hasn't learned a single thing.
He over-leveled like crazy that's why!
And, as seen with his first attempt Ludwig, he is wholly incapable of playing any Soulsborne on any difficulty higher than NG.
You know how he beat the games? The stream chat walked him through all of it.
Wait, how do you even cheese dark souls
R1 R1 R1 R1 R1 R1 R1

Rusty Shackleford doesn't matter much in pve. why not spam? PvP is another matter. but even then if you get killed by someone who only knows how to spam, then you probably deserve it. it shows a lack of skill in PvP. not so much in pve. although this guy has that too, lol.

And also progressively worse grammar.
Time goes forward.
Nothing like a cup of joe and some DSP to begin a cozy evening
to start a weekend
I had to stop after the Sister Friede fight cause I havent played The Ringed City yet and I'm not gonna let DSP of all fucking people spoil it for me.
ThatGiambalvoGuy Bugged Dodge Mechanics dood, nothing he could do to save his kwality khantent
Right afterward he continued to talk about how his controller finally worked and that it's easy when there's no "input delay"
So, no, he didn't learn shit, or at least he didn't admit it.
Imagine raiding with Phil in an mmo. _"I DIDN'T STAND IN THE FIRE! LAG! WHAT THE FUCK HEALER! NOT MY FAULT! I MOVED!"_

The demon princes bossfight was so cringe. Didn't the first attempt last like 15-20 minutes? LOL
PATRIOTxx3 yeah he ran away for almost all of it
Ok you have got to be the most garbage pvper to lose to phil.... lol even after resorting to the follower saber.
I remember he resorted to the dark sword too in his base game playthrough
Welcome back to Phil complaining about the final boss in the entire Dark Souls series being hard
The sound at 04:38 reminds me of another sound Phil made once. :3
*OH NEPTUNE...*
"I never thought you could hit the bridge and it would fall!"
You would thing he would remember a literally copy-paste mechanic from the base game.
Then again, this is Phil
He just called a sheath a hilt...
Already a good start
My favourite thing he says in these games that I quote all the time is the “just kill me” when he fucks up real bad to a boss
These videos always make me feel better about my own performance in dark souls lol
4 hours? I'm ready!
It always amuses me when he bangs on electronics like a caveman trying to get them to work.
Phil was emotionally stunted at around age 12 or so
brain development stopped around there too
1:00:50 Wait, did he FINALLY realize, that going at it calm and collected and LEARNING the game gets you through boss fights better then trying to cheese or brute force everything? *30 min. later* welp, nevermind
Did he just call a scabbard a hilt?
yes, yes he did
I love how Phil talks about everything being inconsistent without demonstrating it once.
He's got the sunlight straight sword, and a shield that lets him use the weapon art, but he never does.
Oh my God…
22:44 Idk, didn't they pull the EXACT same trick in the Catacombs, and there there was an in game message telling you the bridge would collapse. Ah, how can I expect Phil to actually remember his experiences in this game for more than a week?
Güys keep in mind that he played the dlc when his weapon was insanely powerfull(because of a patch).
Emre Kara he did it before it got super buffed
Ök
You know it's going to be good when in the first 30 seconds DSP mistakes a sheath for a hilt.
Yeah I like that boss fight but there is a much better wolf boss fight in Ds1 Sif Imo
@@FuzzyPickles923 Yeah, Sif was much more fun to fight. I got stuck at Artorius, though :)
I have to get back to DS1 at some point and finish that game!
@@CeetjeBeetje I think everyone has had an ass beating by Artorias once before😂
stamina - how does it work?
Someone needs to make a boss. That's litterally just a flying camera that erratically attacks by locking onto the player. And have it named"The DarkSyder"
His parry attempts always crack me up
“Oh! I found my souls, there they are”
*Souls Retrieved*
“Oh, I have zero anyway. Fuck.”
4 hours? ... challenge fuckin accepted.
That Demon boss fight was something else. Forget the part where he kept running, focus on his dumbass strategy of going after the slow one. That just makes it easier for you to get trampled by the fiery one.
What if: TIHYDP was Phil making highlight videos and getting "detractors" to watch his cahntent.
Along with faking all the pathetic excuses? This explains the limited ragequits. If he never blocked the comments, I would believe this honestly.
"controls don't kahm out on ehhxbahhx wunnn!"
Well, they do. You just have a 62iq
Kiting the Greatwolf around the pillars makes the fight total easy mode and he still makes it look like a chore.
Wow, he used the same sword through the whole game. I remember changing my weapon all the time just to suit the enemy i am facing.
Twin demon : run around, look at the boss pattern. It wasn't that hard to figure out an exploit. My oh my
Sweet dude! Love your TIHYDP videos.

I fucking love how he still refuses to learn that there are two types of pitfalls in Dark Souls:
One where you will survive but take fall damage (Spook helps here) and one where you will always die regardless due to how high of a fall it is (Spook won’t help).
I don't think that plummeting to his death scream will ever get old.
This could've benefited from more edited in uploader commentary, and comments from the videos. Still though, the slowed down parts were pretty hilarious.
