Morgan Bon Bogul why not? domesticated animals aren’t safe in the wild like that. she’s at risk of starvation, freezing, disease that can be prevented by vaccines, etc. aside from that, domestic dogs are very attached to humans. if she was avoiding people like that it most likely was not out of choice but actually out of fear. she had probably been abused and dumped/ran away.
You folks did a great job of feeding and capturing her so she could have a loving home. If one person out of 10 did that, we would have no stray animals anywhere.
Poor lulu, glad she was finally rescued, but why THREE YEARS!?? Hope for paws couldve helped, or any other organization if she just would've reached out to someone. Also, what if the dogs owner died in the canyon or something? Should've followed the dog to see where she was going
maybe she had a pack of friends, maybe she was bringing the food to pups? Maybe Lulu's "rescue" aka capture was a catastrophy for them, but the humans had their warm feelings, and apparently, that's all what matters here.

Dogs go into survival mode and that’s why strays can be hard to catch and they appear like they don’t want to be caught. They are scared and exhausted and just trying to get by. But once they are caught and they are given affection and a safe place to live and all their needs are met, they are so much happier. Thank you for not giving up on Lulu. Dogs are not meant to live wild.
Amy Connors thank you, I was annoyed at all the "U tOok hER fReedom" fuckers in these comments. I'm sure she had a lifetime worth of exploring, but now she can live the rest of her days receiving love, food, and a nice comfy bed.
Not to mention, she's an old dog who will be needing veterinary care. I have never seen a stray dog adopted who was better off on their own. Dogs can survive a long time as a stray but they are much happier in a home.
Well they turn wild very quickly, some say even overnight, and if in the right environment dogs can survive quite well. In romania street dogs formed packs and were able to take down deer just like wolves. Most pet animals aren't these helpless beings that we think they are. Every animal has an innate drive to survive and that's exactly what they will do given the opportunity.
Exactly right Amy with everything you said,, but the same is true of cats (who tend to do it a little better) but change too when given love. They are mistrusting for good reasons and just scared. I cant' believe some of the stupid comments on here but obviously its a good thing she wasn't outside their houses as they would just ignore her.
Super glad she's safe and loved, but why did they feed her food in plastic bags? She could've choked on it or some other animal could have :( or it would just end up being litter. They should have probably used paper bags, much more safe. Still, glad she was rescued and is now safe ❤️
Or no bags. Just let her eat on the spot, and if she's too afraid to eat in front of people, leave after giving her the food. The last thing we need is more plastic on this planet.
Hmm dog is in good condition, no sign of ever having pups (spayed) leash trained, maybe just maybe she already had a home. Someone was probably devastated when their older beloved pet disappeared
You know aslong as Dogs aren't in a horrible situation they won't get malnourished, they're able to survive on their own you're just trying to make this wholesome situation into a horrible one
t hobbs I doubt she already has a home. 😂🤦♀️ Someone probably abandoned their older dog. Someone’s dog wouldn’t be living in the canyon and roaming around every day and getting food from someone.
@@michellepaul8514 Believe it or not, many dogs would prefer to live outside than in a human household, especially if they could pick up a daily package of food.
Jay Rock That’s what most people do who rescue dogs most of the time. They rescue them and foster and find them a forever home by letting someone adopt them.
people who foster adopt the dog out so they can continue to foster. if they keep the dog they’re fostering, that usually means they’re unable to foster anymore due to caring for their own animal they’ve just adopted, they end up caring for too many animals, or they are unable to care financially for the dog for its entire life. not to mention this woman already had a dog, and she just might not have been able to have two. most people who foster continue to foster and let animals go to forever homes so they can meet the next dog, who might be just as amazing and loving! or they might find a dog or cat in another bad situation and take care of them. if they take in the first dog, the second, third, so on may not have a chance or they’d never get to meet them and have these wonderful experiences.
she may have been able to care for Lulu for 3 years, but unable to care for Lulu for her entire life so she sent her to a home where she’d know Lulu would have the best life possible. there are many reasons people don’t keep the dogs they take care of
Lost animals are so fortunate when humans care and take action. Lucky LuLu. Please spay and neuter your pets. My local shelter just had a 2-Day Adopt-a-thon. 20 dogs went out to loving homes including mine and many cats were homed too. They know with winter and disasters they need room for more. Please be a conscientious pet owner. If you can no longer care for your pet find a no-kill shelter to bring them to. Be the owner your pet thinks you are. ; ) Care right for them.
Totally agree I have 10 Cats and that's just because there was a stray in my backyard and she'd bring her litters directly to my backdoor , but you better believe all 10 of them are spayed & neutered
I also have 10 from stray/feral mamas that deposit their new babies on the doorstep and then leave. I find homes for the ones I can but usually end up keeping the ones who are less adoptable. We have colony cats as well, only a few old ones left though. I also have six dogs that are rescues in a long line of many.
@@jaguarsky55 I guess it means they really trust us, because animals won't leave their kids with just anyone. Same with me, that was the plan to find them homes but I couldn't find them homes and I could take care probably better than anyone anyway LOL
Ds Anand Yeah, i was wondering, how does she open the bag w/o ripping it open? Wouldn't she accidentally swallow plastic bits then? I can just imagine her lair, somewhere in the wilderness, with 1,500 plastic bags strewn about 😅
I wonder how many wild animals were killed as a result of littering the canyon with plastic bags. I love rescue stories, but the humans need to be smarter than the animal, and that is definitely not the case here. This is an extreme case of "just the opposite". Three years? Next time call professionals. Compassion alone is not enough.
Robbit Bobbit Sir Did you bother to find out if they picked up those bags every time they went down looking for her or when they built her house posssibly??? Hmmmm good question huh. People are so easy at criticizing before they know a damn thing. Have you ever helped a human or animal and just reacted not thinking about anything else in that moment but helping??? Before you criticize why not ask questions first!!! Only one person/spirit has the right to judge anyone and that’s certainly not us humans!!!
After three years it is likely not puppies but I do feel she was sharing the food with other dogs (maybe her children). Many people say if that was the case they would have seen the others with her. But that may not be the case. she seems to have at some point been a pet. the dogs she is sharing with may not have been. Mix her being a pet in the past so confort with humans and her large size maybe she was the only one brave enough to get close to humans to be seen (at least in that area). And if the dogs she was sharing with were her puppies 9by the end adult dogs themselves) she may have been keeping them away from people on poprose and taking the risk herself for extra food for them.
@Mycel She may not have had puppies but she may still have been sharing her food with other dogs that are not as comfortable around people. As you point out everything points to her being a pet at some point. If the other dogs she was with never were or had been very badly treated they may not be willing to go near humans at all whereas she was. And if say the lady saw her there when she was out looking for food separate from the others once the others knew about humans being there they may avoid that area which is why the lady didn't see her with them.
These two wonderful people went above and beyond to help this abandoned n feral dog "3yrs" of love, patience and determination and they did it. Now she has a loving home and never has to struggle to survive again. Inspiring.

This is so beautiful :) But I don't think it was such a great idea to give her food in plastic bags, she could have choked and it's bad for the environment.
Considering that we just watched a half blind senior dog get rescued after being alone in a canyon for 3 years, I think you should ignore the plastic bags as well.
I wondered that too, but it's unlikely she had pups for the whole duration (3 years). Also, once grown enough, I can imagine some would have tried following her and would have been seen.

Somewhere a family is wondering what happened to their big dog that loved to wander the canyon on its own every day.
Exactly my thoughts. Probably live in a rich neighborhood where this is a common thing and no way that chubby bub was stray
@@jblps she wasn't chubby, you could see her ribs
@@sleepcrime That's normal for a lot of breeds especially large breeds should not be overweight.

@@sleepcrime Lot's of under educated people out there when it comes to dogs. Ribs /= starving or even underweight and this was a healthy dog if you rewatch the video. In no part of the video was the dog underweight or malnourished. No need to get dramatic! -it's not clear cut and I never accused anyone of doing anything on purpose but that does in fact happen. In my opinion this dog likely had a home.
So the canyons are littered with all of these plastic bags?? That’s awesome.
I couldn't understand why they didn't pour the kibble into a bowl or just on the ground for her. It made no sense to give it to her inside of a plastic bag bc without thumbs, it's hard for her to open.

it's a legit concern here as human garbage is a big problem in this world and do a lot of damage and harm. it's good to be aware of such instead of making your garbage someone else problem. but I do believe these people have cleaned it up they probably knew where the dog eaten else indeed the place is full with plastic bags if the dog didn't ingested it with the food as that's a possibility to.
There is a stray cat near the apartment I live at, and I feed her every morning and evening. Its been a little over a year and all I want is to bring her home but she just gets too anxious and afraid over everything. It took me almost a whole year just for her to trust me and touch her (not even carry). I hope I can save her too.
Thank you for helping her! ❤
Aww thats sweet of you, don't give up whatever you do,it took 3 years to capture this dog lulu💕
@@pamspray1413 do not give up! It took me five years to get a feral cat to trust me enough to let me pet him. But once I did it only took a couple of months to get him to trust me enough to come inside when it was too cold out. Buy a trap I rescued two of my boys(Chance &Arrow). They want to be rescued. Some cities will loan you a trap to trap, neuter, and release for free. Havahart traps are good I see one at Lowe's for under $25. Looks like Amazon sells small animal traps too. Bait trap with tuna. Viola!

Mother Nature: 1,095 plastic bags
Geez....some people are absolutely ridiculous. This is a sweet story about a woman who dedicated 3 years of her life to save a dog, and that's what you complain about? People are so annoying. This wasn't a wild dog, living free with it's pack...it was someone's pet that was either lost or discarded. Bless them for helping!
this was indeed the most infuriating animal rescue story ever, she didn't care about the dog she was just doing it to feel like she's a good person for feeding it, otherwise she wouldn't be feeding it plastic for three years bc you can bet the dog did eat parts of the bags while trying to get in them, turning the canyon into a landfill in the process yeehaw
@@isitoveryet9525 Yes, but it's also a danger to the dog. There's no telling how much fucking plastic that dog ate on top of the dog leaving those bags everywhere. They should've just put it in a bowl on the other side of the fence or simply thrown the food over it as is

Morgan Bon Bogul why not? domesticated animals aren’t safe in the wild like that. she’s at risk of starvation, freezing, disease that can be prevented by vaccines, etc. aside from that, domestic dogs are very attached to humans. if she was avoiding people like that it most likely was not out of choice but actually out of fear. she had probably been abused and dumped/ran away.
to add, it’s also likely that she wasn’t spayed, and would be at risk of getting pregnant and giving birth to puppies who would grow up wild.

What a wonderful story and video. Lulu deserves your love and you deserve hers. Thank you for doing the right thing and having patience with her. No no, I'm not crying, I'm am just really happy for you.
Some dogs are meant to live wild
Well they turn wild very quickly, some say even overnight, and if in the right environment dogs can survive quite well. In romania street dogs formed packs and were able to take down deer just like wolves. Most pet animals aren't these helpless beings that we think they are. Every animal has an innate drive to survive and that's exactly what they will do given the opportunity.
Exactly right Amy with everything you said,, but the same is true of cats (who tend to do it a little better) but change too when given love. They are mistrusting for good reasons and just scared. I cant' believe some of the stupid comments on here but obviously its a good thing she wasn't outside their houses as they would just ignore her.
i would have put a tracker in the dog food bag
fr they should of done that
I thought the same
Cheap and easy
Ur an angel!
And dont you think this devastated person would have advertised for her missing dog,the fact that nobody came looking for her is your answer...
Could of been dumped as well. People love getting puppies until they get too big :/
When the grass is truly greener on the other side of the fence
So you been taking care of this dog and trying to catch lulu for 3 years just to give lulu to a different family
Jay Rock That’s what most people do who rescue dogs most of the time. They rescue them and foster and find them a forever home by letting someone adopt them.
Honestly I also can't understand. You could have kept her and leave her in the place she was loving and considered her territory
people who foster adopt the dog out so they can continue to foster. if they keep the dog they’re fostering, that usually means they’re unable to foster anymore due to caring for their own animal they’ve just adopted, they end up caring for too many animals, or they are unable to care financially for the dog for its entire life. not to mention this woman already had a dog, and she just might not have been able to have two. most people who foster continue to foster and let animals go to forever homes so they can meet the next dog, who might be just as amazing and loving! or they might find a dog or cat in another bad situation and take care of them. if they take in the first dog, the second, third, so on may not have a chance or they’d never get to meet them and have these wonderful experiences.
she may have been able to care for Lulu for 3 years, but unable to care for Lulu for her entire life so she sent her to a home where she’d know Lulu would have the best life possible. there are many reasons people don’t keep the dogs they take care of
you mean they sell her
Lost animals are so fortunate when humans care and take action.

Okay, this was an emotional happy tears video!!! 😊
Oh Lulu, I'm so happy for you!!! ❤🐕❤
@Matt T. That just sounds stupid. Plastic doesn't go away, it's far worse.
@Matt T. I like the term "plentiful", meaning "couldn't be bothered because it's not interesting to humans".
@ Yes a plastic bag killed over a hundred animals that sure does make sense
Clearly everyone here is active in the community picking up litter and whatnot so why argue
How wonderful that they were finally able to get her into a loving home for the life that all dogs deserve. Tail wags!!!

Let's just hope she wasn't taking all that food back to growing puppies, I feel like they should've tried harder to track the dog to it's home.
That what I was thinking!
@@Duke00x Maybe she had an injured friend even... who knows
