The opening for the first scripted Nickelodeon show Hey Dude, in HQ. Why isn't this ranch still being kept in good shape by the owners at Tanque Verde Ranch in Arizona?
1983 baby here. True 90s kid. All of elementary and middle school in the 90s. Kindergarten 89/90 through eighth grade 97/98. I never claim to be an 80s kid. I've always claimed to be an 80s baby and a 90s kid. And if I say that when born in '83, I don't get why people born in 1998 claim to be 90s kids. You probably weren't even potty trained in the 90s.

My mother (RIP) was an extra on a few of the episodes, including two speaking parts. For those who know the show well, one of the parts was of her slamming a caricature (painted by Danny) of her over her husband's head while saying "Frame This!". She passed away about 10 years ago, but she would have been happy to see there were a ton of fans of this show! I even got a chance to visit the cast when I was a kid...I brought a dozen roses for both "Brad" and "Melody" because I had huge crushes on them (I was 8).

Not to mention but now the whole entire Bar None set is left abandoned in a desert in Arizona, sad really it wasn't preserved better by Nickelodeon for tourists.

Almost 30 years later and I still remember this theme song word for word! This, Pete&Pete and Salute Your Shorts were some of Nickelodeon’s best shows ever! Salute Your Shorts is an especially fond memory, since the worst thing that ever happened on set of that of that show was the kids got slight sunburns from being outside all day and one of the girls complained about whipped cream in her hair during the pie fight episode!😂😂 They all said it was a blast and they all had fun becoming friends and enjoyed every minute of filming
I know and remember as the credits were closing out you would see a spooky Sunset scene with the animated production logo with the wolf howling. 😂😅😊 great times.
Funny story if you have a minute. Christine Taylor admitted during a "Hey Dude" Q & A panel that Paris Hilton as a young girl approached her once to talk about how much she loved "Hey Dude". Probably the only endearing story we have ever heard about Paris.
As a young boy growing up and watching this show even after it ended in 1991, I always liked David Brisbin's character (Mr. Ernst) the most. Later on, I found out he had a recurring role on ER (1994-2009) as anesthesiologist Dr. Alexander Babcock. Anyways, for Nickelodeon in its heyday, this was a decent quality show; vastly different than the stuff put out on the network since as early as 2008. May the 1990s decade NEVER be forgotten.

Ah, this was on all the time when I came home from school and watched my daily dose of Nick until dinner. I'd always switch to MTV because I hated it, Beavis and Butthead was on at the same time for a few months (which was weird because it was usually on only at night) - those were memorable days.

Christine Taylor "Melody" was the only one to have a successful career after this show ended. "Brady Bunch Movie" to "Wedding Singer" to marrying Ben Stiller.
To be fair it's worth pointing out most of the crew seems to have had successful lives. A lot of young actors choose to not continue with acting, for various reasons. It isn't always failure. But David Brisbin and David Lascher appeared on other shows, Kelly Brown married her high school sweetheart and became a mom and business owner. Also, it is worth mentioning Christine Taylor's biggest roles were in Ben Stiller movies which she undoubtedly got because she's married to Ben Stiller. But yeah overall she was definitely the most successful of the cast but seems like they all did well in life. Aside from maybe Joe Torres...apparently nobody knows for sure what really happened to him from what I've read.
Seeing this makes me wish I would wake up as a kid in the 90s again, even if it were just for a day.

Christine Taylor "Melody" was the only one to have a successful career after this show ended. "Brady Bunch Movie" to "Wedding Singer" to marrying Ben Stiller.
David Lascher went on to appear on 90210, Sabrina: The Teenager Witch and Blossom.
To be fair it's worth pointing out most of the crew seems to have had successful lives. A lot of young actors choose to not continue with acting, for various reasons. It isn't always failure. But David Brisbin and David Lascher appeared on other shows, Kelly Brown married her high school sweetheart and became a mom and business owner. Also, it is worth mentioning Christine Taylor's biggest roles were in Ben Stiller movies which she undoubtedly got because she's married to Ben Stiller. But yeah overall she was definitely the most successful of the cast but seems like they all did well in life. Aside from maybe Joe Torres...apparently nobody knows for sure what really happened to him from what I've read.
